Will Smith has joined the ranks of Hollywood power players actively recruiting for the Church of Scientology. Smith, who is best buddies with Scientology booster Tom Cruise, has never confirmed that he joined the church. But he told “Access Hollywood” last month: “I was introduced to it by Tom, and I’m a student of world religion. I was raised in a Baptist household. I went to a Catholic school, but the ideas of the Bible are 98% the same ideas of Scientology, 98% the same ideas of Hinduism and Buddhism.”

Before ya’ll talk about what scientology is read up on it first. I hate the ignorance on these sites. Being one religion does make that one better than the other and that is probably why most people are trying to distance themselves form the church half the time.

America ia about making money and the gov. and drug companies are no different. the more stuff youtake the more a chance of developing something else which leads to more meds for you and more money for America and the drug company.

Couple problems – unlike other major world religions you CAN’T read up on Scientology. There are several holy books, each one significantly more expensive than the next, and they are only available to church members.
About only celebrities being involved – their church is called the Scientology Celebrity Centre. They openly court the rich. Most religions ask you to give 10%. Scientology asks for tens of thousands of dollars to pass from one level to the next; Tom Cruise and Travolta have each spent tens of millions
There was an interesting article about the religion in Rolling Stone a year or so ago, but I can’t find the link. But there is one key thing I remember – you only find out the true beliefs of the religion after you are a certain number of levels in, which would be like joining the Catholic church, being baptized, performing the sacraments and THEN finding out that Jesus is the son of God.

Im not surprised by all this. In the Bible it DOES say that near the end of time, Jesus’ coming, all these things are going to be happening. Water has already washed up on land (Tsunami) and there are lots more to come.
Later on in the future, the government are going to start puting chips (like computer chips) in people’s wrist (i don’t know what for but it was in a book i heard of), and the bible states all of these things.

For the record, in that interview, Will Smith never said that he subscribed to the philosophies of Scientology. What he said was no one should knock a religion if they don’t know anything about it…once again bad journalism and misconstrued quotes…I guess you have to do that to make it seem interesting, but it just seems to go against everything we are taught as journalists, especially black jounalists. It seems like we would go much further in our research to make sure our stories were tite…

Scientologists actually believe we’re aliens from other planets. And what’s up with these ‘world religions’ that don’t require you to sacrifice anything, i.e., to repent?
