The banning of Vick vs. others goes down to the commissioner. Had Little and the rest played on Goodell’s watch vs. Tagliabue’s, they would’ve been toast.

Hate towards Vick goes, I think, for a couple reasons:

1. He killed the very animal we value in Western society and there was a radical group ripe for the pounce. There’s a lab in England that beat Beagles, a similar org to PETA nearly bombed the place. It’s how we roll.

1a. Don’t think his teammates had much love for him, either.

2. He was a celebrated, but notorious, QB, who gave the finger to his fans. Had he returned punts in Cleveland, he never would’ve made page 8.

I do think, however, that it’s time the animal activists give it a rest. He committed a crime, he paid his price. Move on already.

So see, I have little patience for players who f*ck up their amazing careers. And that includes Vick, and his gambling and torture ring. And when the heat was really on, he tested positive for drugs! Oh, and let’s not forget he’s a liar swearing he knew nuttin about nuttin…I’m never there…blah blah blah. Let’s review:

– a liar to the Feds who offered a little to no time-served deal (illegal)

– a liar to the commissioner who determines Vick’s career (not illegal)

– a liar to the Falcons organization who built an entire offense around him, and thereby his fans who supported him. (not illegal)

– a liar like Martha Stewart. She went up river for the lie, not the deed.

C’mon now, we can be victims, cry racism, blame PETA (who I’m sick of), but at the end of the day, it’s straight up accountability.

What you’ve just described was on a smaller scale. Vick was implicated on not only on those above mentioned charges, but also financing the whole operation, which probably also involves certain RICO violations. Trust me, he’s getting off light.

The examples you used are wild animals, not domestic animals that the public are *****e to project a closer emotional bond and empathy towards. Yes, you’re right, the judicial system is flawed and hypocritical, but that still doesn’t negate the fact that Vick and his co-horts should’ve known better, considering todays political and emotional atmosphere concerning the treatment of animals… Especially animals that are considered pets. This is what happens when certain people/morons doesn’t keep up with current events or just don’t give a *****. They suffer the consequences of their own ignorance and (or) actions.
