A recent article says some jealous and “old-timer” Black leaders are still hating on Obama after his first 100 days in office more

  • Encyclopedia Brown

Uh, McCain isn’t going to run again..not as the header on the ticket, at least. You only get one shot, and he lost it.

Palin in 2012…I pray for a meteorite the size of Jupiter to hit the US dead on should that nutjob make it in.

  • Patrick

I support Obama, but not 100%

He’s wrong on wiretapping, and on support for single payer healthcare.

we need to abolish the insurance companies and nationalize healthcare.

    @Patrick

I agree with you on nationalize healthcare but it’s never going to fly. Too many people are making too much money.

If he seriously tried to go that route, you can bet one of whatever you have two of that he’s a dead man walking and will be assassinated. Biden as well should he try to follow suit.

  • Lady Next Door

According to NewAmericaMedia(dot)com, Reverend Jackson said in a telephone interview from Thailand that he gives the Obama an “incomplete” on his first 100 days as president. “There are some As and a couple of incompletes,” he said. “There’s an incomplete on the stimulus because it must be more targeted to get to the bottom. As the states get it, they’re using the term “shovel-ready.” But, shovel-ready for those who don’t have a shovel because of the lack of capital and lack of credit means they may not be ready. That could be seen as boot straps without the boots.”

Tavis Smiley was also among those who did not support Barack Obama and allegedly quit the Tom Joyner Morning Show due to all the flack he caught from listeners who supported the democratic rockstar. Smiley spoke about Obama’s first 100 days with CBS’s Harry Smith, but mainly used the airtime to promote his book called Accountable. This is what he said: “What this book, ‘Accountable,’ does, Harry, is lays out 242 promises that candidate Obama made on the major issues that matter to most Americans. You can follow along on these major issues, promises made ought to be promises kept. Here’s the short answer, at the rate he’s moving right now, he will have a completion rate of about 66% at the end of his first term, given the major promises he made on the major issues. That said, while he has signed seven major bills into law in the first 100 days, that’s seven more than George Bush did in his first 100 days, that’s still a grade of a ‘D’ at 66%.”

The most flagrant criticism came from Republican representative Alan Keys, who lost the Illinois Senate race to Obama in 2004 and made a bid for the 2008 presidential race to no avail. Keys even refuses to acknowledge Obama as the president. This is what he had to say in an interview with KHAS-TV, “Obama is a radical communist, and I think it is becoming clear. That is what I told people in Illinois and now everybody realizes it’s true. He is going to destroy this country, and we are either going to stop him or the United States of America is going to cease to exist. Is he president of the United States? I’m not sure he’s even president of the United States.”

    My response goes as following:

    Jesse Jackson

How much can Barack Obama do for the black community if they are unwilling to do it for themselves? He is doing the best to help everyone, and he said that blacks are disproportionately represented in poverty; his stimulus would directly affect the folks living pay check to pay check-but what about the opposition from crazy conservatives like Alan Keyes? why don’t you do more to have reading programs, Jesse?

Tavis Smiley, you’re being unfair to the President. Yeah, this is 100 days but things take time, and even Barack admitted that about Washington. He is not superman; he doesn’t have an easy button!

Give him a chance! He is trying the best he knows how….

  • me (the original)®

    @ Smoovee

He’s a troll. His reason for saying it is because he wants to piss people off ;)

  • Smoovee Sayz

    @ Me…

lol no worries McCain is going to retire anyday now…
    In regard to Palin…
Ima need ppl running for Pres/Vice Pres to know all 7 continents
and that Africa really is one of them.
Palin is trailer park trash at its best.

  • DATPHILYGIRL

They once said a black man would become president “when pigs fly”, I Be Damned 100 days into Obama’s Presidency….SWINE FLU!!

  • sara lee

The hell we do need to nationalize healthcare! No way! I don’t like the way the gov’t runs sh** now, I def. wouldn’t want them over my health.

Tavis and Jackson and Johnson are nothing but attentions seeking, MLK wannabe, frauds, well Jackson is for the most part. I’ll add Sharpton in there too. Johnson created a billion dollar industry and sold it to the highest white bidder to now become one the worst reflections of the black community.

They are jealous cowards who seek to bring more attention to their own agendas then those of there own community. 100 days ain’t sh**, especially when the last administration messed up the financal system. Plus, he has healthcare (SWINE FLU), and other random sh** that people keep throwing at him thinking he is messiah and instantly fix it. I’ll judge him 2012 when his term is over. If he gets another one I’ll judge him 2016.

  • Caramel Cat (formerly c from stl)

Messy Jesse and all the rest of these crabs in a barrell….when will they learn that you cannot polarize people in order to get ahead…**sigh**

  • SweetSable

Is it just me or does Jessie resemble E.T…….he needs to phone home and stay there.

  • Binary Star

that “article” has no byline which usually means it’s not really worth reading.

  • Butterscotch

Tavis Smiley took the cake the other day by saying on the CBS Early Show that, at the rate Obama’s going, his actions will eventually merit only about a D (on the A to F grade scale). Still hating as usual. I don’t agree with all Obama’s decisions, but he is making decisions for the whole country, not just one segment.

  • Smoovee Sayz

    @ Ronald…

I hear you but you still didnt state what a white man has over a black man (FORGET about the strength/length of his baby maker…) when it comes to running the country/being up in the white house???

  • Caramel Cat (formerly c from stl)

Tavis Smiley is a whining b1tch who is getting paid off by the Clinton’s….everyone knows this, Bobby Johnson too. Alan Keyes…I have no comment whatsoever towards his remarks because he is irrelevant…

  • bluekid

There was a white man who once said a black man would never be president until pigs fly. Swine flu is flying!

  • biz_chic_

Messy Jessie with the Love Child wants to cast stones. GMAFB

  • biz_chic_

    that was @ caramel cat

  • Caramel Cat (formerly c from stl)

    @biz_chic_

Pretty much, that’s why he wanted to cut his n@ts off because he felt Obama was talking down to HIM, and took some comments that were supposed to help uplift a community as personal….smh

  • chaka1

    Two words for the haters…

    F* YOU!

  • chaka1

We are the only race with all this dissension and keep showing our asses. Had Obama been Jewish, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, or Hindu – all his people would fallen right in line.

Black people make me sick sometimes.

  • Moreaces

Not a very good pic of Jess

  • Moreaces

    @Lady Next Door,,, Nice Post

  • About it

    @Chaka:
You know other races think/say that Black ppl stick together? I think it is all where we each are standing at the moment.

From my little corner of the world, even though Andrew Young is in that “old-school, hatin’ on Obama clique” he put Obama onto the road to the presidency. It was made the crack at a Hillary fundraiser that “Bill Clinton was more black than Obama because he had slept with more black women.” All the sistas I knew, myself included, were like, “I know the brutha (Obama) won’t win, but this bougie n*cca Young ain’t gonna get away with this sh*t” We all voted Obama, and didn’t even know who he was.
    …………And the rest is history.

And Jesse need to visit his daughter more. The 11 year old one.

  • About it

It was made the crack at a Hillary
    ___________
My bad: it was that crack he made at the Hillary fundraiser

  • Silken Dove

More people love Obama than hate him. Therefore, this is irrelevant.

  • me (the original)®

    Uh oh!

GET YOUR TIN HATS READY FOLKS!

  • mscayennepeppa

    * News Flash for the Public*- Reverend Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and many more are masons. Look it up. So is your “god like” Obama. What does this mean? That they all are puppets to the system. Look up the word Boule.

  • Harlem Chic

Not only did Obama slaughter the Rethugs he did it without the so called support of the Puppet black leadership….

The implication of his presidency are huge…no more blaming the man…and no more poverty pimps selling victimization to the highest bidder. Obama is the cream and he rose to the top.

Lack of Individual responsibility is what keeps black folks down…

I like Dr.Cornell West, why are you hating on him?

    What did he do?

  • bhudda

    TO = TOO

  • ThinkingBlackGirl

some of you people are stuck on stupid. Why is it when anyone questions Obama they are hating? Why can’t people have a legitimate reason to disagree with his issues or views. I bet less then half the people commenting here know who their local state rep is. Sad…

I think it’s still too early to evaluate Obama’s presidency – after all, it’s been just 100 days. But you know, I think so far so good – much better than Bush. I don’t believe that this (or any other presidency) can be any worse than Bush’s. It just doesn’t get worse than that. I support Obama’s decisions on Guantanamo Bay. I’m still, however, waiting for him to deliver on his promise to end the war in Iraq.

  • Natalie

Who cares what those old, ugly ass, washed up men think anyway….They all need to get laid and a life……NEXT!

President Obama is the CLOSEST to a Black president that you will get this CENTURY

    A half WHITE/half AFRICAN Man

SO you either LOVE IT or LUMP IT

From HEREAFTER the PRESIDENCY will return to the WHITE FOLKS

  • Divine

Jesse Jackson and Tavis Smiley are reaching for relevancy.
Jesse is jealous. Tavis was on the wrong side of history and now he’s trying to “hold Obama accountable to the black community”
PLEASE, Spare us from your shenanigans. I personally didn’t ask either one of them to do anything on my behalf.
He’s doing fine and he’s doing better than anyone could have done with the mess G Dubya and Darth Chenney left us in.

  • Elana

If it were not for the civil rights movement, then none of this would have been possible(a chance for a black person to become the President). The older generation was there marching being beaten, hosed, jailed, and murdered so that we all can enjoy the freedoms that we have. It really isn’t necessary to denigrate the older generation to express an opinion. They have earned the right to express there opinion, although I do not agree with it. I support Barack Obama.

  • silversurfer

I’ve Said It B4, and I will say it again: (Cause My Momma Taught Me about it) “CRABS IN A BUCKET, JUST CRABS IN A BUCKET” Mentality.
