You people knew at some point Rihanna was gonna get back to business. Well, the stage has been set, and all shrieking shall commence in Dubai:

Rihanna is set for her comeback. The “Disturbia” star’s first performance since her altercation with Chris Brown will be a May 28 concert in Dubai, E! News confirms.

“There will be over 25,000 tickets available,” says Mary Rachelle Cherpak, a spokeswoman for Dubai Tourism. “They will be going on sale in the next couple of days.”

Though the location is still TBD, she says it will most likely be a designer outdoor venue.

Says Cherpak: “Normally they create a special stage in the desert for these events.”

Rihanna had been scheduled to perform at the Grammys on Feb. 8, but she canceled just before the ceremony following the incident with Brown. Her last concert was Jan. 29 in Los Angeles.

Go kick some ass, Ri Ri…

    SMDH, you’re right, she is bigger internationally than in the states, she still can’t headline a tour in the US cause she too weak. She is loved in the states more for her good fashion sense than anything.I still like her songs but not enough to go to a concert…yet. I do think the concert will sell out though. She is still gettin some of that sympathy lovin and people would be curious just to see how she performs after this CB thing. I wonder when is CB’s first show.

People like alicia keys and JHud are so talented in their singing that their image comes second, not that its not important but they dont spend as much time in the public modeling outfits.     So where is this police report? An affidavit is not a police report. Give me a link to the ACTUAL police report . Like I said yes they were in a fight but we don’t know all the facts simply bcuz only 2 of them were there,The rabbi who reportedly called the police just saw a dumb bull looking bajan ***** screaming like some crazed mental patient cuz she just lost her boyfriend and said that Chris was the calm one while she stood there screaming. She was already out of the car so how did he see what happened? Even from the reports nothing went on outside the car so NOW what? You still don’t have any proof. They didn’t even have proof enough to charge him with anything other than criminal threats initially and the DA even sent the case back to get more evidence a couple days later. Where did they get this new evidence(that magically appeared after several days?), since there were only 2 people in the car I believe they made it up. Something happened yes is there proof of what exactly happened no until we hear it from Rihanna or Chris’(even then it won’t b the whole truth) mouth, which we haven’t, then we still don’t know what happened.

    Excuse me but Leona was on an Idol like show in the UK. She had an opportunity to build a fan base. I saw her story on Oprah and she was marketed alot in the US by Simon Cowell. Her cd did well overseas not so much over here but she was marketed to a T over here.

    It is just like the American Idol guy Daughtry who sold 5 million just in the US alone because he had a fan base from TV.

    @SMDH, you have some things wrong, according to the “reliable source” TMZ, who everybody seems to be depending on for information.

    TMZ and Hollyscoop reported that in the official police report, NOT the affidavit, Rihanna admitted to striking first that night and doing so numerous times before he retialted. It also said that the rabbi just heard screaming so he called the police, she was not screaming for help but just screaming and Chris was calm when he walked away. At that point, he nor she would ahve known that the police had been called. The initial reports stated that a woman had called the police but apparantly that was not true. He walked away because she took the keys and he didnt see what she did with them, so he left(that was in the affidavit i think.

    You would notice that in the affidavit, it was her side ONLY, meaning what happened to her, NOT what she did that could be seen as an *****ult too. That may be in his statement and i suppose both will combine to make the official report.

    In th ecar pics, there was one drop of blood on the edge of her seat, nothing more although the affidavit and some people reported that her blood splattered all over the car and on her clothes. They did dust the dash board etc for things but no blood was visible there in the car.

    I agree that if the picture was not released, no charges would have been filed. It took more than a week for the DA to come up with a “strong” case of *****ult and pasing the case back to the LAPD to beefen it up is a bad sign for the DA. They felt the pressure of the public after the pic was released and decided to press the felony charges. I’m sure they expected to make a plea deal from the start but had to appear that they were serious about this issue. They know that once th epic ws out there, Cb cmp would be interested in saving face and may not take it to trial where the DA may lose, especially without Rihanna’s testimony.

If you look at the video at the awards you’d see that he didn’t want to be with her, but his people told me to take here there.     Leona’s cd came out in 2007 in the UK and she had to get Simon Cowell and Oprah to promote it in the US.

    Ri Ri’s cd did better than “talented” Leona’s because both cds came out in 2007 and Ri Ri’s out sold hers worldwide and on the US charts.

    Like I said before, it takes more than talent and marketing to sell cds.

    @Keep it real, in addition to that, she made three albums in three years because she couldnt afford to rest and risk people forgotting about her. Thats what happens when the talent is kinda weak. Good girl gone bad is probably the longest shes gone on one album. I do like her songs tho but I have to admit that she is plenty of marketing. The whole thing about her cutting her own hair and doing what she wants to do and changing her look, trying to come out of her shell is all manufactured by the label and taught to her when she was practicing to pitch the album. She does not have that amount of play. That happens when you get to the status of Mariah, Whitney (when she was hot), Janet Jackson, Madonna, Michael Jackson(back in the day) and even they have to take some guidence from the label. Shes nowhere near that yet. She is still very much controlled by the record execs.

    @keep it real, you need to look at the pic and if you’re still convinced that she had work done, well, whateva but she was 16 when she came out so growth is possible.

    As for the skin colour, adaptation like that does not happen overnight. I’ve seen it many times, when people come back here (to the west Indies)from the states or eurpoe, they look pale and lighter skinned. At least thats my observation.

    Both the Today show and Oprah did a show about Brazil. Matt was in Brazil and he walked around the beach and he commented on the amount of women who had stuff done.

    A brazilian star told Oprah that plastic surgeries in Brazil were higher than both the US & Europe combined.

    After I saw these shows, I wanted to see if these things were mentioned in the guide books on Brazil and they were. There was even a section warning men that alot of Brazil’s most beautiful women are men.

    @SMDH, the white man’s justice or whatever you call it may be the same thing that gets him off. you ever heard the saying “the law is an *****”? Thats because its not as cut and dry as it should be inth eminds of lay people, even legal minds.

    In this case, all gerigos has to do is create doubt in the minds of the jury that this case is a felony case which is where the questions are, not whether or not he hit her. I think Chris would ahve admitted that to the police when he turned himself in. However, the cir*****stances that led to the hitting etc are important because if she was the aggressor and the abusive one i the past, then it is reasonable to believe that some kind of self defense was at play here. Hence the reason for possibly reducing the charge.

    If the DA goes to the jury with the felony, knowing that Rihanna was the instigator and started it, the jury can’t say “well he did hit her so hes guilty’ They have to convict him of the felony charge and that only. If they dont think its that serious, then they could acquit him. All your evidence is good for a civil case where the evidence just has to be overwhelming, even if the jury has questions still at the end, they could find him guilty, not in a criminal case.

It seems that no one took the time to really take a long look at this situation. Personally, I think this is a serious issue but the fact remains, he was in his car, that was/is his property.
