UCLA Approves Mandatory Diversity Class Starting Fall 2015

UCLA has approved a mandatory diversity class for students. In a narrow vote, the faculty of UCLA’s largest academic unit passed a proposed requirement for future undergraduates to take a course on ethnic, cultural, religious, or gender diversity. The vote followed three previous failed efforts. Late last week, the faculty of the UCLA College of Letters and Science voted 332 to 303, with 24 blank ballots.
