“COPS” Cameraman Shot During Shootout Between Armed Robber And Police

Via USAToday

An employee of the long-running TV show Cops was shot and injured during a gunfight between police and an armed robber that broke out while the crew was working in Omaha Tuesday night.

The Cops crew was with police who responded to an armed robbery call at a Wendy’s restaurant around 9:20 p.m. CT when the shooting took place. The suspect and the Cops employee were both hit in the exchange and taken to the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

The suspect was declared dead at the hospital, while no more information was given about the condition of the Cops employee.

The restaurant’s windows were riddled with bullet holes and the street was closed for several hours, the Omaha World-Herald reports.

“We will have more on his condition, as well as any other details on this tomorrow,” Deputy Police Chief Dave Baker said Tuesday. “We have a lot of ground to cover here tonight and officers will continue the investigation throughout the night.”

Wonder will the insurance company write him a big check for worker’s compensation.
