A D.C. version of Housewives would be interesting, and there are a number of prominent black women inside the Beltway, but my guess is that they wouldn’t want to be associated with a reality show that garners high ratings from catfights and snark. The Housewives series is a vacuous, over-the-top guilty pleasure.

I’m enjoying the New Jersey Housewives, though. It’s like the real-life version of the wives of the Sopranos, and the sparks are really flying between Dina and Danielle.

BTW, the photo above is of the NYC cast whose season just ended. Bethenny, the single writer/chef with the acerbic wit, was my favorite.
