However, it doesn’t stop with just monitoring their influences. You have to explain and discuss these things with them. You have to be proactive and agressive b/c theye are going to be exposed to things long before you realize. You have to establish yourself as their biggest influence.

Iwas exposed to many things my parents never found out about, and I experienced many things that would break my mothers heart. However, it was their steady influence, and prayers that helped me not get too far caught up before it was too late for me to change.

I also am active in my community, local schools, churches, as well as several websites and blogs on this as well as many other issues. Discussing issues may not seem as aggresive and results driven as boycotting but, in order to effect change, people have to know the who, what, when, where, why, and how’s of an issue.

I know it’s already been said but:

I don’t think women are born to want to do these things to themselves. They are taught/mentally manipulated into thinking that they have to be this way. Her decision to do this probably stems from influences or lack of influences earlier in her life.

The main thing that I can do is educate my children, my neices, and my nephews. In the case of my children, I monitor what they see and hear at home. My brothers and sister are similar to myself ideologically ,a direct result of our upbringing, so I know that they monitor their children as well.

However, it doesn’t stop with just monitoring their influences. You have to explain and discuss these things with them. You have to be proactive and agressive b/c theye are going to be exposed to things long before you realize. You have to establish yourself as their biggest influence.
