all people should be able to date whomever they please.

One needs to understand that more than likely these black men were born from a black mother and it is a slap in the face to his mom, his sisters and the black women around him. when he only dates outside of his race. the same goes for other races I am sure.

But Black women should let this go and concentrate on empowering themselves and taking care of our selvs. There are men of all races that truly like the company of a black woman. we come from queens so let's be Queens!!!

@ Vinandi

I confess I do have a bias here. I was born and raised in Nigeria before I moved to the US. No reasonable person (including myself) would deny that many Nigerians give Nigeria a bad name but for every Nigerian drug dealer or scam artist, there are at least ten Nigerian doctors, lawyers, engineers, scientist etc that are contributing to various countries around the world including Zambia. So if people choose to focus on the negatives that is their problem. Remember, hatred does not affect the hated. It affects the hater.

Regards,

@ junglecat

1) “You claim to be educated but form an opinion about over 140 million Nigerians based on your interaction with a few Nigerians you met on campus.”

Correction, my opinion on Nigerians is based on 25 years of life experience, do you know that 1 in every Black Africans is Nigerian? Fact! I interacted with Nigerians, when I studied in Zambia, South Africa and in the United Kingdom- and even have a brother-in-law who as a Nigerian regularly shares his despair of his country’s plight!

Fair enough I concede that not All Nigerians are corrupt, and a considerable proportion of bad eggs have spoilt it for the majority, but YOU will be hard pushed to find out of every 4 Africans, 3 who don’t share that point of view, sad but true! Hence the reason why their new President had to take out several adverts in the Washington Post, International Herald Tribune, Financial Times et al… highlighting the issues and his plan of action, in order to restore FDI confidence! I am not making this up!

3) “I am an ivy-league educated attorney, so forgive me if I am under whelmed by your educational accomplishments. Unlike you, I know one can be an educated idiot” –

I am currently doing my MSc in Development Studies and Poverty Reduction at a Red Brick University, so go figure! And well done you, high five for your Ivy League Law degree and I hope one day you will return back to Ghana, to give back to your people, as I intend to do!

4.”I have dated white men in that past and I have nothing against interracial dating (only self-haters like yourself) “-

I find it extremely amusing, that the fact that I date inter-racially makes me a self-hater according to you. I am sure the rationale is very clear in your head, but I suspect that the bottom line really, is that you are very upset that I spoke disparagingly about Nigeria; tell me junglecat are you lying about your nationality? I seem to have hit a raw nerve, right about there! Are you or are you a Babatunde???

5) “Other than South African, can you tell me how many African countries have the strong economy that Nigeria has? “

Angola and other Sub Saharan States, including Zambia have actually over the last 5 years have experienced an increase in their economic growth above a rate of 4% per annum.

Look Nigeria is an oil producing state, their GNP will always be significantly higher than other African states, fact!

However, according to the Gini Co-Efficient the disparities between the rich and the poor are extremely wide and increasing and the money is not trickling down to the people who need it. More than 80 % of the 140 million populace live below the poverty datum line, in a country with the one of the highest GNP’s in Africa. Even you must agree that is not making the most of the wealth and opportunity of that nation?

6) “ Yes I partly blame the West for the plight of Africa and that is why unlike yourself I am not so eager to embrace the idea of globalism and what it means for Africa.”

I reiterate, I am eager to embrace the inter-racial dating opportunities, which are part and parcel of living in an increasingly globalised world.

I believe that my negative opinion on Western economic models, in particular Neo-Liberalism, Neo-Colonialism and Neo-Imperialism as perpetuated by the current Bush administration is blatantly evident! I am all about home-grown African economic solutions as proposed by the African Union, and Southern African Development Community as a means of stimulating economic growth, that benefits all aspects of society!

7) “So in conclusion, do the continent of Africa a favour and go play in traffic”.

I have to say that that is a very mature conclusion from an “Ivy League” educated lawyer, your professors will be so proud!

What I will do instead is go to the kitchen and cook myself some yam and trotters with okra!! Delicious!!

And by the way, no hard feelings, we actually do agree on a few things!

Plus good Luck in the African Cup of Nations, its great when the host nation does well and I am big Sully Muntari fan!!
