According to a recent report, a slew of Black celebrities have not used their fame and fortune to support Barack Obama:
But neither Sean “Diddy” Combs nor Shawn “Jay Z” Carter has pitched in for the Illinois senator as of yet. Jay Z’s fiancée Beyonce Knowles has also remained silent……Neither has Spike Lee nor Denzel Washington. Also missing from Obama’s list of donors in the current election cycle is BET Chairman and Founder billionaire Robert L. Johnson.
Don’t expect Diddy to support Obama, the billionaire Clinton supporter, Ron Burkle, who paid for Magic Johnson’s Clinton support, owns most of the Sean Jean clothing line. SMH.

Personally I’m all about Obama but this is America and they can vote for anybody they want. Bossip shouldn’t be trying to pressure people to vote for a certain candidate. If they decide to support another candidate, for whatever reason, that’s their prerogative. Bossip, you can praise Obama however you like but calling out individuals is faulty and most likely does little to help your cause. You need to fall back on that.

Well I think if this is true, it could be for a number of reasons. Like me, I am waiting to make an informed decision. Too many people assume we as Black would automatically vote for him because he’s black and that is clearly not the case.
Also, it could be because these celebrities are “friends” of the Clinton’s and they plan on using the Black Celebrites to get the young vote.
However, Barack is like a “Cyclone” and slowly and surely he is pulling people in. He did it to Oprah, Doug Wilder (first Black Gov. of VA), people in Iowa, and probably New Hampshire. I’m just riding along and watching everything. The man is awsome.

I saw Denzel Washington in an interview and he said something very interesting. He said that he looked at the candidates, and he knew who he liked, and he was going to keep it to himself. Wow! Maybe people like Johnny Depp, Sean Penn, and the like should take a cue from Denzel. Why should I care who an actor, musician, athlete, talk show host, or any other celebrity is endorsing? I mean “Reasonable Doubt” is still a classic album, but does that mean I should take political advice from Jay Z? I think “X” was one of the greatest biographical movies ever, so should I vote for whoever Spike Lee endorses? Entertainers should do what they do best. Make movies, music, shows, plays on the field etc. Here’s a novel idea, I’m going to vote for who I feel is going to lead the country in the direction I think it should go. We suspect this false claim was inspired by the 2007 swearing-in of Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., an American convert to Islam and the first Muslim elected to Congress. Ellison used a Koran that once belonged to Thomas Jefferson, borrowing the rare book from the Library of Congress.
It goes without saying that Ellison is not Obama. And with its intent to inflame, we find the e-mail’s allegation not only false, but Pants-on-Fire wrong.

She may not have meant to dismiss MLK’s ‘dreams’ as lesser in the full quotes floating around, but she sure got close to it. She seemed to feel that signing that Act was more important than the work it took to change minds and hearts that that Act was necessary and was possible in the first place.

It’s the white people who are supporting Obama, not black people. What I find depressing, however, are certain conspiracy theorists who are trying to frame this as a race issue with blacks doing a heavy lifting that just isn’t true. Blacks aren’t doing the heavy lifting for Obama — white college kids are.
White folks who hear Obama really are affected by him. These aren’t the fake supporters who think that he’s easier to beat than Hillary. This is real.
People who want to fake support somebody don’t cause ballots to run out. But ballots are running out all over New Hampshire, for the Democrats. People respect Obama. I know it’s hard to believe, but it’s true. It’s a shame that the ugliest part of this nomination process has come from the Clintons — and apparently they’re about to unload some big guns against him if he really does pull through and win New Hampshire. Anyway, I respected Jay Zee for speaking out against Cristal, because Cristal *was* being bigotted. All I know is, I’m not voting for Obama just because he is black…… a black president can be just as bad ad a white president can. Bill Clinton was an excellent president who cared about black people and our issues….. he wasn’t black. Hilary clinton could be a better president than obama, but some of you will never know because some of you guys are too busy looking at their skin color instead of thier views on the economy, the war, global warming abortion, or immigration.
