Stories like this make me angry. Negative always finds its way to positive and turns the light off, while everyone just sits back and passes out RIP. We shouldn’t rest in peace when we keep glamourizing people like the ones who killed this child. The more thugs we let walk around sagging jeans, collecting guns in the trailer parks, rich kids we let get away with smaller crimes due to their money, baby mommas who don’t choose men who are working, viable citizens…. the more stories like this one and the murdering of our babies.

We are not paying attention to mental illness in the community and lack of coping skills. We will be seeing more and more stories about men killing their families and then themselves. We will see more women killing their children and then going to the club to celebrate…

I read about how this intelligent young man decided early on that he wanted to be an engineer so he studied hard for it and put his party days behind him to concentrate on school. Now look. I wish to god that he had left the ghetto the moment he graduated and not looked back. That he had run as far away from the ghetto-ites thugs he grew up with and hung with the white dudes. If he had he would still be alive today. My husband and I are saving up like mad to get away from these low-expectations, ghetto fools, to move away to give our boys a better chance. Where intelligent Black people congratulate and are happy when other Black people do well. I read in the NY Post that a thug killed him over a girl!!!!! Dammit! Real Black men please stay out of these ghetto clubs where the riff raff hang out. What, I just went to my cousin David’s graduatuion dinner from college on Saturday..and his little brother is graduatiing from high school on Tuesday…how sad.

I hate to say this but, I have become to accustomed to hearing senseless acts of violence such as this. It is very unfortunate that a young and educated black male lost his life for absolutely nothing. I’m not saying I don’t care but, this is normal in this day and time. How many people have to die in order for the idolization of the thug culture to subside?

MEMPHIS, TN — Police have two people in custody for the stabbing death of a woman that happened at a Dollar Tree in East Memphis.

Thirty-Seven year-old Tracy Campbell has been charged with first degree murder in the stabbing death of 29 year-old Lakeisha Dantzler. Ryan Griggs, 20, has also been charged in connection with the death. He has been charged with accessory after the fact.

The stabbing happened Saturday, May 9, 2009 in front of the Dollar Tree store, which is located at 3430 Plaza Drive in the Poplar Plaza shopping center.

Police say Dantzler and Campbell were arguing in front of the store because they were both Ryan Griggs girlfriends and they were fighting over him. According to investigators, the fight became so intense that Campbell grabbed a knife out of her car and stabbed Dantzler multiple times. Police say Griggs is also an employee at the store.

According to investigators, Campbell had her little boy with her at the time of the stabbing. Detectives say she turned herself into police and admitted that she had stabbed and killed Dantzler.

Campbell is being held at the Jail East Women’s Facility. Griggs is in custody at the Shelby County Jail.

Campbell is scheduled to make her first court appearance Wednesday, May 13, 2009. Griggs isn’t scheduled to be in court until June.

This breaks my heart, what a shame. I have two sons and I can’t even imagine what they are going through. People, we have got to do better. The sad thing is that people are so damn jealous, this might not have been an accident. This young, intelligent brother could have done a world of good,and now look, he is dead over some bullsh**. James Hawkins, 31, is charged in the slaying and dismemberment of Charlene Gaither, on Feb. 9 in their apartment. Her body was found five days later just south of Memphis in north Mississippi.

The couple’s 12 year-old daughter told authorities she witnessed her mother’s murder and was forced to help dismember her body and dispose of the parts. She said her father threatened to kill her if she did not cooperate.

Shelby County District Attorney Bill Gibbons announced the indictment Friday.

Gibbons also said his office filed notice to seek the death penalty because Hawkins has prior violent felony convictions and because of the grisly nature of the crime.

Well lets hope people that know who did the shooting believe in snitching…..or is it still popular to not snitch?

Reading this brought tears to my eyes for some reason. Struck a nerve with me. My brother just graduated this weekend and I would lay down and die if something like that happenend. What’s up with all the praying….. people need to act not pray. I say this all of the time. If your in college you don’t have a need for a gun. If you carry a gun and your in college, you are creating your own problems because it comes with a thug mentality. Christians are not responsible for the lost souls. A lot of people in their time of troubles turn to god for answers. One can only seek absolution from god. I am a friend of his and I also grew up with him since we was 12-13. He was a very smart dude and he was a great son. I still cannot believe this happened. He was just a smart kid from the Bronx, made his way out of the projects and made something out of himself. I am hurt and devastated. It was a pleasure to know a great person like him. He is one in a million. He will always be in my heart.

I am seeing and hearing people say that “Buffalo needs to get it together” or “the Buffalo Thugs”….and honestly it’s pissing me off. I was debating on whether or not I was going to name names, but I am going to try to take the high road and not do that. It’s something people must understand. There is going to be violence wherever you go. Wherever there is poverty, there is violence because the two go hand-in-hand together.
