So we recently reported that Bravo was seeking cast members for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Well, looks like there will also be a Real Housewives of D.C. Might even have some cameo appearances from the ultimate D.C. housewife, Michelle Obama. Pop the lid for more
Los Angeles (E! Online) – We’re guessing Michelle Obama is otherwise booked, but some other Beltway wives are about to get the Bravo treatment.
The cable net has announced its next incarnation of the Real Housewives franchise will chronicle the dysfunctional—and eminently watchable—goings-on of the D.C. elite.
“We’re tapping personalities who are among Washington, D.C.’s influential players, cultural connoisseurs, fashion sophisticates and philanthropic leaders—the people who rub elbows with the most prominent people in the country and easily move in the city’s diverse political and social circles,” Frances Berwick, the cable net’s executive VP, announced this morning.
In other words: Move over, Countess.
No housewives have yet been cast for the new installment of the franchise, and no air date has been set.
D.C. will mark the fifth chapter of the Bravo hit, joining the gaggles already set in the O.C., New York, Atlanta and, most recently, New Jersey.
Hopefully they have some women of color on this season. D.C. isn’t called Chocolate City for nothing.
