So you’re saying VH-1 just randomly called him and asked him to be on the show? Uh, that sounds a little far-fetched.

I read (I think it might have been on his myspace site or some link associated) that he wrote VH-1 a letter explaining why he’d be perfect for the show ; reasons being that he was a successful black man with no ties and had a different persona that the media normally doesn’t associate with “urban” men, and they contacted him. The rest is history–be it real or “reality tv” real.

You read wrong! His niece (with his sister’s help) wrote the letter to VH1… David had no clue until they called him one day at work. That’s why he dragged his sister (along with his mom) on that meet the family episode of ILNY2 (sorta, you got me into this mess).

@Blind and Black lady. When you lose your entire family, all you want is for someone to understand and to be there for you. Maybe punk is questionable but if he is making her feel better through all the tragedy then who are we to question who she is with. What ever floats her boat.
