Jermaine Dupri is showing his creativity as a business man by launching a cafe, a line of vodka, and a hotel chain, Hotel D. He was really thinking outside of the box. We doubt that other music moguls possess this type of originality.

Amazing…I saw he had a personal blog on Interracialchatting.com with his hot pictures and blog, a private site for diversely ethnic singles. The blog is updated very often. I think it may be ture.

  • emancipationofnini

Everyone is trying to follow in Jay-Z’s footprints. I remember when it was not cool to be commercial. I’m glad people started to wise up. Those same ones talking about people selling out are the ones sitting back broke. Get money, it’s 2008 after all!

  • Becky

Only stupid ghetto trash would buy any of this rubbish. Just because he is Jermayne Dupri he has to be good at making vodka and running a hotel? stupid ghetto mentality. and he looks like a dork anyway

  • Becky

    Jermaine

  • 504 states: retire the word “hate” in ’08

KEEP UP THE BUSINESS SENSES !!! FIRST TIME HEARING ABOUT A BLACK OWNED HOTEL….HOPE IT DOESN’T GO FROM HOTEL TO MOTEL !

  • http://yahoo.com Southern Belle 225

Good for JD. It does seem that he is biting off of Jay but so what. Jay aint a bad guy to bite when it comes down to making money. There is enough money to go around so I’m glad to see that another brother will be able to take advantage of that.

  • Lauren

Hotel D? Thats pretty wack but congrats to him!

  • NIC

Are you serious??????????? Jay-Z has killed the game with creative business ventures. This dude already has a hotel in the works, stadium, sport teams, and has invested in a ton of other stuff. JD is playing follow the leader. Dame Dash had a vodka first and now Puff has one too.

Where does the creativity come in?????????????/

  • bree

damn seems like everything Jay-Z does Jermaine follows..wow..the only thing Jermaine did first was produce

  • PaigeyWaigey **I got a Jones in my Bones** BONES #1 Stunna!!

Seriously? Is that all rappers can think to invest their money into is liquor, sex (Magic Stick Condoms), and hotels to do it all in? How about building a community health facility? A school? A transporation company catering to single parents and the elderly? ETC ETC ETC!!! I’m tired of MF’s giving away shoes and bikes to kids like their doing something, how about books? A damn bicycle can’t get you good grades.

    HUH!??!!

  • Shay

Yes, Jermaine is definitely a follower, never the leader or innovator, so unoriginal, like a “litte” troll puppet, he’s annoying…what a loser…

  • http://www.celebpsychic.blogspot.com celebrity psychic

Jermaine needs to come see me for a psychic reading. He’s thinking a little too large!

Come in for your own psychic reading!

    http://www.celebpsychic.blogspot.com

  • Shay

@Paige,I agree w/you why not invest in our future, something to make life better for someone esle, instead of being so freakin selfish…

  • Nikki

I find it very hard to believe that JD would so obviously copy Jay’s every move. But if he did, so what. He could do alot worse than following behind Jay. That man is definitely a go-getta.

  • DC_REALEST

duh….Jay Z is already on that hotel, vodka, clothes, sports team, etc

  • Dalia (Take That Pic Of Lil Kim Down!)

Dang, when a “bot” makes the first comment on a site, it is time to seriously think about leaving.

As for Jermaine, I wish him all the luck with his ventures. It’s good to see black men doing things like this.

  • Mo’Ree

    rotfl!!!!!!!!!!

  • nicole

    who gives a rats ass!!!Next!

  • Strong Black Man

    @BONES WHAT UP!?!

  • V

It seems like they are trying to keep their money on the higher end of society. I doubt that I would stay at “Hotel D” and he is wrong for that name – for real. Maybe its a hybrid of The W & Hotel Derek.

*I bet if any celebs decide to stay there they will be getting comped & hooked up and whatever dummy that decides to patronize/high side will be paying full price & getting taxed.

What about the people that are from low SES that spend all their hard earned money on their ish? I know it would be really nice if they were to have summer camps, prep programs, or hell something with students. How nice it would be if they did mentoring or internships…

  • SIX Shooter (WHOMP)

@ Becky You seem to have no love black people, so why do you take such interest in all these posts about blacks day & night & post constantly? Are you having inner conflict because of your fascination with all things black? Do you want to be blacked? Whats going on?

  • SIX Shooter (WHOMP)

@ Becky I should have said no love for black people, but nevertheless, whats going on?

  • help me

    he’s a bit of a midge but I’d still hit…carry on…

  • SIX Shooter (WHOMP)

As to the post. Good for him. He likes it I love it.

  • CubaLinda~

    Uhhh…. JayZ is not the first person to invest in a sports team, entertainment lounges, hotels, liquor etc. There have been hundreds if not thousands of people before him that ventured off in to these markets successfully. He too is following someone else’s lead and certainly has a financial advisor building up his portfolio. So what is wrong with another Black man creating an umbrella of wealth for himself too?? Niether of these people {Jay, Puff, Dash etc} invented the wheel and they certainly didnt corner the market, so there is always room for another person to step in to the mix. When Brad Pitt decided he would open a hotel, no one said he was jacking George Clooney. Britney Spears didnt get accused of jacking Elizabeth Taylor when she decided to launch a fragrance. But we allow ourselves to be stifled b/c we dont want to be accused of “following” someone else as though investing wisely is a badd thing…. {I’m hungover so I hope I articulated my point, but since I am in a stupor I may have just dropped gibberrish.}

  • ONE BETTER

    @ Becky.

If you are so opposed to the Hip Hop lifestyle stay off this page. You are a hater!!! If you are Black (which clearly you are not) that is self hate. If you are White the word is called ENVY. I wish that you would love yourself and stop trying to block someones shine. Those ideals are redundant but he can do that…you can not…loser!!!

  • Strong Black Man

lol Becky isn’t real..It’s Unkle Krakka and Marquies De Sade..

  • Becky

I come here because this blog is not just about hip-hop. Many of the celebrities I like are actually black…like Beyonce and Rihanna so I like to know about them. I don’t have hate for black people (thats just racist) & i don’t envy other races. I was just pointing out some of the dumb things they do that some of you like to ignore. And just because I don’t like the hip-hop lifestyle doesn’t mean I don’t like hip-hop. I have listened to Nas and Jay-Z and Big Pun and actually one of my favorite films is Save the last dance (its about hip-hop music) I just hate to see people being ignorant

  • Becky

Strong Black Man you sound like a total douchebag. You think you’re being sooo smart and soo funny but you’re really not. Just because I’m white you’re calling me an Unkle Kracka when I haven’t even said anything to you? U SUCK

  • Momo

Now if only he could look like a mogul instead of looking like someone half his age…

  • Salty Beans

I agree Momo…it does help to have some kinda height.

  • http://deleted keith

i dont knock jd for his business ventures, but to say he is unoriginal is an understatement. when krisskross came out everybody knew they were a naughty by nature ripoff.when da bat came out everybody knew she was a snoopdog rip off. when biggie was out they also coattailed him,and when he passed away jd hopped on jay-z.even bowwow came off as a snoopdog minime when he first came out.jermaine wants the same respect russelsimmons has, but when you make kiddie rap all your life you cant have that respect. but im not knockin his business ventures, no.

  • Becky

    Just Sit and Be Pretty

I bet no one apart from you knows what a closing parenthesis is! :-) You must be and English Language major or something

  • Kesha

I am all for black folks establishing wealth instead of living by the “get rich or die trying” mantra but he pro’ly shoulda consulted a few more people before he decided “Hotel D.”

  • Just Sit And Be Pretty

LOL @ Becky, no English major, I just assume that we all learned some basic things in school, no?

  • Just Sit And Be Pretty

LMAO, ummm, y’all realize that “Becky” is NOT a white chick, right?

  • ONE BETTER

    @ Becky

I am the first person to recognize ignorance. That’s why I am focused on you. OH you have seen Save the Last Dance…that makes you a hip hopper. Miss me with that. You were probably disgusted at the romance that had developed. You are the white girl that wears braids. There was a comment about black dick…I dont think about dick all day, but you lust for it. You wish you had round breasts and some form of ass. You would love to know how to dance. You might work at TNT Tanning to get some color to your dry pale skin…I’m just saying.

FALLBACK CAUSE YOU DONT WANT REC!!!

  • dubya

somebody please tell me what Jay-Z’s done that’s original as well?

  • SIX Shooter (WHOMP)

@ Just Sit And Be Pretty

    Yeah, that makes sense.

    Peace.

  • never

    @ QG&#@?

That is the most profound statement of 08 thus far!!!

  • Dalia (Take That Pic Of Lil Kim Down!)

  • Laura

Why not be creative and come up with some music?

  • da darkness

maybe brokeback cowboys can go stay there and watch the New York Football Giants win another superbowl and watch them cry in jubille. lol

  • the diva

looks like he is copyin jigga man… doesn’t jayz do all that and has a line of hotels cominb out called ” hotel j”?.. nice business move but it loks a little copy catish to me, especially snce jayz’s business venture was on the news more than a month ago

  • and another one…….

Jermaine looks like Gayoriaon in that pic all bundled up in his scarf – what is it with these damn scarfs? Do you JD stay away from adlibbing (oh, so so def) u be straight.

  • CubaLinda~

I am not worried about the name of his hotel… Its not like I will ever afford to stay there since they cater to the Hollyweird types. He’s just branding his name is all, I am sure people thought Sam Walton was a cornball for naming his store Wal-Mart. What a dumb idea!! {pls note the sarcasm…}.

  • NubianGoddez

SMH at his lack of originality and creativity. damn did Arafat leave a will? willing his ugly scarfs to these brain dead rappers.

  • JB

Getn money what he knows so so getn more money what hes gonna do

  • Corree

i agree 500% with Paige. You are sooo right.

  • Jermaine Dupri Scarf

    I find your comments offensive.

  • Narkotic5 Anonymou5

what’s funny is ROC from Newark and people always sleep on the fact that he prolly spent day and night mimicking Jay ass to sound like that…Yeah JD need a “Hoe Sit Down”

  • PRTTYBRWNGIRL

Seriously? Is that all rappers can think to invest their money into is liquor, sex (Magic Stick Condoms), and hotels to do it all in? How about building a community health facility? A school? *****************************************************

Nelly came back to the STL and did alot of things for the community… he opened up a rec center for teens, etc .. also Tyrese has made a HUGE impact on his community when he opened up the Watt Center for adolescents.. he talked about kids giving in to the street because they had nothing better to do after school… had a ground breaking ceremony and everything

  • andie

    But will they work?

    I highly doubt it.

  • Bronx Brawler

In the 90′s JD was the son of Puff. He jacked all Puff’s moves including making Da Brat a knock off of Mase.

  • da darkness

jd is major honor how he personally got the A poppin i saw the billboard of the afro man on I85. he a partner in all the rap out there from all over

  • http://gorgeousblackwomen.blogspot.com Gorgeous Black Women

Is that MAC Lipglass that he’s wearing?

  • QG&#@

JD, you been a sucka. You aint creative. you made millions off of mimmicking creative people. You started off earlier mimmicking your pops. You aint doing nothing but good Kareoke dick head.

  • Coop

    @Becky

Lots of people bankroll hotels but they bring in someone like the Marriot corporation to run them. So because a rapper owns it does not mean it will be “ghetto” it all depends on who they bring into to operate it. Did you know that Marriot runs the Ritz-Carlton and that even high end hotels only cost about $17 dollars a day up keep per room? This is a very smart move for him and Jay-z.

  • imrightdammit

    @paigey waigey,

Did you suggest that rappers start a school or something? That’s funny. Most of those idiots didn’t even finish high school and could care less about educating our people. Because if brothers and sisters were EDUCATED, they would realize that they shouldn’t be listening to the garbage they put out! Rappers start liquor, motel, condom companies because all they are interested in is DRINKING AND F#CKING!

  • Yadadamean?

Hotel D??? he could do better than that.

That hotel is gonna be decked out fa sho though..

  • tintin

how come no one wants to open up a school or something important. how many damn more hotels do they need in the states. i ‘m sure that hotels don’t run out of space when the rappers come in town

  • Ghost

    @Tintin

A school would be harder to open depending on the state. You have to prove that the school is better than public schools. I know plenty of black charter schools and nobody wants to send thier kids there. Many of those kids at charter schools are just trying to graduate by any means or have been kicked out of public schools or can’t pass state tests. There are two good ones and one is recognized by the state and the other has support because it requires all its kids to learn about African history for all grades.

A grocery store-key issue is PRICES of foods. One of the most successful brothers (William’s Chicken-you know you’re good when you go into white neighbors and put Churchs & KFC out of business) in Texas tried opening his own grocery store. It had one of his resturants in it. It was gone in a year. Why? PRICES were too high. Why would I pay 2 bucks for cake mix that Minyards sold for 82 cents?

Bank-We have a black bank and VERY few folks do business with it. Why? Location-why have a bank near a motel with a weed garden next to it, an alternative school for at risk kids, a ultra ghetto bizarr? been robbed 5 times? next a funeral home? and no bus line? Plus how many black folk trust a local bank with thier money?

A hotel can make money without a single bedroom getting rented. How many are used for meetings? Proms? or other events? Now add in the tourist tax that they have to charge and you’ll be in business.

Now there is nothing preventing JD or others from funding the building of a new school. The founder of Proline bought Bishop College’s old land for Paul Quinn College. Or give money for the building of a school like Erika Badu did for Booker T. Washington.

The best thing for our folks to do is buy franchises and save that money to eventually open another business. Like the Williams Chicken guy, he was a Church’s employee.

  • Machine

He’s just branding his name is all, I am sure people thought Sam Walton was a cornball for naming his store Wal-Mart. He was said to have a personal account on the hot diversely ethnic singles club interracialloves.com, with his hot pictures and blog there. Quite a few hot girls and ladies winked and emailed him.
