The media loves to put black women against each other – and to bad many of us fall for this trick. Beyonce is not successful by talent only – there are a combination of things, looks, mannerisims, and how acceptable she is among whites. Furthermore, there is this unspoken rule in Hollywood that there can only be ONE famous black female star at one time – during the 1950′s it was Dorothy Dandrige, 1970′s Diana Ross, 1980′s – 1990′s Whitney Houston, early 1990′s Mariah Carey, Mid 1990′s to early 2000′s Halle Berry and now it is Beyonce. It’s not that there are no other talented black female artist or actresses out there – white people run the media and they choose who to grant media attention on and it just so happens to be Beyonce. Bey is very smart in milking the entertainment industry for all it has because, her time will come when the mainstream has grown tired of her and move on to the next young black female star – it’s sad, but it’s also true, the mainstream media are not very particular about black women anyway – talented or not. I just think Beyonce was at the right place at the right time – she struggled for a few years before she finally crossed over and gained mainstream media attention. This just goes to show you how white people hate to see blacks succeed – they are always trying to put us against one another. It is not Beyonce’s fault that the media pays attention to her – she is not at the studios saying “Focus on me, me, me.” I don’t blame Bey for taking the role of Etta James – white Hollywood doesn’t seem to be offering her any good roles. Although I would like to see Beyonce in a more dramatic role, her playing a singer part (for the 4th time) will do. I’m just glad the girl is working, and wakes up every morning doing what she deserves.

I wish the media would pay more attention to other black females in that industry just like they do with white females.

It’s so funny how a lot of you love to hate Beyoncé. I guarantee at least half of you who run her name in the mud have all of her CDs…you are just like closeted black men…you are closeted fans…too busy hating instead of congratulating. What kind of people sit around hating on a person for doing what they love to do. If you don’t like what she puts out…don’t buy it, don’t listen…but you do both. You claim she won’t be able to act in the new Etta James role…don’t go see it…but i’m sure you’ll do that too, just so you can come back up here with your pathetic lives and post something else negative up here about her. Think about it, somebody is buying the records, someone is making her a box office giant…what’s even more surprising is how the women are tearing her down, but always preaching sisterhood. Please people, wake up and get your lives together…because right now you are pathetic…

LMAO Beyonce has 10 grammys, 150 awards and counting, sold 130 mill records, first singer on the cover of SI, first aa female to receive the ASCAP songwriter of the year award, lead singer of the best selling female group of all time, etc the list goes on and on. What has Jlo done again? Matter of fact who is Jlo? LMAO

ROTFLMBAO That was my laugh for today. Anyway Beyonce is still on top and will continue to be successful at everything she does just like she has been for the past 11 years.

remember, she did a few roles that didn’t require (too much) singing (Austin Powers, Pink Panther) and see how those turned out. *LOL i say, stick to what you know best, bey! and if they wanna give you millions to do it, keep doing it! i am not a fan, but i can respect her craft. her job is to say little, look pretty, sing a little, dance alot, and smile big for the cameras. and i don’t think for one minute that she is a dumb as she acts. she may not be the most articulate, but she understands the game and plays it very, very welll. i can’t hate on her at all because i go to work everyday and don’t make a pittance of what she is making.

In this industry you have to hand over your dignity @ the door and do as your told that is why I know sooo many talented people who don’t bother to pursue their right as a talented star. They want to do them and not be told what to sing how to sing it and how to act. Where as the rest, the most famous, the supposedly most talented are so obedient as as soon as they start to play up they get dropped- she is at the top because she does what she is told and has always done what she is told and has been brought up that way- not because of the level of her talent- Their egos guide them! she is a performer a good one that goes for it on stage @ a drop of a hat (I couldn’t do that) but she aint not lady or beauty or queen.

Look up to people who find their own way and hopefully have an education behind them. Rather then people that in realistic way you

^^SMH You wrote a paragraph full of pointless BS. Jhud only got fame because of the comparison to Beyonce. Now that that’s over have you heard from her since? Hell no. She’s struggling with her album now trying to get it right because she knows Beyonce rules the music world. Please Beyonce is the most popular black female artist who gets talked about on blogs 24/7 meanwhile everybody’s forgotten about Jhud. LMAO

And just because the haters don’t like Beyonce’s style doesn’t mean that millions of other people feel the same way. She’s had 183 mag covers so obviously people love her style. She looks gorgeous and her dress is gorgeous and this is from the Grammy’s LAST YEAR for all the slow people. SMH People on here are why black people will never get anywhere. Damn shame. SMH

Anyway stay on top Beyonce and continue making it rain on every black female artist out there because you are killing it in every aspect. Music, fashion, movies, endorsements, commercials, damn you got it all. Keep it up B.
