Your respectability politics will NOT save you…
Niecy Nash Blasted Over Sagging Pants Tweet
In the wake of the unrest in Ferguson for the non-indictment of Darren Wilson, Niecy Nash has decided to bring up respectability politics to lecture black people about why “we’re not taken seriously.”
The comedian whose opinion on serious matters is NEVER really needed or wanted started, by posting the below meme of men in suits v.s. youth wearing sagging pants that was captioned “When they took us seriously, why they don’t now.”
You…big…dummy.
Unfortunately for her, her twitter followers quickly came through to school her and noted that attire is not the issue, but institutionalized racism—the same racism that got Martin Luther King assassinated while wearing a suit.
Twitter is now continuing to bash her relentlessly for her poorly timed and extremely dense respectability politics rant.
See what else fans had to say and Niecey’s response after the flip.
