Rocawear

It’s the ten year anniversary of Rocawear and the new stuff doesn’t look too shabby. Pop the top for the fits:

Hiphollywood takes a trip to the Rocawear showroom in NY in their wrap up. Get a taste of the fall line sans the @ss logos + some ish you might have missed this week.

    2nd??

  • Whatchaknoboutdat?

    That Rockawear gear looks so ghetto and cheap…

  • Snkrfetish

    Ha Ha

  • Rebellion is an Art. [::(]0__o[)::]

    they need to get some real young talented designer’s in that piece,…like me :P

  • jj

    Maybe they need to let Rihanna design some stuff cuz this is still not whats hot. The shirt in the middle is alright but the other 2 is cheap looking.

  • Whatever

    Nice little urban/hip hop clothing line, I suppose…

  • Angie

    Rihanna,

    Design stuff? hahaha! Riri is dressed by her stylist. That girl would be a reg hood rat without her stylist. When you see her it’s her stylist you see, not her. Wow! Do people really this this girl dress herself? hahaha!

    Tough call.Do you try to change or expand the Rocawear niche in the fashion world…? Or do you simply create a new line with no connection to it at all? I would opt for the latter.

    Roca Wear, Dereon, Apple Bottoms, J Lo, Baby Phat,G unit are all ghetto couture, but when it comes to style the roca wear and apple bottoms have more variety and dont look so cheap and trashy..imo

  • AWWWWWWWWWWWSHADDAAAAAAAP!!!!

    Is that the new ‘devil-worshiping’ line they just launched?

  • dani3000

    erbody knows rocawear is the new FUBU duh!And dereon is always next to rocawear in every store both washed up and only kids wear that garbage mic

    The best ever was the Sean Jean executive menswear. The shirts I bought my boyfriend still looks fresh. They were well-made.

    I did like some of the Rocawear & Sean John jeans from a style standpoint.They just fit like hell…and a lot of the “urban” jeans are washed in sulfur.Smells AWFUL & does’nt go away even after several washings.I’m sensitive to funky smells & will walk right out of any store where I smeel that on the jeans.(no joke) I’m probably not the only one.The brain trust @ Rocawear & the other urban labels should crack the whip on their Chinese manufacturers to use a ODOR FREE wash.

    I hope this will help them. I think people got sick of all those lines not just because of the lack of quality, but all the patterns looked the same for the most part. I like true black designers like Tracy Reese, Kevin Hall, Mychael Knight(sp). People who went to fashion school and have a passion for it, not just people who wanted a line just to make money.

    @Black:
    I agree with you all the waaaaay!!! Esp. after going to fashion design school for 3 yrs. It
    irks me when these celebrities, who would be completely hopeless w/out their stylists try to become “designers”. And by designing, I mean they nod yes or no or say “Ooh, I like that” when the final product is revealed to them minutes before a showing. I also support people who actually have a passion (and literally design not just cosign!) for fashion. Being rich is like some warrant to become a jackass-of-all-trades.

    @bluepen85
    yes and like the reason Gwen Stefani’s line L.A.M.B is doing well (well everyone struggling from the economy lol) but it selling I should rather say is because she actually has a passion. She creates sketches and makes patterns and btw her clothes are hot, especially the shoes.
    Just because one is a celebrity does not mean that you have to do everything because everything is not for you

  • bluepen85

    Yeah back in the day Gwen used to make her own clothes in high school. Now she really does have a passion and puts her OWN HAND into the design. Plus I’ve always been a fan of Gwen (we have the same first name and we’re both Libras!). No Doubt rocks!!!
