It’s not that people are giving Halle a free pass, but that she’s a grown ass woman. I personally think she’s a bit delusional, but maybe not too much where she cannot raise a child. Also, Halle has made a career for herself (and her money) all on her own, as opposed to Solange who is getting “family” support…..so it’s not the same thing. Besides, Halle hasn’t even had he baby yet, so of course she’s still in the stage where it’s cute, cause people thing pregnant women are. All in all, this isn’t just about being a single parent, this is about the age different. Halle is in her 40′s and Solange got pregnant at 16 or 17….big difference. I personally don’t agree with being a single parent, but Halle is in better condition to be, than Solange. Solange has barely even lived her own life to find out who she is as a person….Halle has.

I also like how people are blasting Solange about not providing a stable life and thinking having kids are a blast while giving Halle a free pass. Lets face it, when you have money raising babies isn’t hard. But kids seeing the examples of these will not think that because the media only shows the highly polished, make up fixed pics demostrating how easy it is.

I hate when people trivialize the work involved in parenting. Most 14 year old mothers don’t “snap to it.” Most 28 year old mothers don’t even do that and only figure things out with a second child because they know what doesn’t work from experience. If more people said “these kids are driving me crazy but I love them,” fewer completely unprepared people would be having kids. I see all these moms on the trains yelling at and hitting their young kids. Unlike Solange, many girls and women don’t have the money and strong family to support them.
