She is beautiful. She looks better than most of those blonds hands sown…I think this may have had something to do with O being elected and all…everybody trying to jump on the “black” band wagon!

She is not African, Africans do not consider mulattoes African… She is a mulatto, and thus not African. To be african your father and mother have to be african. And she is not chocolate… she is cafe latte. I dont think that African-American should dictate what being African is for Africans.

Aw good for her, although I wouldn’t consider her the first African simply because a)Africa is a continent, b) even though that may be her nationality she clearly doesn’t represent the typical Tanzanian c) she has been here long enough to adopt an American accent d)she’s half-Swedish, and e) her name is Ida Lundquivst…or something. I just feel most Tanzanians would not identify with her….so my point: Hugh needs to appoint a dark brown lady as the POY and then call the press.

Ida is 27 years old, her father is Swedish, and her mother is Tanzanian.

As for those of you that have stated that education is the key.

I went to school with Ida- she was at the International School of Tangayika (IST). I remember that her father was a diplomat at that time. He must be so proud.
