The Most Homophobic Countries In The World

There are far too many anti-gay governments in the world and places where homophobia is worse than you can imagine. The folks at Newsweek have listed the most homophobic countries in the world. (So be mad at them, not us)

Take a look and try to imagine being gay and living in these places.

Nigeria – Same-sex couples face up to 14 years in jail.

Uganda – Homosexuality is punishable by life in prison.

Zimbabwe – The president has threatened to behead gay Zimbabweans.

Saudi Arabia – Being gay is punishable by law

India – They’ve criminalized gay sex and came under protest for it.

Honduras – 80 LGBT people have been killed since 2009

Jamaica – Hate crimes are said to be customary there.

Senegal – 96 percent of Senegalese apparently think it’s wrong to be gay.

Afghanistan – They’re one of the most homophobic countries in its region apparently.

Lithuania – They’re considering the same anti-gay laws that Russia is imposing.

Sudan – Homosexuality is punishable by death here as well.

Russia – They came under fire for their anti-gay rules during the Olympics.
