Twerk Team’s Betty Butt Killed
An original member of a popular YouTube dance group has died. Members of the Twerk Team have confirmed that dancer Betty Butt was fatally shot in an apartment complex outside of Atlanta.
A woman shot at a Cobb County apartment complex Wednesday afternoon has died, and three men have been arrested in connection to the incident.
Smyrna police spokesman Officer Chris Graeff said Wednesday night that the woman – one of two people shot at the Mission at Galleria Apartments – died as a result of her injuries. She was shot in the head and taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Channel 2 Action News reported that a man — the second person shot at the apartment complex — was treated at the scene after being shot in the side.
Three men have been arrested in connection to the shooting and a chase that ensued after the incident.
Graeff said that during the initial investigation into the shooting, authorities were told to look out for three men in a red Toyota Camry.
Shortly thereafter, a Smyrna officer got behind the vehicle on Cobb Parkway, which sparked a chase.
After traveling down Windy Hill Road and onto Interstate 75, Cobb police officers got involved in the pursuit, Graeff said.
The pursued vehicle then got onto Paces Ferry Road near Paces Mill Road in Vinings, where it struck a vehicle and overturned.
Twerk Team member Jamie a.k.a. Mizz Twerksum has since confirmed her passing on Instagram with a lengthy tribute post.
“I never thought I would be posting rip Betty I’m numb af right now . I could say so much but the most important thing is the last time we talked I told you I love you and you told me you loved me back that’s all that matters to me .
I just look back at how we started off friends in high school to starting something bigger than we all could have can imagined .
I remember us wrestling before every video and going to mc Donald’s splitting up the money we did have and balling out on the dollar menu me being underage sneaking into clubs and most off all us getting on each other nerves all the time being on the road days at a time working hard towards getting back home so we can shop and blow it all lol even the bad times I cherish it all every moment .
I knew you were going to have 100 kids lol you always loved kids I knew we were the dancing TLC and destiny child hahaha Yall always use to get mad when I said I was Beyoncé .
This just doesn’t feel real right now I don’t think it really ever will I cant stop crying just knowing I’ll never be able to talk or see you again .
In life we always say we’ll wait on the right time to make something right but when is the right time ? Life isn’t guaranteed . Rip Betty I love you Jamie
