Houston Pediatrics Resident Has Been Missing For A Week

Another young black woman has gone missing, this time in Houston.

According to NY Daily News reports:

Family and friends of a missing Houston doctor are desperately seeking for answers after the young woman mysteriously failed to report to work on Monday.

Dr. Fehintola (FT) Omidele, a 25-year-old pediatrics resident at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, was last seen by her family following a Sunday night dinner, according to local reports.

When her family received word that she didn’t come in to work the next morning, they found her cell phone inside her Houston apartment but her dark-gray 2011 Toyota Camry missing outside.

t’s been four or five days, is not like her at all,” family friend Dr. Omonele Nwokolo told KHOU.

Houston police said there are no signs of foul play but their investigation is ongoing.

he Nigerian born doctor, whose bright smile is described as matching her endearing personality, first came to the U.S. with her family at the age of eight, the Houston Chronicle reported.

She was right away a star student, graduating high school at the age of 16 with a 4.3 grade point average before going on to study biology and child development at the University of Texas at Austin.

From there she earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, all before she was of age to legally drink alcohol.

“I’ve always loved children,” she told the Chronicle for a profile piece in April. “I’m drawn to them. Personally, I consider myself a kid at heart. In college, I worked at the child development center.”

Anyone with information on her whereabouts or disappearance is asked to contact the Houston police department’s missing person’s line at 713-731-5223.

We’re praying she is found soon safe and sound.
