Rihanna is gorgeous but this is such a photo op…beyond seeing if a shoe fits (which you rarely have to do if you buy the same designers over and over again) no woman has to stand in a mirror and ogle a heel like that… You get a feel for a designer’s fit after a while…what she’s doing in the mirror…no woman with her sort of wealth and familiarity with designer shoes does that. Especially since the shoe is a pretty standard slingback.

With “regular” (not expensive) shoes the “lasts” and way a shoe fits is/are pretty much the same across the board with different shoes from that particular designer, however with “high end” shoes the designers sometimes use different “lasts” and so the way a shoe fits and the size will be different…

@ Who cares you are so true with that statement, she still has yet too sell a mil here in the US and she got the worst ever reviews for a so called big time singer for her GGGB tour here in the US and some places out of the US so riri can dress all she wants but the talent will stay the same.
I know she feels like an ***** seeing how a real singer sells (Alicia) in just 6 wks she went 2xplat with a song out that was not that hot but she still pulled it off. Riri had so much press on every award show and had a very very very popular song and she yet cant pull off true plat status and it has taken her 7 or 8 months to get thus far that’s not good no matter how you shake this one and look what no dancing Mary J. is doing and riri even went darn near naked and still gets the same thing even with x-mas holiday sales it still did nothing for her.

I can respect your input and perhaps you know something deep and esoteric, something we do not about the way shoes are made…but coming from a woman with all the surface knowledge of spending more than she should on designer wares, trust me…if you’re familiar with the designer and you’ve got your size, it is not common, standing and ogling the fit (especially when it is, as I said, a standard slingback).
Now, someone else might make the point that she’s looking the shoe over to get a feel for how to style it…and I’d say no even to that because a woman of her wealth would buy thriftlessly because she knows that sooner or later she’ll have accidentally purchased something that fits the shoe just right. (If there isn’t something in her closet, untouched and perfect for the shoe).
I won’t quibble but I won’t acquiesce, if that makes any sense. I know Rihanna is conscious ONLY of getting her picture taken and she does too…lol

My only point was this is a photo op and it’s funny that way… I would NEVER have made the point about a regular person because I would never have known enough to infer anything about her familiarity with the designer. But, again, I have to disagree with you…when you buy a certain brand you know what to expect…you know the trends in sizing…you don’t need to stand and ogle. (And, I’d have to say most of the “seeing how it looks” is about preemptive buyer’s remorse lol) I’m sorry but with Rihanna, it’s that reality magnified 100 times…

i actually agree 100% with you. as a little girl my mother had a serious, serious addiction to anything oscar de la renta and she would grab boxes of shoes at a time and have them rang up and bagged. she didnt need to try it on because she’s been wearing their shoes for YEARS and knew that a slim ankle and high heel look good REGARDLESS and most designers especially in certain style are true to size. and having p*****ed the gene on to me, i also know that my favorite designers are never tried on. they are just simply purchased. anyway, you see celebs all the time buying shoes the size of moutains and they never put their foot in one. i agree, she probably noticed the papparazzi and decided to ham it up for the camera

bajan, You’re stanning but you’ve got a point: it seems that the people who usually express unfavorable opinions of Rihanna are black. It’s crazy. I, for one, like her…do I like all her music? No, and I especially loathe what is rumored to be her new single: “Breakin Dishes” but I do think she can sing, I just think her vocals are rife with her thick accent. It seems that we aren’t responsive to that…like it’s foreign and bad that way. When “Rehab” premiered (the first most Americans had heard of Amy) people were criticizing her voice and saying she couldn’t sing because of it (accent). Eventually they came around to her but not to Rihanna it seems…
i dont think its an accent that makes her singing is terrible. because in most singers you do not hear an accent no matter how thick it is, unless of course that is the style they’re going for, and even then it is quite premeditated and the reason for this is because there are ‘true vowels’ in singing and the dipthongs of usual language are not used the same way as when one is singing.
and i dont think its just because we’re black that people dont like rihanna or her singing. but when it comes to vocalists blacks are WAY more discerning. we appreciate vocal skill and finese whereas some white people really only appreciate a catchy, poppy tune and beat. these are the same people who elevated britney spears to an pop icon with lackluster singing ability.

Oh please those few little awards that Rihanna got don’t compare to Alicia’s awards and Beyonce’s 150 awards. Last time I checked Irreplacable is the biggest song of 2007. It was number 1 longer just go on billboard Beyonce had 4 #1’s for the year including the number 1 rnb/hip-hop artist. I mean Beyonce didn’t even have an album out in 2007 and she had more success than Rihanna. LMAO And Alicia did numbers that only Rihanna can dream of ever getting. Beyonce and Alicia are both legends and will be remembered from this generation. Will anyone remember Rihanna? Hell No! People are forgetting about her already. Face it Rihanna is not and never will be on Beyonce and Alicia level. If u actually take time to read about artists, u would eventually realize that rihanna herself said, when she came out as an artists, people already had plans for her (her look, her attitude, her songs, etc.), but after she realized what she finally wanted to do she took actions into her own hands, thats how we have good girl gone bad . now im not saying she sold more records than alicia or beyonce (cause they are killin rite now), but rihanna is still making a statement at the age of 19. Now in The US she has sold 1,500,000 albums (if u dont believe me i can give u the website u can find it on), but world wide she is racking up, she is damn near close to selling 4 million records, now tell me thats a flop album. and even when she had the beyonce look, she managed to sell almost 6 million albums combined on her first two albums
And at first i wasnt the biggest rihanna fan but she has grown on me. Yeah, she was the beyonce look alike, but now she is rihanna, and now if u take a look at her latese GGGB tour in Europe on yourube, you will notice how he voice has grown tremendiously(and every show she performed she had sold out corwds and sometimes overpacked crowds. tht why we are fans, because we see something different and unique in her. she has the power to be a force in the near future. so all the dissing and the comparisons need to stop cuz u cant deny she got mad still and she is still a fresh new face in da game, and she probly gon be around for a while.
