Scary Spice has decided to give her two cents about Madonna’s adoption woes:
Singer Melanie Brown has backed pop superstar Madonna in her bid to adopt another Malawian child. The Material Girl’s request for an interim adoption of three-year-old Mercy James was turned down by a court in the country’s capital Lilongwe earlier this month.
She has launched an appeal against the ruling, but has come under fire from some human rights groups and children’s charities amid claims the tot would be better off in her own country. However, former Spice Girl Brown insists Madonna should be handed custody of Mercy – because she can provide the youngster with a better upbringing.
Brown [said], “It’s easy for critics to knock celebrities who choose to adopt, but it’s a good thing that Madonna’s doing. Not only is she highlighting the plight of orphans in Africa, she’s also giving this little girl the chance of a better life.”
As if Madame Spice really gives 2 f*ks about this situation…Some people will do anything for a little media time, damn it.
