Lauryn Hill Snaps On Fan Who Criticizes Her For Being Late
Veteran female rapper Lauryn Hill has garnered much praise throughout her career for her undeniable talent, but she’s been getting just as much backlash in recent years for her erratic live performance shenanigans.
The former Fugees frontwoman hit the stage in front of a packed crowed at Chicago’s House of Blues and when a disgruntled fan publicly put her on blast for showing up almost an hour late, she let him have it, telling the fan:
“I don’t play that. I don’t need to win you over and you don’t need to win me over. You can go and take all your money back. It’s alright.
I do this because I love it, not because I owe you anything. You understand that?
I do this because I love it and you can get on your blogs, tweet, whatever you want to. I don’t give a rat’s a**.
Daaaayyum L Boogie! Given Lauryn’s highly publicized recent history for lateness and also given the fact that it’s not unfortunately not uncommon for performers to run behind schedule when in concert, do you think the fan was out of line? Check out the video footage of the incident below to help you decide.
