Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, recently spent time aboard their boat in the Mediterranean — but RadarOnline.com has learned that the getaway was anything but smooth sailing. According to a new report, de Rossi has become unhinged over Ellen’s flirtation with a woman they both know.

DeGeneres “had an affair with one of their mutual friends right before Portia’s rehab stint in May,” an insider close to the couple claimed to In Touch, noting that the situation made Portia’s alleged substance abuse issues worse and “led to some of their ugliest blowups.”

As Radar has reported, 41-year-old de Rossi finally sought professional help in the spring for her drinking and pill-popping problem. Now the actress is doing her best to stay sober while dealing with fears over the state of her relationship with the talk show host.

“It’s going to take a lot for Portia to trust Ellen again,” the insider claimed.

And that reportedly has DeGeneres, 56, scrambling for ways to smooth things over. According to InTouch, the Oscars host has re-upped her dedication to going to therapy with de Rossi, and this August she has made plans to jet her wife to Australia for a recommitment ceremony to celebrate their six-year wedding anniversary.

Still, sources claim the couple’s future remains murky.

“Portia is having huge problems forgiving Ellen for betraying her,” a friend said. “They may never really find their way back to each other.”
