De La is hands down one the best groups in hip hop history… and consistent… they never tried to go with trends… they just stayed who they were… and their core group of true fans are loyal (I being one of them)….they are hip hop’s Grateful Dead… PS – STAKES IS HIGH (most slept on CD EVER!)

Damn, only 3 comments too. Real hip hop ain’t dead, it’s fans are…

I still rock 3 Feet High and Rising, and De La Soul is dead. There was also Jungle Brothers, Tribe Called Quest, Queen Latifah. Native Tongue was the joint until “gansta” rap took over.

De La all the way baby. Love, them, they make Albums..all the way through. Skits, story line, etc. I saw perform last year and they rocked it. I would definitely see them again.

Native Tongue was the joint until “gansta” rap took over.

I’m a fan RAP not HIp Hop, I like that gangsta rap. Hell it’s honesty in black youth even if it is wrong. our society bred greed in our youth and it comes out in our music, we our plegued by drugs and violents in our community and it comed out in our music as well, Rap music is a reflection of sighs of the time bad or good. Hip Hop is a alternative life style or somthing to do New York or whatever…yall can have that – down here in the south things are kept in real perspective even if it is negative, its whats going on in our hoods.

I know that I had their tape when I was a kid. We listened to this and gansta rap so when our parents were around we bumped De La, Tribe, or PE. but when they were gone we played NWA, DJ Quick, and Luke.
