chanel iman on harpers bazaar

Chanel Iman will be around as long as the orginal Iman, Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks, and many others similar to those mentioned. She is on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Dubai this month, looking something like a model.

Folks are considering her to be the new Tyra Banks….what do you think?

  • Hannibal

NO BUT SHE CAN STILL GET IT…

  • Telling It Like It Is!

No. I really don’t get the Chanel Iman thing. She’s a tall, skinny (not slender, skinny), average looking girl. I see young girls at the mall who are sometimes shorter but, certainly prettier. With the exception of her height, it seems like someone with some pull in the industry, got infatuated(which is good for her) and is determined to take her for a ride on the hype horse to fame. It’s like a song on the radio that you really don’t like but, they play it over and over and call it the #1 hit until the general public agrees.

  • Telling It Like It Is!

I meant “with the exception of her height; she’s nothing special”

  • jazmine

No, she can’t touch Tyra. Like she is herself she is her own individual person u k

  • K-mia

    she’s definitely pretty enough!

  • k

i love her, but this picture could’ve been better.

  • Hannibal

THOSE LIPS LOOK SOFT AS HELL, SHE COULD BE VERY USEFUL…

  • CeeCee

no she is not the next Tyra lol

  • facefacts

More like next Iman… Tyra was never THAT MAJOR…like naomi but Naomi is still in the game so Iman definately Iman…wait..y be the next she’s the 1st chanel iman!

  • itsmeagain

PLEASE ladies don’t be haters, this girl is gorgeous!

  • Pam

    she looks better than tyra

  • CattyBitch

She either recently got a nose job or the magazine airbrushed it, because she had a much bigger, wider nose before. I don’t know she’s cute, but I see prettier girls walking the street.

  • beauty001

probably. trya wasn’t that good of a model she only looked good in a bathing suit.

  • MagMile

Chanel Iman is GORGEOUS!!! She’s in definitely in ranks with Iman, Naomi Campbell as they are all world-renowned beauties. Tyra is pretty, but not beautiful; she isn’t world-renowned either.

  • Kigali- Interdependent black woman

I thought Tyra had the best Sports Illustrated cover ever. But Tyra was always a commerical model. Chanel is more fashion. They are still beautiful women. Someone needs to finish burying Naomi. She is just embarrassing now.

  • Monti

Chanel is a phenom. She’ll probably have a long, successful career like Iman & Naomi. Plus she’s representing L.A.

  • bhudda

eva pigford is gorgeous. this girl is not pretty. she cute. but NOT pretty.

  • jessie

Tyra was popular what the hell are yah talking about. She is way more known and hotter then naomi

  • bhudda

hell. i’m WAY prettier than her. lol…

    c…

    myspace dot com/nadradt

    let the hate begin…

  • bhudda

    you right, jessie.

i think most of these clowns are 80s babies.

    they don’t know any better.

all they know is america’s next top model and the tyra show! lol

  • Tammy

I don’t remember seeing Tyra’s collar bone. She is cute but way to skinny.

  • princedonte

she is beautiful to me damn why can’t support each other this is why they won’t put us on the magazines cause we won’t buy it nor support we stay hating were a hateful people

  • Sterling

    They can both GTB

  • DDub

Tyra was a high fashion model she’s done all the major glossies and walked in the biggest shows. The only difference from Naomi is that she went commercial and did Sports Illustrated and became a Victoria Secret model. Those are 2 different sides of the industry and she did well in both. They’re very few that can lay claim to that.
I wish Chanel the best at being successful not being the next anybody. As for her beauty, she has timeless features (not necessarily unique). A strong jaw line, youthful eyes, long neck and pretty lips–makes her popular. Skin is another big deal. I assume her’s doesn’t have many blemishes and smooth.
Aside from those things–Very few women are model height–let alone model thin and pretty.

  • DR.FUNK

    Very pretty.Good luck kid.

  • GIVEDADDYSOMESUGAR

Why can’t she just be herself and not be associated with the next anything? She is the industry’s answer to “where are all of the Black models on the runway?” Black models do not get the work or recognition on the same scale as the White, Brazilian or European models. I wish her luck and I hope that she finds her own spotlight to shine in. When Black celebrities attend Fashion Week and see that there are no Black models and / or Black designers represented, they should walk out. Black folks must stop getting pimped by designers and fashion houses that think Black folks money is good enough to support their products but the bodies are too black to strut their products on the runway. Naomi and other Black models consistently complain of being shut out. This skin game is a dirty business. I hope this young lady is up to the challenge.

  • that one person

    @ bhudda
I looked, and i dont think u have anything on Chanel, and your old.

  • NorthernStar

She’s pretty, not gorgeous, but pretty and she has everything a top working model would need (height, slim frame, etc.) but I don’t think she’s so unique for all the press she’s getting. Still, I hope she goes far. I would say Jordan Dunn, a black British model is the next Tyra/Naomi. Seriously, she LOOKS like a top model, period. She trumps Chanel Iman, but she doesn’t get as much attention for some reason.

  • SABeauty

No effin way!!! i do not like her ever since she said that Michelle Obama looked like a man. I think she is so ugly and skinny. There are so many other prettier models out there.

  • Dmarie

    @ SABeauty

I think you have the wrong girl, I think your talking about IMAN, not Chanel Iman

  • Real Black Dude

    She’s cute.

  • iana

She’s not that pretty..normal looking. but then again, most models are

  • They complete us

I cant lie she is pretty though

  • GIVEDADDYSOMESUGAR

The fashion industry and modeling agencies do not necessarily look for “pretty” girls but girls that can be transformed into whatever specimen is appropriate for representing their look or fashion statement / campaign.

  • always knew

    Chanel Iman is absolutley beautiful.

I hope that she doesn’t act as petty as Naomi and Tyra. I also hope that she doesn;t have to hate on the other models, just to get some play.If she’s able to do these things, She should be around for a while and surpass Tyra and Naomi, put together..

I wish her good luck and success in her career.

I hope other blk women also support her
    :)

    Gorgeous blk wmn.

  • cece

This is a good change up for her. She looks good. Usually she looks the same in her pics. So she is growing as a model. I do not think she will be the next Tyra b/c she is more Editorial/High Fashion like Naomi and Liya Kebede. Tyra is more commercial. Not that there is anything wrong with being the next Tyra b/c she is beautiful too and has done well for herself.

  • Love and Happiness

Have any of you seen her work the runway? Talking bout FIERCE, hey she IS a model….makes the clothes look fabulous. She really does her job.

  • seriously?

I’d say no, simply because Tyra came along in an era where supermodels were actually SUPER. they were made into household names. today alot of models have lost work to celebrities. the likes of Madonna, Beyonce, and Scarlette Johansen are called upon to sell products and cover magazines over sessilee lopez or Daria Werbowy , the average person wouldnt know half of todays “supermodel’s” names or faces. the only reason we notice chanel iman as much as we do is because she’s one of a very small pool of black models getting work right now.

  • AWWWWWWWWWWWSHADDAAAAAAAP!!!!

I thought Yaya DaCosta was a better representation of Black elegance. She had that Nefertiti mystique on lock. I would like to have seen her look more celebrated.

  • SSH

Im not at all a fan of Chanel’s but this picture is the best I’ve ever seen. It’s gorgeous!

  • p2bplastic007

no new tyra but she is the next Naomi in terms of status …Chanel Iman Is The Diamond girl the token …

  • 11:11

She’s adorable. Might, I add the fact that the porkers on this site make it so easy for them to be pointed out- the first person to say skinny is a lard ass. Thin is a supermodel requirement.

  • annmarie

the da chick on da cver is very pretty

  • annmarie

    she is beautiuful

  • huh & what

No. Why can’t she just be herself? Why she gotta be the new somebody else?

  • Dominique

I think she’s beautiful hopefully she won’t be as annoying as Tyra is now.lol

  • GIVEDADDYSOMESUGAR

Black people come in all different shades and there is no “one” Black look and therein lies our beauty and mystery.

  • EnameL

SHE LOOKS LIKE NIA LONG IN THIS PICTURE STILL BEAUTIFUL…

  • Demeter

NO,When is Jessica White gonna get her props, she is far hotter!

  • WESTCOASTLOVE

SHES DEFINATELY A NATURAL BEAUTY hmMMmMMmM KEEPIN IT REAL I REALLY DONT THINK TYRAS THAT PRETTY AND THAT BABY HAIR +WEAVE =IIICK …. TYRAS GOIN TO HAVE TO STEP UP HER MODELING THAANG THAAANG CAUSE THESE NEW BOOTIES ARE COMING

  • WESTCOASTLOVE

AND NO SHE DOES NOT LOOK LIKE NIA LONG … NIA LONG LOOKS LIKE THE FEMALE APE ON THE PLANET OF THE APES THAT HAD A THAANG THAAANG FOR THE HUMANS …. LOL I KNO IM MEAN AND RUDE /CRUEL EVEN BUT TRUTH IS TRUTH

  • Jinny

THE NEXT BLACK KATE MOSS!DEF. NOT TYRA.

  • Jared

No, she is not the next Tyra. She is doing well in high-fashion but not commercially. Tyra was good in High Fashion but took over the commercial scene.

AND ALSO…LET’S NOT FORGET ABOUT JOURDAN DUNN!! SHE IS TEN TIMES BETTER THAN CHANEL IMAN!!!

  • Myself obviously

If her nose was skinnier she’d be pretty

  • http://corvedacosta.com Corve DaCosta

    no she’s not
