They may vote for Black people to win stuff like American Idol – Rueben Stoddard, Fantasia, Jordin Sparks… But after that (especially since that stuff has to do with entertainment) I think that, that is where it ends for them supporting us on a national level… On the major scale, when it comes down to well-being and serious life issues & matters as it deals with this country, I can’t really see white people voting for Obama to their President…

white people surprised the s#it out of me when the voted Bush back into office for the 2nd time… There was a 2 hour movie – “Fahrenheit 9/11″, that put his incompetence, his stupidity on blast and plus it showed us how “out of touch” this mother f#cker was and plus on top of that our 4 years of living with him and his bulls%it and policies that helped the filthy rich Americans more than anybody else… Don’t forget about the voting campaigns, with the commercials and all the celebrities going on tv to tell us to vote… Remember Diddy’s Vote or Die Campaign… And these white people still voted Bush back into office…

But either way, I’m still voting for Obama because I think he’s the best person for the job, and I’m proud to see this man do his thing…

It is amazing to me that in 2008 that people (especially people of color) are saying that American is not ready for a Black President. It is that type of self hatred that keeps our people back. At one time white people were not ready for people of color to be free…but we were free. At one time white people were not ready for people of color to have the same rights they have …but we have them. At one time whites did not believe that people of color were of the same intelligence as them…however, thru time people of color have shown amaing talents and abilities that helped to shape this country.

So wake up! Change just takes one person to stand up and recognize that they can make a difference. Obviously there are millions who believe that because there are are not a lot of people of color who live in Iowa and Idaho. Event whites believe in Obama. So don’t make excuses…stand up. I can honestly say that this is the first time in my 34 years on this earth and being a native Washingtonian that I am inspired to participate in politics beyond voting.

I will be volunteering at the Obama office this weekiend in DC. I have already contributed online. I can only imagine that the way I feel now is how people must have felt when Kennedy was alive. I feel like I am experiencing a modern day Martin Luther King … as he has the ability to inspire the massed to get involved.

Living in and being from Washington is a unique thing. We get to see all sides of politics that most people don’t see. Washington needs a change. How many people have experience until they get on the job? The President gets on the job training which is why he also has a boatload of advisers and people to help him.

Each potential candidate will have the same thing. We have seen what the Clintons can do when in control. I’d rather have someone like Obama how can inspire the masses rather than a representative from parent’s generation who will vote for Hillary because she is a woman.

Please stop saying the world is not ready for a black president. Most of the world’s leaders don’t look like Bush or any of the other politicians you see running America. Most of them actualy look like Barack. Know who you are and know in the world you are not a minority. You really are not one here. If they keep saying that most of the people voting for this man is black that should tell you that you are more than 12 or 13% of the population.

I think it is great that people are so excited about this election, especially Black people. The fact that Barack Obama is running as a man and not just as a Black man is inspiring and ground laying for future presidential hopefuls. I also believe that it is plain wrong to vote for him just because he’s black, or because of party affiliation, or any other uninformed process of selection. In this day and age when information is a finger click away, you have to do your research. you have to choose a candidate based on their positions on the issues, and not just the issues tht effect you personally, but the overall issues in our country. When you do that, you’ll see that other than the fact that Obama is charismatic and a good public speaker…he is not much different from Hillary or any of the other assholes that are running, or have run in the past.
