You forgot to mention that her co-anchor was saying something along the lines of “Tiger Woods is a really great player, they should gang up on him” and she jokingly replied to his comment with what she said. If you saw the interview you would see she meant no malice.

She was probably just joking around and forgot about the sensitive historical connotation. I mean, is the film “Hang Em High” offensive? No, it’s a Western. Lynching-hanging have other historical precedents beyond the lynching in the South. An obviously bad gaffe, but I doubt it was intentional.
