OK! magazine’s woman of the year, Tyra Banks, was shopping earlier this week in LA looking like an average broad:
“An average American woman is size 12 or 14. So if I look like a 10 or 12 in a picture and someone says I look disgusting, are they saying the majority of America is disgusting?”
For the record, Tyra isn’t built like the average American woman.

Leave tyra alone! I am proud of her for not trying to starve herself to fit in to what soceity calls healthy. she has taken some time to enjoy what she wants to in life and if that means eating a couple of burgers and skipping the gym then good for her. She at least lets us feel like we don’t have to look like every other anorexic heffa on the tube.

yes tyra, they are. america is the fattest nation in the world, so spouting off the average size of an american woman like it’s some sort of norm…well it isn’t. a size 14 is the first size in a plus-size store. plus-size is a euphemism for fat. so the fact that the “average” american woman is fat is something that should be remedied, not celebrated.
