According to a recent report, Obama is making it rain on Hillary Clinton in South Caorlina. Here is the WSJ discussing some alleged class divisions within the Black community on Barack Obama:

A poll this fall by the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, a black think tank, shows the wide disparity of support for Mr. Obama among blacks. While 75% of blacks who went to college had a favorable or very favorable view of the candidate — rising to 88% among blacks who went to graduate or professional school — support dipped to 62% among those with just a high-school degree and to 42% among blacks who haven’t finished high school. A similar pattern shows up as income levels fall among blacks. And while 83% of blacks employed full time had a favorable view of Mr. Obama, just 55% of unemployed blacks did.

  • JB

    Basically dumb, slave-minded, self-hating black people like the Clintons. And progressive intelligent blacks are down with Obama. Period.

  • http://www.impawards.com/1991/posters/five_heartbeats.jpg Dap Dunlap, MBA

    Problem is that some Black folks still associate getting an education and being articulate with being white. Unfortunately some dumb fools who are completely ignirant of our history equate “Blackness” with poverty, street education and crime.

    “Wake Up!”

    Basically dumb, slave-minded, self-hating black people like the Clintons. And progressive intelligent blacks are down with Obama. Period.

    ===========================================

    RME. I don’t owe the Clintons anything. Frankly, I like Edwards better than both Clinton and Obama. I like what I hear about Bloomberg and I hope he runs.

    After Obama’s comments about Reagan, I am surprised some of y’all haven’t loosened your grip. Yeah, Reagan created energy and excitement, but his presidency was not a benefit to people of color or white folks for that matter. Trickle down economics works in textbooks, not real life as his administration proved. So we should get excited about people who inspire us to change but do not have the goods to back it up? If we are going to elect folks based on their speeches, then I think Joel Olsteen would be a much better candidate.

    I don’t get it so I must be one of those dumb, slave-minded negroes. The nuiance is too subtle for me to get I guess.

    I haven’t ruled out Obama, but I have given him more chances than I would give any other candidate because he is black and I like his wife.

  • MuSiCreVuGiRL

    I think if anything, this just shows that when someone finally makes SOMETHING of themselves, the people at the bottom are extremely resentful (and one could even argue just plain jealous).

    I believe this happens in any group (racial or otherwise).. hence the term “HATER”. ;-P

  • MuSiCreVuGiRL

    I like his wife too, and the little girls!! adorable!

  • DM

    Love Obama and family.

    Golden Child– are you working on your GED? I hope so because you are one stupid person.

  • http://www.myspace.com/antbo0gz bo0gzz

    of course the EDUCATEDD kno how to vote in the south. no more plantations owners keeping them away from polls.

  • :)

    people really need to do their research about Mr. Clinton (since he is the only reason they like his wife). He strongly opposed affirmative action, and he really did nothing for the black community. Barack is all about civil right, and has been makin major moves to not only help out blacks, but all minorities..

    This clinton ish, has gone WAY outta hand.. They dont give a DAMM about blacks! I mean Bill was snoozin durin the MLK day speech..!!!

  • finewine

    Will the crabs in a barrell syndrome ever end?! I’m glad that some people are thinking for themselves, regardless of who they want to vote for, and not just rolling with the Clintons because Bill was the “first black Pres.”

  • JB

    Preach, finewine. Especially since Bill Clinton wasn’t the first black President. And his true colors are showing now too. He’s baldface lying on Obama all over the country. White leaders like Bill are cool with blacks as long as it’s understood that HE’S in charge.

  • finewine

    Exactly JB! Whenever i ask someone who speaks so highly of Bill, I always ask them what it is exactly that he’s done. Of course I usually get blank stares; some people mention the economy, which I agree with, but that was ALL he did. If he had left things in a better state (especially internationally) then I don’t think we’d be in the situation we are in. Don’t get me wrong, GW is a screw up, but Bill had his shortcomings as well. As of late, I can’t stand Hillary or Bill. Obama/Edwards ’08 for me, or a republican.

  • JB

    Yup yup. It’s Obama or McCain for me!

  • lampshadehead

    so black folks with money like obama more? hmmmm….

    who else gets the rich votes?

    conservative republicans!

    the education and income has some correlation anyway since the more education you have the more money you earn.

  • Lou_Brock

    Clinton supporters always talk about her experience. Let me ask you this… What experience?

    I wouldn’t hire Tony Dungy’s wife to coach the Indianapolis Colts. I wouldn’t hire Phil Jackson’s woman to coach the Lakers.

    So please explain to me: What experience does she have that is so impressive? Name one battle that she has fought and won in the last 20 years?

    Oh I see… you wanna give her partial credit for Bill’s administration! Okay, then name one piece of legislation from the Clinton years that benefited the Black Community. Name one!

    Obama ’08: The Fierce Urgency Of Now!

  • yea

    “Nothing that went down during Clinton’s administration was positive for black people or for the country in general”

    Black unemployment decreasing isn’t positive. Unemployment for Black Americans and Hispanics fell to the lowest rates on record, and the rate for women was the lowest in more than 40 years.

    The country having a surplus instead of the trillion dollar debt thanks to bush. Haiti becoming a democracy. Pardons for blacks that shouldn’t have been in jail.Countless black appointments in fact he appointed more minorities to key positions than any other president in history. His work in South Africa. Clinton’s administration gave $250 million to historically Black colleges and more than $387 million in loans to Black business people.

    Those aren’t positive things? If you say so

  • Absolutely correct again.

    …..yesterday I asked this housekeeper at this hospital what the Clintons had done for her after she was applauding them for all they had done for us when in office…..a blank stare…..real dumb and no response.

  • Lou_Brock

    In 1986 and 1988, two federal sentencing laws were enacted that made the punishment for distributing crack cocaine 100 times greater than the punishment for powder cocaine. The result of these laws is that persons convicted of federal crack offenses, who tend to be African American, receive much harsher penalties than those convicted of powder cocaine charges, a much larger portion of whom are white. For example, someone convicted in federal court of distributing 5 grams of crack cocaine automatically receives a 5-year, mandatory minimum sentence, while it takes 500 grams of powder cocaine to trigger a 5-year mandatory sentence.

    Despite the fact that about 2/3 of crack cocaine users are white or Hispanic, 84.5% of defendants convicted of crack possession in federal court in 1994 were African American, 10.3% white, and 5.2% Hispanic according to data from the United States Sentencing Commission. Trafficking offenders were 4.1% white, 88.3% black, and 7.1% Hispanic.19

    By contrast, powder cocaine offenders were more racially mixed. Defendants convicted of simple possession of cocaine powder were 58% white, 26.7% black, and 15% Hispanic. The powder trafficking offenders were 32% white, 27.4% black, and 39.3% Hispanic.

    As a part of the 1994 crime bill that President Clinton signed, the U.S. Sentencing Commission–a body designed to develop and oversee federal sentencing guidelines–was directed to study the effects of these laws. In 1995, they recommended equalizing the quantity of crack and powder cocaine that would trigger a mandatory sentence. Congress rejected that recommendation, which marked the first time it had done so since the establishment of the commission. President Clinton followed Congress and signed the rejection into law.

    First Black President My Ass!

    @ JB

    Your earlier post-

    “White leaders like Bill are cool with blacks as long as it’s understood that HE’S in charge.”

    sums up Billary in a nutshell. Thank you.

  • finewine

    yea,

    A few positive things can be said about almost any admiinistration, except for James K. Polk.lol G.W., who most of “us” hate, has appointed more AA to the highest offices ever— C. Rice, C. Powell. Kudos to him huh? our economy has been headed for a recession in the past 2 years or so, but prior to that (i.e. during G.W.’s turn) it was the highest number of AA with small businesses. Unless I am mistaken, unemployment was at a low as well. the problem with that low, however, is that the minimum wage is still too low, which shows that just because people have jobs, doesn’t mean that have good jobs. Also, G.W. has given billions of dollar to Africa, because Colin Powell (the negro who most blacks call a sellout) made him do so in exchange for his agreeing to the Iraq war. So, your argument can be used for any president. However, that still doesn’t change what Obama has done, and will continue to do in his political career. For one, he plans on changing the Fed law that makes it mandatory to give more time for crack than powder cocaine, he has been a Civil Rights attorney, he has taken on the lobbyists, and is against the partisanship that has consumed our goverment.

    I agree with whomever pointed out the fact that Obama and Clinton are pro-residency of current illegal immigrants. I think that’s true for most of the Dem party; that party is pretty much founded on “the little person.” To be honest, I don’t see how their plans for universal healthcare (which is something I totally disagree with) will come to fruition. I can’t think of one thing that the Fed goverment hasn’t messed up when it had total control of it. I can’t imagine having them in charge of my health care. I mean, has anyone taken a close look at Canada’s health care system. It seems okay from afar, because primary care there is very good, but any specialities, surgeries, etc. that you need require you be put on a waiting list that takes years. My friend had to pay for her own surgery out of pocket rather than wait. You know that will become a big problem for Blacks because a lot of us can’t just pull out thousands of dollars to pay for a surgery, in order that it is done more expediently.

    i’ll stop now b/c i’m tired of writing.lol

  • Lou_Brock

    @ Yea:

    You’re talking about conditions. I’m asking you, what Clinton policies lead to those conditions?

    Because, if you ask me… The tech bubble of the 90s led to those increases in tax receipts.

  • Encyclopedia Brown

    I support Barack Obama 100%

  • Goldenchild

    Thank you Kenya, if people only knew the truth. He was being double team last night at the democratic debate. He couldn’t even give straight answers, so what makes people think he can be a leader. The founder and president of BET, Jay-Z and Beyonce, Magic Johnson, and plenty more aren’t even goin to vote for him.

  • NO.I.RULE

    I think it’s too early on the campaign trail to call it. What I will say, however, is that I am glad this type of dialogue even exists. When is the last time that the topic of suffrage and disenfranchisement of the black male in the U.S. was discussed on a national/global scale in a completely balanced and blatantly honest perspective? It is time for black youth to stand for something or fall for nothing. The Obama campaign may be a once in a lifetime chance for blacks to mobilize within our nation’s streets in order to normalize and stabilize black success rates in this country and across global markets, all this while simultaneously supporting a black man for president ’08. Let’s not play the paper-bag test this go round. Never before, and perhaps never again, will blacks be afforded the “right” to assemble and express ourselves openly in masse, as our Constitutions supposedly protects and guarantees, as we will with this Obama campaign. Let’s not forget that justice is blind, and perhaps Obama is the type of “bleach” we need in order to support and institutionalize liberty, freedom and justice for blacks on a stained American fabric….I’m just saying, perhaps, in an ideal world.

    Two words… VOTE BLACK!!!!!

    Don’t believe the hype…Obama is a black man!

    I believe that Obama can carry on and continue the legacy of greats like Garvey (West Indian immigrant) and Booker T. Washington(Tuskegee machine).

    Obama needs to talk candidly about illegal immigration. Illegal aliens lessen our chances of not only survival, but of success in a country that was built upon exploited free black labor.

    We must pull ourselves up by the bootstraps. It is becoming too hard for blacks who were born middle class to remain so. Moreso, it becomes increasingly impossible for poor blacks to rise into higher social strata.

    We as black people (poor, middle class and rich) have a responsibilty to improve our communities and to increase the available opportunities for black youth in future generations. Let’s be futuristic people?! Because the time is now. We must catapult our people into better situations and brighter futures. Perhaps, no better way than to support this black man.

    I, too, am afraid for Obama. Although, he may appear to be a “safe” Negro to many whites, I admire his courage and bravery to run on these white, and often wicked, campaign trails.

    Down the yellow brick road he goes, brethren.

  • Kenya

    @NO.I.RULE

    What you want to say here is that let us vote for him because he is black.

    We just have to a little bit serious to improve our surroundings. For example, if you go the “hood” and ask anybody what are the problems that are facing this country and what changes should be done. I bet you, you will hear the same things that Obama is talking about. The issue here is not about vision and hope, is about how you will improve the standard of life among americans. For example, he is talking about how he is going to remove bush’s tax cut to improve the health care. Only stupid will agree with him that the health care problems is because of tax cut. You can disagree with me but I can tell you that the health care problems is because of prescription drugs. Why do need prescriptions to by drugs? Why do I have to pay a lot of money to see a doctor for less than 5 minutes to get prescription? None of the candidates talk about this? Is it because they are receiving a lot of money from drugs companies to fund their precidency bid?

    If Obama was real for changes, he should say NO for drugs money and have prescription drugs on his agenda. As matter of fact, pharmaceutical industry are getting a big tax to reduce their operation cost and hire more people. If you remove tax cut and still you have prescriptions non-sense, the cost of health care will go up. What an idiotic vision our leaders have! If Canada is able to make health care free to everybody, why not us? They just want to pay back the people who are funding their bids.

    OBAMA OVER CLINTON ANY DAY!!!! PLAIN SIMPLE TRUTH!!

  • Harlem Chic

    Wow! There is some serious politickin going on in this post. I know politics brings out peoples passionate viewpoints but wake up people…politics is just another smoke screen to divide American’s even further.

    At the end of the day no one is responsible for taking care of you cept yourself. Only you can educate, clothed, and house yourself. Only you can climb that economic ladder using your God given talents.

    Real Talk.

    Obama, Edwards, Clinton, nor Guiliani do not have a personal investment in seeing you grow into the best possible you. So arguing over polictricks is just a waste of time. Choose your candidate and move on!

  • Lady Architect

    I was watching the news this morning and they were really trying to make it seem like the only way Obama can win is with black votes only….They refuse to admit that white people are voting for him also…I’m glad he made that clear this morning that the majority people that made him win in Iowa were white…anyways the Clintons are getting scared that’s why Bill is campaigning for Hillary because she’s trying to use his popularity with black people.

  • weezy

    It doesn’t mean self hating blacks are self hating, it probably means they probably less independent thinking.

  • tj

    To whoever said:

    “Basically dumb, slave-minded, self-hating black people like the Clintons. And progressive intelligent blacks are down with Obama. Period.”

    I would add that the undereducated are also under-informed. They are less likely to have the facts about the clinton regime and more likely to operate on sound bites like “first black president” or think he’s cool because he cheated on his wife smokes weed and committed perjury.

  • Lost Skeleton

    proves what I always knew for years, poor Black folks are haters. They are mad at you for being educated but they don’t realize that just because you have a degree and a job does not mean you can “hook a brother up” with a job. They think you can and they hate you for it. I even see it with blue collar brothers and sisters who are making it rain with their jobs but they get sh#t in thier hoods because they work.

    Poor black folks call us sell outs but they are the biggest slave minded cats going. Crabs in a barrel.

    A message to all the kids out there…do your homework and get some good grades ‘cuz a college degree is like a high school diploma now a days.

  • Lost Skeleton

    Obama or Clinton = who you should support in November. nuff said. I am hating on Clinton right now and I am strongly backing my boy but if she lucks up and get it…I will be for damn if I vote for the GOP or waste my vote on Bloomberg…He will steal votes but he would not win a single state. Plus, he is more likley to take votes away from the Dems.

  • Lost Skeleton

    Arguing over politics is fun! and the only important thing we do as a community. Sorry Harlem Chic…but as we learned from Bush, elections are important.

  • Kenya

    @NO.I.RULE

    @Nita

    Now you are talking! You have addressed the issue of school system now tell me how Obama’s solutions will help to solve the problem? Maybe you believe on politics of hope.

    By the way, american school system is way better than most of the countries in the world. That’s why people come in this country and go to the same schools as you guys and at the end of the day they work for coorporate america and you guys still in the “hood”.

    @All black

    If you real think Obama will solve your problems, labelling him as black is very dangerous. Blacks only make 12% of the population of this country. How can he wins as black person?

    @Harlem Chic

    Unfortunately, politics decide how you will be educated, clothed, and housed yourself. This thing is not like “American Idol” that does not has any impact on your daily life. I know most of people do not believe that the economy of this country will fall and people will start walking with titis out like some other part of the world. Don’t see how one 9/11 affects the economy of this country. Try to imagine you have two more 9/11. Can you tell me what is going to happen when NYC faces black out for a week?

  • lampshadehead

    @Lou_Brock

    excuse me, but are you trying to insinuate that allowing crack dealers back into the communitys that they are wreaking havoc in sooner would have made Clinton more credible? Crack dealers stand on street corners and kill over $20 dollars, they bring addicts into the streets of the community these addicts then significantly degrade the quality of life for normal people trying to survive. There are numerous other major problems that plague our communities due to crack. The problems of powder cocaine are significantly different from crack, which is what invoked such tough penalties. I dont think that getting tough on drug dealers that kill our brothers and ruin our neighborhoods is a great example of how Clinton didnt do anything for black people.

    @homegirl

    thats right, illegal immigrants cant wait to come in and take all the jobs that affirmative action will allow them to have. They will accept less pay, and the company still has minorities on the payroll. And look at what happened in Newark, New Jersey last year! Promising young Black Americans were executed behind a school by four illegal hispanics that had so much hatred for anybody that has what they want. did Obama have anything to say about this topic. Where was the outrage?

  • Kenya

    @Lost Skeleton

    @megs

    Do you want to tell me that the bad things about clinton make Obama the best candidate or leader.

  • Raven2007

    People, don’t you remember what happened in New Hampshire when Obama was the projected winner and Hillary won? These polls don’t mean a thing anymore.

    And, let’s remember, who exactly are they basing these stats on? Poor Blacks or uneducated Blacks generally don’t vote as much as their white or educated counterparts and haven’t gone to the voting booths in as high a number to represent their full complexity. The stats that this is based on could be based on only a handful of people. Don’t believe everything you read.

    And the link to the WSJ article doesn’t work. :(

  • Lady Architect

    Kenya I agree with you on some parts but I definitely disagree with America having the best school system…yes it may have a better school system compared to like mexico…or really poor countries, but check out Russia, parts of Africa that are not in poverty,Japan, China, Australia…I can go on and on. What American students learn in highschool…these countries teach their students in like elementary to middle school…Don’t be fooled by the some sweatshops and the poverty here and there…many countries are nothing like that…which is why America is now borrowing money from those countries…I won’t talk about 9/11 because I still think that it was a conspiracy and a definite setup by our own government…but that’s just my opinion…nothing else.

  • Kenya

    @lampshadehead

    On immigrantion issue, Obama’s solution is totally the same as Bush’s plans. When Bush tried to push it. It did not pass just because most of americans do not like that. Sometimes I ask myself why people hate Bush so much but love to death Obama. The only big issue that Obama was against Bush was the war to Iraq but he vote for money for the war for me it is just stupid. How can you tell your son that you do not want him to wear G-Unit gears and then you give him the money to buy and at the same time you tell him you will take the gears? Is it not stupid?

    Obama is very smart person, in most of the issue he voted “present”.

  • Stacey

    I hope everyone is getting out to vote. All this talking is great, but unless you get out and vote then this is just talk.

  • lovely and amazing

    Many great African-Americans throughout US history have had one white (or) non-black parent. We crticize biracial black people as “not really black” but white people who know a few slang terms or a few bars of a slave hymn are “really black”?

    Damn, have Billary done a number on us as a people. It really is time to for us to unlearn Billaryonics.

    OBAMA 2008!

    QUALIFIED. PREPARED. CAPABLE. READY.

    @ Goldenchild

    Thanks for the negative reply. Your tantrum proves my point. You are a plant and a bad one. I would think keeping your composure would be the first thing they taught you at Billary Spy School. Your anti-Obama stance is predictible, lazy, silly, and a quite frankly, a fairy tale.

    OBAMA 2008!

  • Lady Architect

    Lovely and Amazing…I couldn’t have said it better…It’s crazy how people talk about Obama being mixed and not being black enough…but Bill shows up a couple of times at the Apollo and stuff and He’s our black president? I like Bill don’t get me wrong, but him and his wife have been really ticking me off with their slick tactics…showing obama fottage but they only show a snippet to make him look bad…or if I recall I thought Hillary was running against Obama so why she got Bill down in SC campaigning and making speeches for her while she heads out to the West coast…if she was truly confident about herself and her campaign there would be no need for this slick stuff.

  • Kenya

    @Lady Architect

    This is the education system rank.

    1. South Korea

    2. Japan

    3. United States

    American education system is different from most of the countries. The college level in United States is similar to hish school in most of the countries but if you look at age wise is kind of the same.

    But that is too general, I will agree with you that kids should be able to get the same education within United State.

  • Kenya

    Guys,

    So far I know two reasons why I should vote for Obama.

    1. He is black

    2. There is no good thing about Hilary and Bill.

    Are those strong points for me?

    What’s is wrong about Edwards?

    He real talks about real changes.

    He will unite the Dems.

  • Raven2007

    @Kenya

    Where did you get that list from? Because when I meet people from Haiti, who is the poorest Third-World Country in the Western Hemisphere, they have a better basic education than the regular American going to a public school.

    How do they even judge the schools? Is it on average? Because the poorest schools in this nation have downright the worst education of a First-World country.

    Even Oprah has done numerous episodes on this “epidemic” (if you will) and it’s not like she’s some groundbreaking journalist discovering an underground dilemma. American education sucks big time.

    Please tell it like it is. It is that whole just because I am a house slave as opposed to a field slave I am better than you syndrome. Don’t you get it. No one in power cares about blacks and espeically not the impoverished blacks.And if you think Clinton cares a rats behind about anyone one of us you are sorely mistaken. I am from NY and Mr. Hilary hasn’t done anything for us here, why would she do anything for us in the rest of the country.

  • lampshadehead

    @Kenya

    yes, that is my point. but i dont really see where you are going with the G-unit thing.

  • Lost Skeleton

    Look, John Edwards aint’ uniting sh#t ‘cuz he is not going to win. 4% in Nevada, come on. The party has already jumped that ship. I supported Edwards in 2004 but the party nominated Kerry. I was pleased that Kerry picked him as his running mate. But Edwards ship has past. Why am I running with O, the numbers and the level of pure hostility out there against Hillary. I like Hilldog and I will vote for her in the general election but lets get real. O runs better, and in some polls beats, McCain. Both Hill and O beat the other GOP nominees but O does slightly better. The GOP is getting smart and is preparing to hold their nose and vote for McCain. Hill’s negatives are really high (I believe 40%) and she motivates the GOP base like no body’s business.

    Despite the debate, O and Hillary agree on all of the issues but I believe that the GOP will be so motivated to stop Hillary that they could shoot down anything she tries to get pass. Massive gridlock in DC if she gets in. O has the ability to come in with a mandate if he can bring over independents and moderate GOPs. The country is hungry for post-partisan politics right now but unfortunatly for O, the Dems seemed to be more interested in the 1990′s. The recession we are facing is much different and the mood of the country is sour. I do not think you can discount a change in the tone of politics post Clinton-Bush.

  • lampshadehead

    listen people, we got to get tough. Hillary aint gonna do it and neither is Obama. They have too many interests to satisfy from the ultra-left. And the ultra left is not concerned with the middle income, working class. These are ultra liberals that already

    have money, and are looking to be saviors to the same people that are destroying communities. What do to they care, they have mansions in the richest parts of town, away from whats going on in the cities they would like to flood with illegal immigrants, freed drug dealers and criminals that liberal judges allowed back into the community for violent crimes. We need a new party, cause the Dems and Republicans just aint doing it right

  • Lost Skeleton

    Plus, independents will decide this election and they like O, are indifferent to Clinton, like McCain and have a deep level of hatred for Edwards. Don’t sleep, I have a couple of friends who consider themselves to be independents and they have said that they will NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS vote for Edwards because they believe he is a phony. I disagree but its true. Clinton rallies the base minus black voters who are with O for the moment, but I don’t think the independents out there will necessarily rally against any Republican. Yeah they hate Bush and the evangelical wing of the Republican party but they really like McCain. i think O will get the base to vote for him no matter what and can grab enough independents to take the thunder away from McCain. Bloomberg knows this that is why he is waiting to jump in if Clinton gets the Dem nomination.

    The Wall Street Journal doesn’t give a damn about black people….of ANY economic class. We need to stop paying the white media any damn attention. They’ll do anything to divide us and create dissention within the race.

  • Tubs

    We’re sad. I PROMISE YOU, all this infighting doesn’t happen in Hillary’s camp. There’s no “is she woman enough?” bickering.

  • Tubs

    “I can’t tell who I’m running against sometimes,” Obama complained during Monday night’s debate in Myrtle Beach, and no wonder. After Hillary Clinton’s collapse in the Iowa caucuses, Bill Clinton shed his presidential dignity and decided to become his wife’s designated hitter. Party elders warn that he has fueled a return of racial and gender politics that could doom the party in November. But there can be little doubt that his histrionics helped put his wife back in contention.

    Along the way, he often sounds as if he’s campaigning for a third term. Here in Aiken, he tried mightily to talk about Hillary, but he kept lapsing into the first person: “My position on that is simple. . . . When I was in law school. . . . When I was president. . . . When I was governor of Arkansas. . . . When I started this schools program. . . . I made the governor of South Carolina secretary of education. . . . I got a Mercury mini-SUV.”

    I we so proned to think that failure is the only option that we can’t even concieve that this man could be a great president. Look at his campaign. None of the establishment took him as a real threat. Then they said he wouldn’t get if off the ground then they spoke for us and said black people would never vote for him. They didn’t even consider that white people would vote for him. Then they said he wouldn’t make it pass Iowa. Yes she beat him in New Hampshire by only 2 points. And, Considering he went into that race twenty points behind her that is not a bad. And yes she won the most votes in Nevada but he won the most delegates. In case you did not know delegates is how you get the nomination.

    How is it that 75% of caucasions say America is ready for a black president and only 61% of blacks. Are we that sad of a race that we can’t see greatness when it is in our presence. He is not getting his assed kicked. He is fighting the most powerful machine in political history and he is right there with them neck and neck.

    And, go and re-read that quote about Regan and you will see that what he said has been totally misconstrued. That is what happen when you begin to fear your opponent.

    If I were in South Carolina and I was thinking about running for Hilary Clinton I would not because she does not even deem those voters important enough to stay there and speak with them and try to earn there votes she leaves to her husband. And I don’t know if you all notice that anytime she has to speak with a large group of black people for the most part she lives that to her husband.

    I know what her husband did as president I want to hear from her. And what I see so far I am not impressed.

  • Sergio

    As I’ve said so many times before to my friends, the only REAL reason why black people liked Bill Clinton is because he could stand around a group of black people and not look afraid or intimidated unlike a lot of white people. That was evidently enough for black people to buld a slave shack behind the Clinton plantation and offer themsleves to work for them for free for life. We’re SO easy

  • lovely and amazing

    You asked the question of the decade How is it that 75% of whites are ready for a black president and only 61% of blacks.

    OBAMA ’08

    people – being first lady for 8 years does NOT constitute experience. a bit of advice – research clinton’s “experience” while you’re researching obama’s credentials.

  • TRUSELF

    Hillary talk about how Obama does nt have enough people or support in washington working under him and she has all the right connects (for white people).

    If you want someone who is going to make change then you have to change the people who we are dealing with and you can only do that by voting Obama. If you put the same big wigs in office they will use the same ole tactics and connects which will lead to the same results.

    Insanity= doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.

    Stop voting white people in. Vote for a real change. A black man can not make it worse than the many white men before him have done since!!!!

SAME WITH THE NBA YOU SEE HOW MANY FOREIGNERS ARE IN THE LEAGUE NOW, I MEAN THAT’S BECAUSE OF THE GLOBAL MONEY THEY’RE MAKING, BUT AT THE SAME TIME IT’S LEAVING MORE AND MORE YOUNG BLACK MEN OUT THE LOOP! LET’S WAKE UP PEOPLE……THEY’LL FIGURE OUT AWAY TO DESTROY ANYTHING WE DOMINATE, DEVELOP AND PROFIT OFF OF EVENTUALLY!

    Having better school system does not means that you will be educated than anybody. There some countries that students do not have books and sit on the floor but suprised enough they gain better knowledge than student with everything in US. Do you remember what Jay-Z said when he came back from Africa? There is no “hood” in US, the real “hood” is in Africa. Let us teach our kids that being Kobe or Jay should be plan B for everyone. That list is according to United Nations.

    it’s sad that to defend obama you all will first try to make the clintons out to be racist now you want to call your own black people dumb.

    another way to look at it is that the people who are truly in dispare understand that when a clinton was in office, they were doing better. just b/c middle class black folk see obama as a way to ‘get in the doo’ ie politics whatever, it doesn’t mean he’s the smartest choice.

    OBAMA 2008!

    Thanks for the negative reply. Your tantrum proves my point. You are a plant and a bad one. I would think keeping your composure would be the first thing they taught you at Billary Spy School. Your anti-Obama stance is predictible, lazy, silly, and a quite frankly, a fairy tale.

    Black Republicans and Democrats both need to get behind Obama 2008! This is a historical opportunity for intra-racial bipartisan unity. Not all Black people are Democrat and yes there are many Black Republicans.

    OBAMA offers something for both Black Democrats and Republicans, all of whom are in dire need of Hope and Unity.

    This is history right before our eyes in our lifetimes and YES HE CAN WIN. The uglier and nastier and more abusive the Clintons get is a sign that YES HE CAN WIN.

    @ Republican Brothers and Sisters

    To vote for Obama in the primaries just temporarily change your status to Unaffiliated. Then after the primaries just change back to Republican and still VOTE OBAMA 2008! Because he is Qualified, Prepared, Capable, & Ready!

    OBAMA 2008!

    There isn’t one ounce of self-hate in me. I never could stand hearing that “bill clinton is our first black president”.

    That nonsense comes from people who have self-doubt and self-loathing. They feel good about themselves when a non-black person identifies themselves with us. Trouble is, Bill Clinton never said HE was OUR or AMERICAS’ “first black president”.

    I wonder what he said about that comment behind closed doors; they must have thought they had us locked in to vote for Hillary. The Clintons know that there are so many of us who still don’t trust ourselves, much less others of our own race.

    America boasts that it has the best education system in the world. Her leaders boast that she is the moral compass of the world. Yet, when non-whites achieve the top honors-playing by their rules, somehow, these non-whites are not intelligent enough. They haven’t learned all that is required.

    Now, all of Obamas’ achievements in College and in his professional life, suddenly, somehow, doesn’t make him ready to lead this nation.

    Keep in mind, our current President was a “C” student; noted drug supplier on campus at Yale and, general good-time party guy, with no real aspirations to help America. He lived off his rich, fathers’ money and influence.

    Barack Obama is just as qualified as any highly educated American to lead this nation. Look beyond the color of his skin. Listen to what his views are. Listen to what he’s saying. Listen to him explain his ideas and explain how he will achieve his plans. Obama gives answers and explains himself. You are left understanding why he has a certain view. Trust YOUR judgement.

    This election is monumentally important. Regardless of who you vote for, don’t allow self-doubt about yourself to influence your decision. Make whatever decision you make soley on the issues.

    We can’t afford another Republican in The White House. We need an intelligent, sensible, thoughtful, compassionate person to lead this country; not one who will further divide us.

    Investigate Obamas’ voting record in the Senate(easily done online). Look and see how he has been able to work with Republicans to pass important legislation for our nation.

    A house divided against itself cannot stand. We need a candidate who is not in this because they are owed the presidency. This is not a monarchy. This is a democracy.

  • anonymous

    It’s such a shame to see how some of us loathe education and the educated.

    Our ancestors fought with their lives in the balance to make sure we valued our intelligence. The slave system was set up to strip us of any level of humanity and self-love.

    Unfortunately, some of the damage done to us has been passed down through some families. They have yet to accept that we are as intelligent as any other people on this earth.

    Too many of us will still trust a white persons’ lies before we trust a black persons’ truth. Some of us do still believe that white is right. That’s the unfortunate modern legacy of slavery; self-hate.

    There are millions of blacks in America who are above average intelligence, have brilliant ideas to advance us and the world, but, receive no support, only belittleing remarks. We destroy them at our own detriment. Whites will never love us as much as we love and care about ourselves.

    To those of us who read The Word(Scriptures). You know that all of mankind is created in the image of God. That means people of African descent too. We have been given the same talents as any race on this planet. We can be just as righteous and unrighteous as any people on this earth.

    With all our struggles, God continually blesses us with intelligent people( Sojourner Truth, Harriett Tubman,Frederick Douglass,Shirley Chisholm, Mlk,Jr., Colin Powell, Andrew Young, Condoleeza Rice, John Johnson, Cornell West, Henry Louis Gates Jr, Oprah Winfrey, Tavis Smiley, Tom Joyner, and the College Professors, Physicians, Attorneys, Judges, Police Officers, Teachers, Office Managers, Bank Managers,CEO’s, COO’s, Board Directors, Accountants, Artists, Sports figures, Music Producers, Music Composers, Song Writes, and so many others who faces I can only recall. If you can name a profession, we, the descendants of slaves have college degrees in it. Every day we go out and work harder than anyone else because we know the hate we are up against. We achieve and excell in spite of the hatred we face daily.

    You see people, we are not forgotten by God. We have worth in Gods’ eyes and his judgement is the only, true judgement. All talents and blessings come from God. We were not created by another human being. God created us.

    We are just as valuable and intelligent and worthy to this world. We bring a level of compassion that others don’t have because, they haven’t had our history of daily, generational struggles.

    Trust me, Obama cares about us. In the S.C. debate he mentioned the disparity in sentencing for white and black offenders. At the Mlk Jr. celebration in Atlanta, he talked about the disparity in education and resources.

    If elected President this man will improve this country for all of its’s citizens. Black and White, Christian, Jew, Muslim and Athiest. He stands for everyone. His is the politics of inclusion. He doesn’t believe in divisive leadership.

  • anonymous

    The best thing about the American School System is that it’s free; until you get to college. Most of the world operates under the British System-pay as you go. If your family doesn’t have the money to pay for “school fees, book, uniforms, school lunches”, you don’t go. I know from personal experience. That’s why people come to this country. So their children can get a good education that won’t send the entire family into poverty.

    There are millions of children worldwide whose parents have sacrificed and given them an education. After that, you have highly educated children yearning to learn more, but, because of family finances and a lack of connections are left working in fast food joints with highly intelligent minds. Out of frustration they usually turn to drugs and illicit behavior. That’s why so many people come here. To give their current and future children a chance to have a productive life.

    America does not have the best educated, it just makes a good education accessible.

    @ tiray,

    make up your mind. I thought the reason why you weren’t going to offer more than your usual empty rhetoric when shilling for Obama was because voting was a personal choice? Now you’re urging people to vote for Obama . . . really.

    some of these comments are just so ignorant. The black vote is not a monolith. Say what you will about Robert Johnson’s (BET) remarks, but he made valid points. Obama isn’t being properly vetted by the liberal media. They’re too focussed on his galant speeches and his supposed symbolism and “perfection” to seriously examine his candidacy. He’s in for a rude awakening if he gets the DNC nomination, because the opposition isn’t going to be so kind and he’s not going to be prepared. Don’t be fooled. the Obama camp’s allegations and cries of race baiting are just as divisive as whatever the Clintons are allegedly doing. There are a myriad of reasons why blacks with advanced degrees would be in Hilary’s camp, everything from a class divide and their feeling like Hilary has their money’s interest at hand, to their seeing possible holes in Obama’s plot. The knee-jerk response to explain the rationale of those particular blacks is to say that they’re self-hating coons, and apparently there are a lot of knee-jerks here.

    Basically,i’ve decided to erge blacks to vote Obama moreso.The mud-slinging that is the Clinton-camp is at an all-time high.

    JUST MAKING SURE THE OLE PLAYING FIELD IS LEVEL.Alot of the baptist minister’s around the country got wind of their tactics and are taking a verbal stand!

    1. Constantly talking about Obama drug past.

    2.Offering positions to blacks and provding empty promises!

    Robert Johnson

Do you hold this as a litmus test for the other candidates or just Obama because he’s half-African? WTF?
