Sasha and Malia Just Like All Kids…Neglecting Bo the First Dog

Rumor has it, our First Family has the same problem that almost all kids their age have, they wont do their part with the family dog, Bo:

Parents everywhere, take heart: Even the Obamas have trouble getting their kids to keep all the promises made when begging for a pet. “I got up at 5:15 a.m. in the morning to walk my puppy,” First Lady Michelle Obama said Thursday of Bo, the Portuguese Water Dog who joined the family Easter weekend, fulfilling President Obama’s campaign promise to daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7.

“Even though the kids are supposed to do a lot of the work, I’m still up at 5:15 a.m. taking my dog out. So for everyone who has a child asking for a puppy – you have to want the dog,” Mrs. Obama said to knowing laughter from a luncheon audience of congressional spouses. “As I do,” she added. “I love my Bo.” The First Lady also allowed a peek inside the more routine aspects of life in the White House, painting herself as just another Soccer Mom. “I feel like I’ve never left Chicago. Soccer on Saturday – yes, I’m on a soccer field all day just like many of you. Slumber parties. We had about seven girls over, screaming and yelling. And we’re shuttling kids back and forth to play dates, just like usual.”

As for Sasha and Malia, she reported: “The girls are happy and healthy. They love their school. They’re making friends. They’re getting good grades.”

We love hearing about how “real” this first family actually is. Those two girls are actually normal kids.

  • I am the one

    @Lisa Vee

    You can say that again!!

They can hire somebody to take care of that dog…the Bushes had a some guy whose job it was in the white house to walk, feed and take care of all the pets.

@ Sawyer…cosign! I had a strange but real fear these girls would end up spoiled. If I was Michelle, I would have made some ground rules: “You want a dog, you clean up that dog crap and wash it, feed it, etc…If you think I’m gonna do it, I will not be the one.”

I will whoop my kids. You ask for the dog? You take care of that dog! Kids need to learn responsibility…if you can’t take care of the dog, we will put it up for adoption. As a mother, the last thing on my mind is taking care of a got damn puppy. The hell out of here…

These girls are doing what all kids do. They love to play with the dog, but nobody wants to get up early before school to walk him. Typical. My brother and I were the same way, when we were their age. What kids w/pets aren’t?

Let these girls be little girls!

I am not worried about their upbringing because they are surrounded by a loving grandmother & family and 2 incredible parents.

I think Malia and Sasha will be just fine.

We did the same thing to my parents, but my dad ended up loving the dog more than us. It became his dog.

I don’t think the girls have to clean poop. They should have a dog nanny sometimes. Everybody with a dog and children deserves a dog pooper scooper nanny. I love the first black family. They are soo awesome. Children think of having fun with dogs, not scooping poop.

  • About it

Okay, so they don’t walk him in the a.m., but they probably walk him after school and after dinner. This is normal so what stuff. the dog is still a puppy. He will start relieving himself at 8:00 a.m. instead of 6:00 a.m. soon.

@Christmas Jones – I hear ya! My parents whopped my ass, and I became a better human being for it! Hell we had a dishwasher, but never used it. and when I asked why, my mom said “whats wrong with your hands?!” LOL!

@ Lisa – part of owning a dog is cleaning up after them. My little brother asked for a dog and he got one and he’s the one up at 5am to let him out to go to the bathroom and he’s the one walking him and he’s the one cleaning the crap up in the yard! Comes with the territory!

That dog got big quick, I remember it being a small puppy last month,(conspiracy)

They’re just normal children. I wouldn’t get mine up at 5 AM to walk the dog on a school morning either. But in the evening and on weekends, yep, they’ll get up. Trust me, the Obamas are raising responsible girls who will grow up to become responsible women. They are not spoiled little brats.
