I dont know about being platinium, im sure she is. I know that in terms of number she sold what 4 millions of albums (4/2 means 2 millions of PEOPLE actually bought it at some point)?? maybe a little more now? This is why im asking where are all hr stands. Beyonce should sell 10 millions of albums at least that is what her stans are letting us know by saying she is the best!

As for the movies, good for her!!
It seems as though her fans were sleeping when she did cadiallac record and the other movies. Its good they actually decide to support her NOW if that is what is happening. Since Idris elba may have something to do with that success too and that girl from heroes too. Yes the movie seems to have made a lot of money, its good for her. I saw the movie and i was not impressed but it was not the worst movie either…

Soundscan sells(SS)

Actual ablums sold = (SS/2 due to doulble disk) – (SS/4 albums purchased by her camp to save face)

Which means she actually sold about 25% of whatever Soundscans are reporting.

This is what is meant when they say the “marketing machine” behind Beyonce. They’re not talking about those God awful gun holsters up under her dress…

She markets herself as a successful artist….

But Forbes put her on blast because she was NOT MENTIONED AT ALL on the list of the top African-Americans…Not mentioned At All!!!!!

before i met beyonce i never took any notice of the media and the gossip i did not care

i was a fan of the arts in any form so for me the music spoke for itself i did not need to know anything else

i was well educated on the ethics behind making good music

if the album is really really hot it is because you have a lot of people behind you backing you and do not wish you to fail

so as soon as their music starts to suck it is a good indication that the person got rich and switched and a lot of the backing went away to other artist so not to waste time and effort on an imbecile

so as long as the music is good i supported it i let music speak for itself

until i got burnt

now i realize there is more to it than just music maybe if i supported their image and learnt about it as long as it represents a good cause the music would never suck in the first place and maybe artist could have the gravy to stick around longer

i maybe putting cracks in the veneer you so much worshipped about beyonce but one day you will see that you are actully the cause of the problem by supporting idiots and not intelligence

And its actually according to RIAA that an artisT is labeled gold/platinium etc… It still good but i really though beyonce had a wider fan base! 2 millions in the states is weak for someone of her caliber! 2 Million in FOURTEEN WEEKS is excellent! Especially, when you think of the biggest selling album of 2008 was Alicia Keys and her album only sold 3.6 million. And those are low numbers for Alicia. its fun, i must confess, i like to mess with beyonce fans because those are often the ones who cannot give props to any other artist! the only thing you guys can talk when it comes to beyonce is her achievement, its nice! but do you really like her music! does she move you, does she make you feel good! when i talk about alicia or erykah who happen to be my 2 favourite (mainstream) artists, its not about their money! i have to do the research for alicia cause i never thought about it! im sure erykah would never sell 10 millions of albums but she still can sing better than beyonce for example! I dont undertand how fans are talking aout someone else achievement! You are just a consumer, nothing more so tell me what you like about her not what we should respect about her!

Sometimes you say the most random stuff, and in this example–your quote about Indian people. I scrolled up to see what Why said that made you post that and found nothing so it’s possible I missed it. Perhaps you can quote the person you’re responding to?

The reason I’m interested in that particular comment is because I have A LOT of Indian friends and while they do have some divisive theories and practices (especially regarding religion), I can’t say I’ve seen the sort of racism you’re talking about among them.

At one time, such ideology did exist, with the Caste System and what not but a lot of modern day Indians–from my experience mind you, don’t behave that way.

Thats the problem you Beyonce stans only pit her against other black artist. Lets try looking at the full music scope…..Britney Spears has sold near 4 million and she released Circus a month after Beyonce. Beyonce is no Icon, she has only sold a total of 21 million records worldwide compared to Alicia Keys 30 million, Jennifer Lopez 28 million, and Brintey Spears 83 million.
Thats nice that Beyonce sold 4 million but how many copies did Music World purchase being that Matthew stated she would sell a million in her first week and she didnt.

Beyonce only grossed 50 million for her Bday tour, this is not iconic because Madonna and Van Halen did 200 million in 08 and they sold less albums then Beyonce in 07 and 08. I rather sell less albums and gross 200 million for my tour…….Icons gross 200 million or more.

Why is her fanbase declining? Beyonce is not growing with her target audience . Beyonce should be selling more than she is the way her fans hypes her up to be an Icon. Britney Spears went 14x platinum with Hit Me Baby One More Time, and you guys want to brag about 3x platinum. Beyonce is successful, but I think people act like she’s the end all and be all of pop artist!Realize, she HAS to work hard. For some reason, her albums don’t seel like Alicia, Brittany and her peers and they don’t have the “Machine” behind them, strong arming artist and producers.

What i know is that most people are going to listen to her lyrics after she is gone or she stop singing and that her songs will have more impact that anything she is doing! that is the power of music… john legend marry his daughter in law but today because of his songs, people are still going to his grave to leave flowers. michael jeackson is probably a degenerate man who has raped little boys but his music is still timeless and will never die! its about the music you put out there not your life! but at the end of the day, because beyonce has a boring life and probably never exeprienced anything in her life, her songs happen to lack substance as a result. Also, While Beyonce was site as 1 of the top EARNING females in 2007.
I think that’s what a lot of people are referring to.
She earned most of the money thru her deals with American Express, L’Oreal and Samsung in 2007.
I haven’t heard of her signing new deals in 2008 and 2009. So this may be why she’s not appearing in the 2008 and 2009 list. Those include Madonna (who is far beyond everyone else), Barbra Streisand, Celin Dion and Miley Cyrus.

I *****umed and correctly mind you, that you were speaking of East Indians from Asia. AGAIN, my statement stands–outside of divisive religious beliefs (some are Hindi, some Buddhist, some Muslim), I don’t see much of the prejudices you speak of. I’ve made many Indian (and Middle Eastern in general) friends, as I easily p***** and am quite often mistaken for anything from Egyptian to Iranian to Indian. They do tend to be clannish, yes, but that’s about it.

About Hispanics, I am Hispanic by the way of Puerto Rico so I don’t need you telling me about them. There are Hispanics who, like most other nationalities affected by slavery, try to identify with being “white” and praise the lighter skin and finer hair, but your old school Hispanics frown upon this method of thinking greatly. If you were to visit Puerto Rico, you’d see that they actually refer to American-ized, clueless mentality having Puerto Ricans as “New Yoricans” (since the majority of Puerto Ricans from the island settled in New York), and look down at them.

Chritie Secrets you don’t understand!LOL In order for an album to be considered a double album it has to be over 110 or 120 minutes something like that. Beyonce has a double disc by choice. That’s the way she wanted it packaged, but she does not have a double album. Just google what constitutes a double album and you will have your answers.

It’s the biggest scam in record-industry self-tallying, and the main reason it’s infuriating is the very example cited above: journalists and music fans the world over use the RIAA’s certs as their yardstick for all-time album sales. It’s basically a total distortion of rock history.

When you buy one copy of a double album, you give that album two sales toward its RIAA total. Buy a five-disc box set, and your sale is multiplied by five. So while, say, Houses of the Holy had to sell one million copies in 1973 to go platinum, the four-disc Led Zeppelin box set had to sell just 250,000 in 1990 to get the same certification.

Never mind the most basic illogic of this system: the length of a disc has changed in the conversion from vinyl to CD, for one thing; and you can’t buy just one disc of a set, so why should each disc be counted as if it’s an individual sale? Even the industry’s seemingly more reasonable rationale—that a more expensive set deserves a higher certification—doesn’t hold up, because the multiple-counting happens regardless of what you actually paid. For example, OutKast’s 2003 smash Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, priced by BMG and most retailers as a single-disc item, gets double-counted by the RIAA even though many people paid under $12 for both discs.

Garth Brooks famously milked the double-counting system a decade ago by putting out numerous low-priced multidisc releases—a $10 live set, boxes of his old albums remastered—in his (failed) quest to pad his career total and take first place on the all-time list of most-certified acts from the Beatles. (Who, to be fair, have also benefited mightily from double-counting—we’ll get to the White Album in a minute.)

In my writings over the years, when I’m covering something about an all-time best-selling album, I use my own revisionist version of the RIAA’s Top Sellers List to rank albums. (No editor has corrected me yet.) But I shouldn’t be alone on this. Let’s share the revisionism, shall we?

I personally don’t know Beyonce, but I really don’t think she’s the ***** that so many try to make her out to be. Everyone who works with her speaks highly of her so this must count for something. I think that she would do collaborations with other artists if presented the opportunity. But as far as doing a duet with Rihanna…uuuuh, no. I don’t think that’s a good mood. I just think they are on two different levels(in a good way). I just don’t think they would work well artistically. Plus if I was Rihanna, I probably wouldn’t want to work with Bey. With all due respect to RiRi, I wouldn’t want anyone to overshadow me. Let’s face Rihanna isn’t on Beyonce’s level. She still has some catching up to do, both vocally and c*****ographically. You’re absolutely right. In the world of pop, it’s all about stage presence. If you can bring it, then you’ve got it. I like Rihanna. I have her CD and all, but I just don’t think she puts her heart and soul into her performances like some of the other artists. Having a hit song isn’t enough. If you go on tour, you have to impress your audience. You have to work that stage.

She is EXACTLY what I would think a pop artist should be.
AND she’s not afraid to try something new and get away from the formula.

Beyonce and Destiny’s Child came along with the the Blonde Disney Channel/Mickey Mouse Club girls came out. And she was the ‘ethnic’ version.
Rhianna came out and they were trying to do the same, blonde hair, pop singer ‘ethnic version’ that Beyonce followed.

Issue is now is everyone has experimented with new looks and sounds.

The whole premise of my post was to debate you saying “Indian people are the most racist people you’ve ever met.” Again, the majority of Indians I know do not think that way. Just like with African Americans and Hispanics, yes you will find some with the same old Slave mentality that was inflicted upon them by Western Europeans, but that doesn’t mean that it holds true for each and every single one.

You’d be a lot better off if you just kept your generalizations to yourself.

And to follow up, I’m not being petty and picking out a typo here and there. Typos are one thing. Your lack of proper grammar, horrible sentence structure and other things make your posts incomprehensible. That crap you type? It’s not understandable without a couple of re-reads.
