Well I did the same thing when looking for my future hubby, and thank God I found him… I encourage my single girlfriends to look at a man’s heart, instead of his looks and wallet (although an educated and professional brotha is best). Some of my friends will go on a date and later say “he’s nice but he’s just not my type.” Either he’s too short or not exactly “fine” in the look department. My reply is always, “How’s his heart?”

Allow me to elaborate…

Black women have made do without men because often times they have had no choice. Black men were taken from homes or left. So yes, when there isn’t a man around, you have to do what you have to do.

The issue is that people have taken that “I don’t need a man” and turned it into a weapon used by and against black women.

Black women need love, support, and protection just like other women. The issue is often times it isn’t given in the way that is needed.

Im dating a guy with tons of money but thats not why im dating him. Im in love with him. But he wont know that because he’s probably caught up in dumbass lists like this. I don’t wear a weave either lol
