i think its a good idea for fans but a bad idea if they want to make money. especially if toni wont be there if she’s not the movie wont take off. thats why it got canceled in the first place.

Absolutely. The way the show ended was horrible. I would love to see Joan, Toni, Lynn, and Mya on the big screen (loved William, too — he was hilarious). The response to the Sex and the City proved — to me — that there is an audience for film versions of “women’s shows.” A Girlfriends movie would have a built-in audience, but I do agree that Toni would have to appear in it in order for it to work.

I will love that because I feel like the show ended wrong. Its sad how Sex in the City women can work it out year after year but the Black version chicks cant. YET, they werent getting paid by HBO! They were getting paid by a company that didnt try to pay the cast any where near what the Sex in the City chicks got. I wish they could have gotten an hour long slot on a cable station because I believe it was the closes TV show we got that showed Black woman that way. It was like “Waiting to Exhale”. I loved it! (Especially Tracee Ellis, whoooa, I miss that a$$!!)

Perhaps a straight-to-DVD, 1-2 hour long episode to tie up the loose ends and end the show properly would work, a full length feature length film… Not so much. Girlfriends was a good show, but it barely had a TV audience, I can’t see it doing big box office numbers.

Don’t know about a movie but it would be great if the show was back on TV. Maya is hysterical with her colloquialisms and William is so funny too. Tony was great as a character on tv, but i’d hate it if i had to put up with someone like her in real life.

Yes, I think a movie should be made for this show! I truly adore that show and think the last episode was all over the place. It just didn’t end with a bang like shows do, and I think there is no show today that can compare. As far as grossing only 500k is that figure valid because a low figure in numbers has to be a result of poor judgement.

For the sack of people like me who just fell in love with the story lines, Plots and Characters I know the episodes by heart and could tell you any thing about each role! However I was disappointed when the character Toni Childs left but at the same time I would be more pleased as the #1 Fan to see the Movie with all of them Tod and the new baby. There is more then enough open doors and hurt feelings that can be mended, I would love to see Williams baby and Jabarii as a Teenager Joan Married with her and Toni back friends. After a Major movie with a amazing story line and plot could bring back the TV series.

On that note if they do we need to all do our part and support them no matter what!

Good note Every time I go to buy the dvd its always sold out so we know that there is a large fan base and Marie even is owe us that Please think about it a movie would Awesome ……
