Roseanne Barr recently got out of pocket and dissed Obama and Oprah. Someone must have forgot to buy her her daily dose of Big Mac’s:
barak obama is an empty suit selling “hope” in lieu of Truth. Oprah Winfrey helped to elect Arnold Swartzenegger. I have no doubt that she voted her purse by doing this, as she is a large land owner in California, and that ilk fears Dems because they do not want to pay their “fair share” of Cali tax. Oprah has given us Swartzenegger and Dr. Phil. If that was not offensive enough to decent thinking people, now she brings us Obama. He has no ideas, no plan and nothing to add other than the cynical pacification of the masses with bedtime stories about hope, while calling Unions “special interest groups” that need to be done away with.
Obama votes with Bush constantly funding this terrible endless war.
Oprah, you play the race card and the gender card too.
You are a closeted republican and chose Barak Obama because you do not like other women who actually stand for something to working American Women besides glamour, angels, hollywood and dieting!

During their debate the other night, Obama pointed out one of the reasons that I could NEVER vote for Hillary Clinton:
He pointed out that although BOTH favor Universal Health Care, under his plan children must be covered but ADULTS have a CHOICE to be covered, and by whom.
Under CLINTON’s Health Care plan, IF an ADULT DOES NOT CHOOSE A HEALTH CARE PLAN, they–and pay very close attention here–WOULD BE PENALIZED FINANCIALLY!?! Obama’s plan wouldn’t penalize adults for not doing so. Hillary’s plan is socialism at it’s worst.
One of the main reasons that Hillary’s plan for Universal Health Care during her husband’s first term hit a roadblock is because had it been enacted, it would have CRIMINALIZED doctors and patients who wanted to opt out.
There is, proverbially, no way in hell that she would ever get this citizen’s vote.

Prove that Oprah didn’t campaign for nor support Arnold Swartzenegger.
Prove that Obama didn’t vote with Bush on the war in Iraq. Then tell me why he voted for additional money for the war, but in 2005 he voted against more money for a low income energy *****istance bill.
Prove that the majority of Oprah’s top level employees isn’t white.
This should at least give you a start on researching and coming up with answers for yourself.

I’m pretty sure that Roseane know’s what she’s talking about. She has always been the “anti-celeb.” And she will speak exactly what the public doesn’t want to hear because it is targeted at there saviors’ Obama and Oprah. But, it would definitely make sense that Oprah would back Swartzenegger for financial purpose most weatlthy people do.
What’s ironic about her diatribe is that all of the things she accused Obama of doing, Hillary does. Hillary voted for the Patriot Act, to go to war with Iraq and every other policy that Bush has advanced since 2001. No one in the race has more corporate support than Clinton, even the CEO of Fox News is a Clinton supporter. Secondly, she has no right to tell Oprah who to vote for. And calling her racist because she supports Obama is ridiculous. Oprah has arguably done more for white people than she has ever done for blacks. And her final hypocrisy is to tell Oprah that she is voting for Obama just because he’s black and then tells her she should be voting for Hillary because she’s a woman. Roseanne is entitled to her opinion and she is entitled to vote for whoever she wants, but so is Oprah. You don’t have to slam one candidate because you favor another one. Oprah was out there supporting Arnold Swartzenegger to the fullest back in 2003 and 2004, and I was surprised because he is Republican and his views on education seem to contrast with Oprah’s. But then I found out that she and his wife Maria are very good friends and Oprah owns all that land out in Santa Barbra that I sure she doesn’t want to pay a lot of taxes for. As a resident of Cali I can tell you that Arnold is a terrible Govenor and he made more cuts to school budgets just this week! So before you guys go attacking Roseanne for her opinions we need to do some research because she might be telling some truths.

the reason people will be penalized if they do not have health insurance under this plan is that it is an incentive to sign up for a plan. What is happening in America right now is that people are not purchasing health insurance, even though they CAN afford it. Yes, they may have to get rid of a truck or two, or not put the jacuzzi in this year, or, god forbid stop working under the table! But, what is happening now is that people are not insuring themselves and family, sending them to the hospital when sick and sticking the hospital or taxpayers with the bill. Or, they end up with skyhigh medical bills that they cannot pay and have to declare bankruptcy. Medical insurance is a must have for either of these two reasons, but most dont realize it until they are in debt over their heads and have to get rid of everything they own. The extra money you have to pay every month isnt pleasant, and i am sure people would like to spend it instead, but health insurance is something that people are going to have to figure into their budget. Low income will still be subsidized, and you pay what you can afford. The people fighting this the most are people with their own businesses that rake in a ton of money, but dont insure themselves or their employees because it would mean a decrease in their bottom line. But the repurcussions of getting sick and not having insurance are not realized until it is too late.

I was in your boat a few years ago. I did not like Oprah because she appealed to whites more than blacks. But Oprah has risen herself up by her bootstraps and is doing very well. There was a girl at my college who received a scholarship from the Oprah’s foundation to go to school. She funds the Color Purple, The Great Debaters, and celebrates black culture. Her philantropy extends beyond color or borders and that is why I support her. She is not divisive like some of the people on this board.

Obviously Ms. Barr doesn’t know much about what she speaks becuase there is hardly any difference (politically) between Obama, Edwards, or Clinton. If you think that gay marriage is wrong (like many Black churches preach) then Obama might not be the candidate for you. Yet, Democrats will use pulpits in Black churches to pimp for votes. Bill Clinton in all his womanizing glory gained many of his votes from black church goers, even though they fundamentally disagreed with his actions and views. Don’t vote for someone simply because they are Black, or a Clinton, or any other trifling reason. Do your research on these people, and find out who best suits your views.

it amazes me how many people feel entitled to their uninformed opinions but neglect to take the time out to educate themselves. Simply because someone is black does not mean that they are well suited to for president. What baffles me even more is that many of you posting your opinions have no clue of what each candidate stands for if many of you are even registered to vote at all. Yes I spent the majority of my life growing up in the much rougher neighborhoods but that doesnt give me or any of you who are posting responses the excuse of not being well informed or choosing a rap cd over a book. What many of us African Americans dont understand is that we set ourselves back we poison our minds with trash and then look to others to blame for our lack of fortune. We hate on others who can seemingly speak complete sentences or act as if they are intelligent and claim that those are the ones who arent keeping it real. We watch BET and look up to people like Jay Z and Beyonce neglecting to realize that they sell a gimmic everything is smoke and mirrors and nothing is what is seems. While we are all thinking we have to get money and be hood and street like Jay Z or whoever is relevant at the time these stars are behind closed doors closing business deals doing what ever need be to conform to the image that we buy into that is nothing more than a facade. An educated person could clearly see that 85 percent of Oprah’s fan base is white and Obama (and everyone before p*****ing judgement please do your research) if elected is not for the embetterment of African Americans. Once again as I said before these people are thinking on a larger scale Oprah has a lot of money power and investments the candidate that she choose is for the imbetterment and longevity of her career. Black people when are we going to wake up and realize that while we are spending so much time hating, gossiping, trying to look fresh, faking, husslin, slinging drugs, killing each other, poisoning our bodies with the foods we eat and the trash we listen to we are setting ourselves futher back we are embracing stereotypes we will continue to struggle and the few of us who do get out of the hood inevitably will not look back. Personally, I wish that someone would be elected in that doesn’t need heavily financial backing or someone popular to convince the public of how great a person they are. A good candidate will stand out on his OR her own and not need someone in the media to tell everyone that they’re great. Actions, my friends, speak much louder than words. I’m not saying I agree with Roseanne, but the woman honestly should be left alone with her opinions as should the lot of Americans who pursue a more peaceful and liberated America.
In the end, people who talk all at once get lost in the noise of the chatter. Being quick to get angry and to judge and degrade someone isn’t right either. In fact anything that makes another person feel low about themselves isn’t considered right in my book, especially attacking other people just because they don’t quite share the same mindset as you. I used to be very involved with politics and anything government related. It was a fervent interest of mine until I’d flip on the TV and see politicians going at each other’s throats for the tiniest reasons. If they’re representing us to the world, then no wonder *****ody would be convinced to help someone who argues with anyone who has a difference in opinion. Are we just voting in someone who can argue hard and intimidate someone else to get what they want in the world?
Let’s face the music. The USA is just too different to survive as *****ody can embrace someone else’s differences and accept that’s the way they are. There’s always something we’re falling short of and then someone blames it on hatred and then turns around and becomes a hypocrite by hating somebody else for their difference.

The thing you should be asking is if the presidential candidates are qualified for a job where they get paid more than any of us probably EVER will. Would they do the job well or just slack off and make a partial attempt at it? Will they take the fact that millions of souls are depending on their good judgement to lead them towards a better quality of living?

Ok, yes Obama runs on “Hope” but if you tune in to all of the candidates, they are all running on theories of how they will make the “change” happen. We have been privy to an unprecedented mark in the history books. Two familes have been the presiding power for over a decade. The Bushes and the Clintons. It is time for a real “change” and time to move in another direction. I am going to roll with Obama until the wheels fall off.
Roseanne was always the crazy fortune teller lady who would say what no one else would dare (the truth). She knew Hollywood was Hollywierd way back in the day, spoke on it, and they pulled her talk show. Anybody here knew Oprah backed Schwarzennager? I didn’t. Roseanne is the ultimate Hollywierd outsider so if she says some off the wall ish, I’m at least gonna try to hear it. I am leaning strongly for Obama and very excited, even though Edwards is more on point about stopping the corporate takeover of America. There’s always been something real on point about Roseanne’s insight so don’t get mad folks, just take it in whether you agree or not.
Hate to admit it because I think Roseanne is nutty, but she’s not lying about McCain nor about Oprah backing Ah-nold’s run for Governor. I don’t know enough about Obama yet, but I’m still learning and checking his voting record as a Senator so far.
Something else to think about: how many billionaire Democrats even exist? And why DID Oprah back Arnold Schwarzenegger – a staunch Republican – for Governor of California?? It’s one thing for her to be friends with Maria Shriver (his wife and a Kennedy). But Arnold is NO Kennedy politically.
I was concerned about Obama because the Conservatives and media would wait until the right time – after he wins the Democratic nomination and it’s too late to turn back – to go from kissing his ***** to attacking him and his background full-on until the tide of public support turns against him and they go for a Republican on Election Day. I grew up in a predominantly Black city that elected the same Black mayor 2X. The first year, i understand why he was voted in. However..during his term, i only saw him in my neighborhood when he wanted our votes, and if he had a TV news crew trailing behind him to do*****ent his adventure in the ‘hood. He wasn’t interested in Black or White..just green.
A white woman ran against him the second term. She was on the City Council and had been for years and years. She was in our neighborhood at least 2X a month checking up on things, and actually talking to the people without asking them for a vote. I rarely saw a TV news crew following her around there, and when they did, it was always to a neighborhood community center that was run by Black people. Mind you..her behavior was the same years and years before she ran for Mayor. Anyway..he was re-elected, basically because he was Black and educated. Frankly, this city just fell apart with him as Mayor. To be fair, the crack epidemic hit our city later than it did a lot of other major cities, and it was during his term. However, he seemed out of touch with the people until damn near the end. The white woman was about providing extensive drug treatment and support systems to the communtites most in need. She was also tough on crime He wasn’t, at least not like she was. He was more concerned about the statistics the government was going to see, to the point where the numbers were played with.
I’m not saying the problems wouldn’t have still existed, but i do believe it wouldn’t have gotten and stayed as bad as it has. There are still people in office who came into power from his election, and we still deal with the effects of his tenure as Mayor.
I won’t say his name, but you can see the city every week on Showtime. That shyt isn’t just TV. More than a few of the characters and storylines are based on real people, real events, and real situations; the names have just been changed. Practically all of a mini-series about drug addictswho lived here was true-story and not dramatized.
I say that to say this: i love my people, but i’m more concerned about who’s going to do the best job running the country than anything else. Race doesn’t always matter. Clinton showed us that.
While i believe Obama is for us as Black people, i’m not voting for him. I’m not happy or proud to say it, but it’s the truth. His overall political agenda doesn’t mesh with mine as closely as Dennis Kucinich’s does. To me, Kucinich is the only candidate who is saying anything different from the other candidates, and his approach to certain issues is more inclusive for all than exclusive to some. Of course, that’s why you don’t hear very much about him, and the media acts as though he doesn’t exist. Obama was in the running for me until he flip-flopped on an issue in a big way. I wouuld like to share something with you all that will really broaden your minds and may change your perceptions of a lot of things. About 11 years ago I attended an elementary school located in washington d.c Clinton had just got elected into office he came to visit our school mostly for publicity to support his new ideas for changes he wanted to make in the D.C school system. (Many children werent performing up to standards academically and he came to our school to make a speech regarding his ideas for change if you dont believe me check the periodicals for the year of 1996 in Northwest Washington D.c) So he comes, he speaks and takes pictures. At the time I along with a few other black students came to him to ask him some questions and shake his hand and with out a second thought he totally disregarded the group of black children signaled for someone to bring over a white child smiled for the camera and completely ignored all the minority students. Although extremely young I remembered being told that Clinton was a democrat that supported the minorites as well as all others so as his security was leading him out of the building I ran up to him again to try to shake his hand. Once again I was totally disregarded. Sometimes all things that appear to be for our benefit doesnt quite pan out that way. At that point I learned that it wasnt about the embetterment of all people its was about a hidden agenda. Do the research Clinton has known for years that Hilary was going to run for president its all about the votes if you can convince others that you are in their corner you can guarantee votes. If we all sit down and really think about it really what did Clinton really do beyond the minimum to follow through on his promises in lieu of supporting the lower cl***** nothing. If I recall correct when Clinton was presiding in office one of the first threats made regarding September 11th was made while he was presiding office. He did nothing. Clinton promised to decrease the budget deficit and promised to make more provisions for medical insurance for the poor and elderly. A lot of people tend to lose sight with the perpetuated smoke and mirrors dust that is thrown in our faces. We all no that Bush is a dud and is merely in office to finish what his father started to him it is business. Its all about investments and self preservement. We all know this. For Clinton we all believe that because of his infidelities that somehow makes him more human and relatable. But in essence he is nothing more than a closeted racist using African Americans for secured votes so that he and his wife can follow through on their plans to both be elected as president and fulfill their own prosperities and hidden agendas that we will all become aware of in due time. First of all Dina I do no address bloggers directly. If you have something to say, write it, do not get personal. You obviously did not understand what I wrote. Yes, Barack is running as Dem. But (if you read carefully) if he gets the Dem. Nomination, he may not win the Presidential election, and if he does not win, we would end up with a Republican President. Because there will only be two candidates one Democrat one Republican. As you stated, no you are not a college grad and you do not seem to know anything about the electoral process in our country. I am speaking as in insider. I’m just trying to p***** along knowledge. And if you would have read more carefully, I stated I would love to see Obama as President, but now is not the time. We need more experience, people who know how to play the game. This is more important than race; it is the future of our country. And the majority seems to agree with me so go back and study the electoral process before you attempt to comment on something you obviously know very little to nothing about.
