Excuse me but Leona was on an Idol like show in the UK. She had an opportunity to build a fan base. I saw her story on Oprah and she was marketed alot in the US by Simon Cowell. Her cd did well overseas not so much over here but she was marketed to a T over here.

@SMDH, you have some things wrong, according to the “reliable source” TMZ, who everybody seems to be depending on for information.

TMZ and Hollyscoop reported that in the official police report, NOT the affidavit, Rihanna admitted to striking first that night and doing so numerous times before he retialted. It also said that the rabbi just heard screaming so he called the police, she was not screaming for help but just screaming and Chris was calm when he walked away. At that point, he nor she would ahve known that the police had been called. The initial reports stated that a woman had called the police but apparantly that was not true. He walked away because she took the keys and he didnt see what she did with them, so he left(that was in the affidavit i think.

You would notice that in the affidavit, it was her side ONLY, meaning what happened to her, NOT what she did that could be seen as an assult too. That may be in his statement and i suppose both will combine to make the official report.

In th ecar pics, there was one drop of blood on the edge of her seat, nothing more although the affidavit and some people reported that her blood splattered all over the car and on her clothes. They did dust the dash board etc for things but no blood was visible there in the car.

I agree that if the picture was not released, no charges would have been filed. It took more than a week for the DA to come up with a “strong” case of assult and pasing the case back to the LAPD to beefen it up is a bad sign for the DA. They felt the pressure of the public after the pic was released and decided to press the felony charges. I’m sure they expected to make a plea deal from the start but had to appear that they were serious about this issue. They know that once th epic ws out there, Cb cmp would be interested in saving face and may not take it to trial where the DA may lose, especially without Rihanna’s testimony.

She does not have that amount of play. In this case, all gerigos has to do is create doubt in the minds of the jury that this case is a felony case which is where the questions are, not whether or not he hit her. I think Chris would ahve admitted that to the police when he turned himself in. However, the circumstances that led to the hitting etc are important because if she was the aggressor and the abusive one i the past, then it is reasonable to believe that some kind of self defense was at play here. Hence the reason for possibly reducing the charge.

If the DA goes to the jury with the felony, knowing that Rihanna was the instigator and started it, the jury can’t say “well he did hit her so hes guilty’ They have to convict him of the felony charge and that only. If they dont think its that serious, then they could acquit him. All your evidence is good for a civil case where the evidence just has to be overwhelming, even if the jury has questions still at the end, they could find him guilty, not in a criminal case.

i dont think peeps r hatin even if u r a rihanna fan u hav 2 admitt she aint the most talented broad in the biz. her voice is very weak and her performances dnt make up 4 it. she has been very lucky to work with good songwriters and producers who manage to giv her ok songs and mediocre albums.
im happy to see er back doing what she loves though coz obviously it was her dream to become a singer its a shame she didnt learn to sing 1st b4 tryna achieve her goals.
and yes she is popular around the world but mainly because of “umbrella” her album sales still dont match the likes of madonna britney or christina
lets just hope she makes the most of what time she has left coz soon the will b a nu “pop sensation” to take her place

K, no need for any hard words, this’ll be my last post on this site; Hermie, I only offer a “different perspective” from what TMZ has spouted. It seems that no one took the time to really take a long look at this situation. Personally, I think this is a serious issue but the fact remains, he was in his car, that was/is his property. He did the “honorable thing” which was to pull over and ask her to leave, even trying to push her out the car; whatever happens after that is meaningless to me, its that at that point that SHE broke the law and he defended himself – period!! We must tell all of our daughters out there, don’t “first hit” a man!
Rhianna doesn’t deserve any of the affection that some is lavishing upon her, she’s a user, now, she wants Chris to do time behind this, wow!! She’s a hard and heartless person.
