Villz Releases Video For His Song “Appreciation”

This summer we had the pleasure of meeting this great new artist named Villz. He has a sound that we feel is really current but he’s very hands on and has a unique approach to his music. We wanted to share his latest video with you, it’s called “Appreciation.”

Here’s some background on the song and video via Afropunk.com:

About the song, Villz tells us: “Beautiful women of the past, present and future. I feel as if women are being perceived negatively in modern media when there’s a different way to express beauty rather than ti**ies and a**. Also it stands as a cultural message of expectance.” “Beauty by our standards.”

About the video: “The inspiration sprouted from me just loving where I’m from and being comfortable with who I am and the things that made me. That is why we shot it in Little Haiti, Miami, where I grew up. In the video you get a glimpse of who I am internally. I grew up in the apartment complex in the video.”

His camp tell us: Video directed by TMETRVLR SAO (he also directed Villz’s “4:20am” video and edited Miguel and Kendrick Lamar’s video for “How Many Drinks?”)

“Appreciation” was written by Villz and was co-produced by Mike Ewing & King Malcolm. Villz’s debut LP “Till the End of Summer” will be released via Gold House records in November.
