I don't think Mo meant that it was ok for him to wild out and cheat on her. I think she meant that they are so close that if anything like that happened he could come to her and let her know what happened and they could work on their relationship from there. She meant that she wouldn't leave him because of that. I think that is commendable because so many celebrities get married for the sake of getting married and when tough times come up they jump ship so fast. It's like how long did your marriage last? Two months. It's ridicuolus. If her man did cheat on her they would probably go to counseling to see why this happened and how they could fix it. That is something a lot of people should do in order to prove that they want their marriage to work. I don't think we should bag on them but say we hope for the best in your marriage.

I respect Monique, and her husband being honest and open with each other. But in this day and age sex with other people the hell with that! Dam I'm lost for words behind this crap because I have always respected Monique dam. I guess my biggest question is “since when is settling for less is better” or “to be with someone”?

@ Bitter

It's been my experience that to call women (especially black women) dumb is redundant. Most Black women are synonymous with DUMB! STUPID! WRETCHED! With a host of other adjectives. It's their nature to make poor decisions that will negatively effect their lives...That's why they make such good canon fodder for ridicule and they make great semen depositories.

Monique can do whatever she wants but she shouldn't get it twisted and neither should Will and Jadan or any other proponents of "open marriage"-- AN OPEN MARRIAGE ISN'T A MARRIAGE!! By definition MARRIAGE is monogamous commitment. If you care about each other, pay each others bills, have sex with other people, then just say that. IT's NOT marriage!!! Why is that so hard for people to get???

It's like making a cherry pie with peaches and still calling it a cherry pie.

In addition...Monique went on to Oprah to discuss her new movie and when she was questioned about having an open marriage, Monique stated that she meant 'open' communication, and that people instantly assumed sex. More bullsh*t, b/c I remember when Essence magazine did a story on Monique awhile back and I think Monique made it apparent she was referring to sex. I think she uses the term 'open' in all aspects, whether it be communication or sex. It's obvious that Monique doesn't value the sacredness of marriage. Why did she even bother getting married if she believed and accepted that her man might and would eventually cheat on her? If that's the case you could have had the traditional hollywood marriage...you know, where you have a spirital ceromony and live together until you are ready for new d*ck or new Pu**y.....then you split up and become the best of friends. It seems that Monique plays up to the public and needs to convince the world that somebody wants her....or maybe the reality is that she cannot fathom being plus sized and ALONE. There are many woman that will chose to have a man first, rather than deal with themselves...I think that Monique is really unhappy with herself, but as long as she has a man, she doesn't have to worry about the world knowing that. These are just my thoughts based on what I've heard, seen and read about her , from the interviews...from VH1 and form "Skinny Women Are Evil" ( yes, I read the book). I am a size 10, always have been, and I work in entertainment....I see women like Monique all the time, so use to playing up to the camera's, they forget who they really are. They forget who they really aspire to be, because there so use to slipping into character and by the time the camera's turn away, these women are tired. Too tired to really get themselves toghether mentally, physically and spiritually. They are burnt out and playing that role of the woman who is happy, is easier to do than looking in the mirror and seeing who you really are. Spending 'alone' time with that person staring back at you and taking the time to cultivate the woman you really want to be and allowing someone to give you that exclusive love you deserve. Open communication is wonderful and healthy...but an open bedroom translates into: drama, std's, low self esteem, and confusion. Come to me with that nonsence, and I got your open...here's an open door, get the f**k out! Life is to short! Lastly Monique is carrying this mofo, she got kids and gotta take care of him too! You got kids eating dirt cookies in Haiti...starving...take care of them, if you want to rescue someone. Cause best believe he ain't munching on dirt, he's munching on someone else's 'goodies' and coming back and kissing you on the mouth! How sick is that? I think he 'looks' downlow...straight up and down. But who really knows...what I do know is, Monique needs to keep her raggedy marriage details to herself from now on. Preach!
