The 12th cycle of ANTM ended last night with Teyona Anderson, the ‘edgy’ girl with the tomboyish steez, taking top billing as America’s Next Top Model. Tyra loves her some chocolate models. Flip the switch for more
Teyona Anderson proved the fiercest beauty of all on Cycle 12 of “America’s Next Top Model,” besting her fellow finalist Allison Harvard on the catwalk on Wednesday night’s dramatic season finale!
“I live for modeling,” said a thrilled, trembling Teyona after getting the news. “I’m so proud of myself, it’s ridiculous.”
The striking 20-year-old from New Jersey won the competition by out-strutting blond eyeful Allison, also 20, in a decisive Rosa Cha fashion show. On the catwalk, the models did the Brazilian stomp, a samba and ultimately, writhed around in an “oil slick” on the floor. A series of arresting fashion photos of both finalists also weighed into the judges’ final decision.
Earlier in the evening, Tyra Banks and company eliminated Teyona and Allison’s fellow competitor Aminat Ayinde after deeming her facials too stiff in a lipstick photoshoot.
As the winner of “ANTM,” Teyona will be managed by Elite Model Management, she’ll receive a $100,000 contract with cosmetics giant CoverGirl, and she’ll also appear on the cover and a six-page fashion spread in Seventeen magazine.
The dramatic season finale was notable for another reason, as well: It marked judge Paulina Porizkova’s final appearance on the show. Paulina announced that she was fired from “ANTP” on last night’s “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.”
Let’s hope she fairs better than some of the previous winners. What the hell happened to Naima, Danielle and Saleisha?

Danielle can be spotted in clothes catalogues all over the place. She also pops up in Essence every now and then. Naima has been showing up in more international fashion mags and so have a bunch of these contestants who didn’t even win ANTM. There is fashion beyond the borders of the United States, people.
So don’t hate, educate yourselves.

I think eva got status but not as a model. She got it for being on Young and the Restless, being with Lance, and some other little things along the way. Tocarra got status. I mean she was in Black Vogue and on rip the runway.
Teyona won because they thought she might have a nervous break down had she not won.
Too much publicity for ANTM that why she won.

I think Aminat should’ve won. All I know is that TOCARRA didn’t even win Top Model and she’s blowing e’rybody out the water still, her 15 minutes of fame got extendid by 90 minutes! I think people have been talking about the girls not getting work for quite some time now and that is why (If you watch the show) they give you updates on most of the past winners and some of the runner ups.
These girls are doing big things. You won’t hear about them unless you follow the fashion industry. I think the show is great because it is giving these girls careers and helping them to achieve their goals whether they win or lose.
Teyonna deserved to win but I hope that Allison and Aminant get signed to modeling agencies.
I see past winners everywhere. I also see the ones who didn’t win. Check out Fashion week photos you’l see most of them walking the runway.

That is why they did not choose her. Don’t get me wrong she is a beautiful girl with a banging presence and body but she could not model. She was definately an amateur and it was written all over her face and pictures. Allison was only shy and timid but she got her ***** together and deserved to walk against Teyonna. Aminant was very nasty and felt that she was gonna make it JUST because of her looks. They did carry her til the end but I am glad that the judges sent her home.
She will be fine though.
I mean really…aside from Eva and YaYa, all the other chicks got was a covergirl commercial, basically. This one isn’t even half as talented so…..

Just know that you don’t see or read every magazine out there. There are hundreds of magazines and not to meantion, just cause you win in America, you don’t have to stay here to make that paper! Most of the girls are really doing it big you just don’t take the time out to see it!
Oh and I am on the CW site and THOSE PINK PEOPLE R *****ED!!! Calling Tyra a racist, and oh Allison didn’t have the right skin color, and well we already knew who was gonna win very predictable! Danielle is the face of Metrostyle (catalouge modeling). I see Saiesha in print as well and never see Naima.
Eva is the most seen & popular. Yaya, even though Yaya didn’t win, you see her on movies and commercials. Kim is a vj on MTV & Bri has the Ambi commercials that are currently out as well and Carrie D is a host of some reality show on Oxygen. Hell, Tocarra did a spread in Vouge–any other of the top models can’t say that!

All of the girls from Top Model are working. The writers for bossip are such haters. On each episode they announce what each model’s doing. I actually saw Danielle in a fashion layout a few months ago. Models make their money on the runway.
i have watched all 12 seasons and every winner to me deserved to win everybody that even came in the top five have had exposure in some form or manner stop all the hateration people and be happy for the models or quit watching

For the record:
Tyra Banks did not come up with the idea for ANTM. The idea for the show originally came from a model booker – not Tyra (I knew the model booker, but do not have permission from her to divulge her name so I will not). Tyra then became involved with the show as “the host”, helped to sell it to the network, and also came up with ideas for the show.
Tyra now claims total credit for coming up with the idea for the show – and she did NOT come up with the original idea.
This was also aired on E! True Hollywood Story of ANTM years ago when the show was in the third or fourth cycle.

A lot of the ANTM girls are working. They do a segment every weeks showing you where they are. One of my favorites, Elyse is a big model in Japan. They show Nena last night. She looked FIERCE!

What status does Eva have exactly beside showing that boyish body of hers? Its def for not being a model. Dani got an extended contract with CG, contract with Target and METROSTYLE amongst others so she’s doing great. Now is it me or is there a black winner every 3rd cycle of Top Model.

Everyone keeps saying that Aminat should have won but she was not improving in regards to what they were critiquing her about. Aminat had chance after chance, she was in the bottom 2 week after week but she didn’t improve with her face. Face is #1 when it comes to photos……….so why should she win????? I don’t know if Paulina is racist as some of you are saying. I liked her because she kept it real. She was the happy medium between boring-***** Twiggy Lawson (who in my opinion loved the white models, especially if you’re blonde-haired and blue-eyed) and *****y-***** Janis *****inson.

Teyana was good but I think Tyra gave it to her because she knows that Allison is going to blow up anyways. Say what you want but Allison had a look and took awesome pictures. Every pic they put up was better than Teyana’s except the one Bossip has posted.
Aminat, was stunning to me, just gorgeous really and I was rooting for her all the way, but TRUTH BE TOLD, her pics sucked and her voice was too irritating for her to ever be a spokesmodel! I would have loved to see her do some runway though! Just my opinion. I like Paulina though, wonder who they will hire for next season. How about Cindy crawford.

I won’t miss Paulina. Maybe they should bring back previous girls for guests spots, there are 12 winners, surely can they can bring a few back throughout the season. And it would be cheaper than giving a contract to some dinosaur model who thinks they are better than the contestants.

I’m not happy about tunnel-face winning. I could tell from the beginning she is Tyra’s favorite so the finale was pretty anti-climactic. The picture posted here was Teyona’s best cuz the yellow paint is covering almost half of her face. Aminat had the better body, face, runway walk, etc….if she can’t take a picture by this time with all of the “wonderful” instruction she received then that says more about the stupid show than it does about her. Watch she becomes more successful than Teyona because, as Paulina (who was recently fired) said:
