We reported on Javon Jackson being killed less than a day after his graduation with a B.A. from U.B. earlier this month. His alleged killer has been apprehended:
DeMario Cordelius, 20, of Amherst has been charged with murder in the second degree and a weapon possession charge in the death of Javon Jackson. Jackson was shot hours after he graduated with an engineering degree from UB this month.
Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown says the city’s cameras were useful in gathering evidence about the crime, including one camera funded by UB. Brown says Cordelius has confessed to the crime. The mayor also says Jackson’s parents have been notified, and they’re “absolutely relieved” that an arrest has been made, yet they are still grieving.
We pray that justice is served. What the hell is happening today? This mess must stop!
