Quote of the Day

Posted by Bossip Staff

alsharpton charlesbarkley jessejackson

Charles Barkley mentions that he does not want support from “Messy Jesse” or “Permed Up Al” when he runs for governor of Alabama:

“I don’t believe in them. They always play the race card, and you can’t always play the race card. Sometimes the race card is needed but not in every situation. We have to hold blacks more accountable for their actions.”

  2. Strong Black Man

    Charles is a bama..

  3. Narkotic5 Anonymou5

He’s damn right…***** Al Sharpton especially…I can’t wait to say that on TV one day….

  4. shoeluva

i agree whole heartedly with charles.

  5. Tip

One of the Jenna six defendants was arrested this morning for *****aulting another student in Dallas. Anybody who jumps on a bandwagon because those two hustler preachers(Al & Jessie) tells them to is a fool. Al & Jessie has never held a job in their lives and instigating race ***** is how they make their money.

  6. I HAVE THREE WORDS FOR CHUCK BARKLEY!

    HO…SIT…DOWN!

  7. Ms. Lovely

Sometimes the race card is needed but not in every situation. We have to hold blacks more accountable for their actions.

I have to co-sign with Barkley on that note.

Just in regards to that quote, he could be a total ***** behind the scenes.

  8. Strong Black Man

I agree with him..Jesse and Al are poverty pimps, but charles barkley is a sucka

  9. bree

well Al Sharpton has some really soft hands, im talkin baby soft..

    & Charles i don’t believe in them either..p.s. are you Dwyane(sp) Wade’s father?..lololol

  10. Ms. Lovely

    @ Tip

Where can I read about that.

  11. I have always been on the same page as Charles when it comes to this topic. The boy ain’t dumb.

  12. Ms. Lovely

    ‘Poverty Pimps’

    LOL

    I’m using that one.

  13. Tip

Yep, the Jenna six thug’s name is Bryant R. Purvis, 19. Of course his mother and permed up Al are again goona blame the victim and say Purvis was provoked! This is a damn shame and exactly why Obama didn’t jump on that suspect, questionable bandwagon when the pimp Jessie Jackson asked him to. Jackson told the media that it was shameful that Obama didn’t come down there to support the Jenna six. You know why?? Because Obama is too smart for those NAACP Negroes Al & Jackson, that’s why. Man, this is un*****in believable.

  14. helltothanaw

    Tip

One of the Jenna six defendants was arrested this morning for *****aulting another student in Dallas.

^^^That’s a **********in’ shame. Tens of thousands of people marched for this fool, and he’s acting like an *****. But then again, this isn’t the whole story. How did this ***** pop off? SMH…

  15. young

whos responsible for doin the screening of who becomes governor nowdays first we get swarzaneggar here in cali now this negro here wanna be governor of alabama. I guess u aint gotta know nothing bout running a state to be governor

  16. da darkness

support hah. now the states black women are really going to be left behind, hello

  17. helltothanaw

You know, I really don’t care for Charles Barkley, because he has been known to say some ignorant ***** in the past, but in this case, I co-sign. Wonder when he’s gonna run for governor? That will be interesting to watch..

  18. Little Wing

    I agree with Charles.

  19. justme

    Chuck has a point!

  20. Black to tha Bone

Mad props to Sir Charles. He is an ambitious go getter with a legendary white girl game.

  21. tj

Oh Please. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have far more experience than Charles Barkley. If throwing a basketball around makes someone a Governor then Michael Jordan should be president.

    THese athletes are such megalomaniacs.

  22. Nyeve

Charles is right and its time we started calling out our leaders in order for them to become more responsible. Jesse Jackson less so but Al Sharpton is riddiculous. My husband calls him Juanita Sharpton-Weekes. He’s just like Rev Weekes, using a *****le cause as a career opportunity. He makes the issue of our race into a national joke. Anything to do with black people it becomes the standard thing in the press “The Reverend Al Sharpton has raised objections to the use of the phrase ‘blackboard’ “. No one takes it seriously when we are discriminated against. ” oh you know what those blacks are like, always playing the race card or calling in Al Sharpton”

  23. NotoriousOne

I definitely don’t agree w/ Barkley on a lot of the stuff he says but on this one he’s definitely on point.

@ Strong Black Man…you killin’ it w/ “Poverty Pimp” that’s the sad a*s truth though.

  24. memchee

Charles is a bit out of touch…….fully brained washed by the media.

However, Jesse’s image as portrayed in the media is his own fault.

Anyone who watched the Katrina media barrage would have a helluva lot more respect for Al, Jesse and the NAACP.

Yes, Charles needs to take a seat.

  25. cystal

The media is going to have a field day with this and I don’t blame them actually. It is all over the news in Dallas/Ft. Worth (WFAA).Watch and see, it is simply a matter of time before these poster boy thugs are jailed for killing somebody. I don’t give a damn what that whiteboy said to them, six should not jump on and beat down one. Since when do Black men fight so dirty.

  26. Jane Doe

I agree with Charles. Black Folks ALWAYS play the race card….ALWAYS!!

  27. PATHETIC!

    READ THE STORY ON SANDRAROSE.COM

  28. capt'n backslap

I kinda hope he loses, so he can stay on “Inside the NBA” he’s the funniest dude on TV now that “The Office” is on strike…..

  29. da darkness

the black people of today so many think they are in power. these black men…….feds after one, t-mobile my fav five comedian, and one has aledged of having ties with the hit of dr. king jr. (source: 89.3fm atl)

  30. gAzZmAtIc

aS MUCH AS ‘CRYBABY BARKELY’ GETS ON MY NERVES… i ACTUALLY AGREE WITH HIM ON THIS. jESSE NEEDS TO WORRY ABOUT HIS OUT OF WEDLOCK KIDS AND sHARPTON NEEDS TO WORRY ABOUT THE DRYNESS OF HIS ‘LORD JESUS PERM!’. THEY PLAY THAT RACE CARD TO DEATH! wHO IN THE HELL GAVE THEM THE ok TO REPRESENT BLACK PEOPLE EVERTIME THERE IS A RACIAL CRISIS GOING ON? THEM NEGROS DONT SPEAK FOR ME!!!

  31. Black, yet very well educated

The Jena 6 thugs are a disgrace. Never will get behind such a stupid cause. We just continue to drag ourselves through the mud looking like violent out of control savages.

  32. Racer X

Charles has hit the nail on the head. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will probably Bulldoze there way in somehow, if and when charles does run for governor of Alabama. They should just stay out of his way.

  33. RIP Prop Joe

Dallas,TX is HOME of the original COON – real *****kin talk.Don’t believe everything you hear from Dallas media – hands down the most racist city that I’ve ever been in.Gather your own info, THEN make your own

    decision.

    nevertheless…

I said from the very beginning: ***** Jenna 6, and *****s was mad at me.With so much that Black people should ‘protest’, the Jena 6 debacle was TOO, TOO EASY.It merely was a superficial/promotional thing, fueled by emotion. Why not stand up for some REAL, everyday *****?***** JJ, the ***** helped kill MLK.Al Sharpton is my dude – although some of this attempts are a bit theatrical and misguided – many people discount the ***** on this appearance alone. To gain full understanding, you must OVERSTAND this ***** first…

  34. Barkley needs to sit his white woman lovin a$$ down! He is kind of right, though. lol!

  35. AL Sharpton

I agree with Charles. I suck and so does Jesse. These cats are extortionists.

And to the people who are proud of the way I handled the Jena situation, you need to be reminded that it was a radio DJ who got that ball rolling and put the structure in place. But as usual I was there to ***** the microphones and talk my divisive nonsense.

Shame on me for my wack perm and for not apologizing when I am wrong and for not repping other ethnicities who are victims of race-based crimes (it ain’t just black people)

  36. RIP Prop Joe

    oh, ***** Chuck

he’s a coon, been a coon – with NO RING

  37. Big Al Sharpton

“One of the Jenna six defendants was arrested this morning for *****aulting another student in Dallas.”

Naaw, that can’t be. Those boys were just perfect little snowflakes and cuddly angel dumplings trying to hold their heads up under the boot of oppression and the “justice” system run by the cracKKKas.

Fight the power. Free Huey. March for Jena. OJ was framed.

Now, if you’d all just get out your checkbooks…

  38. BG

I ACTUALLY AGREE W/ CHARLES ON THAT STATEMENT OF BLACK PEOPLE BEING HELD MORE ACCOUNTABLE. AND THAT JENA SIX KID FIGHTING IN TEXAS IS UNFORTUNATE. HE OBVIOUSLY DIDN’T UNDERSTAND THAT HE REPRESENTED SOMETHING BIGGER THAN HIMSELF.

  39. Lets no forget that these two men serve the purpose when needed. C. needs to go back to school to learn how to articulate properly especially since he has aspirations on becoming an elected official. His manner of speech is deplorable.

  40. Jack Tripper

I agree with Tj and Memchee

How the ***** does Charles have a point? Ok yes you dont have to pull a race card but since when has Charles been down for the upliftment of blacks? Regardless of Jessie’s tainted image he does believe in a cause (while shinning in the cams).

As I gotten older I have learn to respect Al Sharpton because he speaks on valid issues. He is knowledgeable in his approach and makes sense on the issues at hand in the black community.

If anyone is pimping your mindframe it is the media so dont get mad at Jessie and Al because these fools have done a lot especially during Dessert Storm. Al and Jessie are a threat to the media so of course they are not going to show the goodness. Let me know get started with the works of the Hon. Farrakhan.

I dont agree with all of their actions but the majority I do. I be DAMNED if I agree with some greasy chicking ignorant acting aggressive stance taking white ***** marrying fat ***** head ***** Charles Barkley on anything. He is too far removed since he be smiling up in shawhitey’s face for so many years.

Have you guys checked dudes record on his *****ing attitude while in the NBA this ***** *****a got issues. Half of you fools were not even old enough to see Barkley play. So I feel sorry for ANYBODY in BAMA if he becomes mayor!

    He has no cause!

  41. miss thang

I agree with YOU TJ. Even though it doesn’t seem like a popular sentiment in here…Al and Jesse Jackson are NOT the problem. I will never get why Black people hate them so much. It reminds me of the stories I’d hear about how Blacks hated Martin Luther King because he ‘drew too much attention’ to them. I may be the minority but I appreciate the efforts of these men no matter what. They are both smart and they could’ve chosen another life path instead of defending the rights of unappreciative Black people! I know alot of people who would have just given up under the pressure of ridicule from the very people they are trying to protect. They are not perfect but at least they are doing something besides sittin on they azz complaining about the people who hate them AND the people who love them.

It also cracks me up to see so many BLACKS defending a man who HAS NEVER HAD ANYTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE. Barkley has been hated by whites for EVER until he started taking on their views of what ALL (not a small segment) Black people are like. What gives him the right? He did not garner success by way of a vast education, labor, or hardwork. He has what he has because he was a decent athlete with an opinionated colorful personality and that is it. You better believe that he doesn’t want the support of Black people either he just won’t come right out and say it so early….

Think about it…he isn’t refusing the endorsements of Bill O’Reilly or Rush Limbaugh. Ask yourself why…

  42. He speaks with such ignorance is embar*****ing. I cringe when I hear comment on issues. What did he do in college besides play? He needs major refinement.

  43. boxer

way to go charles, i’m tired of looking at those two fools, they make their money by dividing people and stirring up bull*****.

  44. AL Sharpton

    @Big Al Sharpton

Did you have to add BIG to your name because I am already Al Sharpton? Get your own *****.

  45. Marcy

i agree with charles. only time u c them is when its something thats big in the news and they want to show their faces!! support something else than showing your faces on tv. al sharpton just had a party at a club!! your a pastor right?? whatever!!!!!

  46. K

BARKLEY IS A DUMB AS HE SOUNDS WHEN HE’S TALKING…

    LIKE A DUMB BUBBA ROCK

  47. STEFANY

While Charles is talking *****, he probably won’t get elected for governor…What experience does he has that qualify him to be governor…I remember back in the day how *****ed up his attitude was…I do agree with some of what he says but at the same time this is coming from a man married to a white women…And he can’t deny the fact that a lot of black people problems comes from the backwards ***** dirt poor education system, and lack of social, mental, and healthcare services that are available to us and particulary our children…REPUBLICANS don’t give a ***** about poor peple!!!…Charles Barkley uncle tom brown nosing Tiger Woods coon *****, shut the hell up!!!

  48. Li'l Sharp Alton

Fine, fine. Don’t get your perm in a frazzle, you huckster.

  49. K

LEARN HOW TO SPEAK BEFORE YOU RUN FOR ANYTHING…

    BIG DUMB-SOUNDING BOOB

  50. uncsweetcheeks

i agree with charles. actually i think messy jesse and al hurt us more than help us in some situations. we have to be accountable people

  51. I’m not sure what qualifies Charles Barkley to run (we’ll find out soon, I’m sure), but I COMPLETLEY agree with him. You can always count on Al Sharpton for support in the black community, but its really becoming misguided now…someone get him some new gators cause I’m sure the others are worn out from all that damn marching….

  52. miss thang

btw, NO ONE plays the race card more than Barkley. He is not even gracious with it. A true example of a black politician not playing the race card is BARACK OBAMA. EVERYTIME Barkley writes a book, a speech, or is quoted saying something ANYTHING he has to bring up Black people and how rotten he thinks they are. Like WTF? The birth of this man is one of the worst things that could have happened to Black people because he is constantly putting us down even when our crime rates, teen pregnancies, college dropout, and drug abuse rates ARE DOWN! I can’t stand his lumpy potato headed uncle fester pervert-mustache man-***** rocking *****!

  53. Kelli

Damn…I thought I’d never say this..but Charles Barkley is right. ***looking out my window for flying pigs**

  54. Chillin @ Work

PLEASE IF ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER CAN RUN FOR GOVERNMENT ….then any other *****er can!! get a grip people!!!

  55. I agree with you miss thang, Barkley should stick to basket-ball and white chicks!

  56. Dee

Is this the same brother that once said a part of the reason he didn’t date black women is because they smell?…next!

  57. Angel_Minded

    Lol -

While I agree that he shouldn’t have brought up Al & Jesse, it doesn’t take away from the fact that he has a very valid point. Ok, I get that some people don’t like Charles, b/c he married a white woman–although what that has to do w/ anything is beyond me–and b/c they think he’s a sell out. But black people do play the race card all the time! Lol, it’s like crying wolf–they yell and scream racism about something as stupid as Paris Hilton going to jail, and then when Jena 6 occurs–our arguements fall on death ears (initially).

  58. STEFANY

    K, I agree with you,

I don’t always agree with Al & Jesse’s tatics but Charles sure is hell isn’t qualified to lead no damn body…He’s alway quick to talk about how messed up black people are but never address why and how we got that way and how we are still suffering.

  59. Look at me

    i agree with Charles statement.

    @STEFANY

Its not about what you know anymore. Its about money, populrity, and talking like you got some sense. It dont take much to get a seat in Congress. Look at the terminator, the wrestler Jesse Ventura, and Steve largent the football player. Hell I might even run one day.

  60. Lauren

    Mornin ya’ll!

GO CHUCK!!! TELL THEM GREASY HEAD FAKE POLITICIANS TO BACK OFF!

  61. grace

I agree with him..Jesse and Al are poverty pimps…

    ************************************************

That is too funny. I cosign on that! This is the first time I ever agreed with Charles. Al Sharpton want to be Martin Luther King, Jr so bad. He is a self appointed civil rights leader that always find time between playing the race card to hang out at celebrity parties. Not even celebs of his generation like Patty or Gladys. No, he wants to hang with Jay-z and Piddy. The very people who have PIMPED our kids to the point where they only admire blacks who required wealth through entertainment. Our kids look down on blacks who gained wealth through education and hard work. That’s called “Acting white or talking white”

  62. Just_Wanna_Know

Preach on! I’m not feeling either of our ‘leaders.’ What exactly is it they do that gets them a check? That’s all its about at this point anyway, money. They get compensated for other peoples hardship. I haven’t been feeling Jesse since he made the comment that if he’s walking down the street and someone’s behind him, he’s relieved if the person is white? I mean really, does he think only people of color commit crimes? SMDH again.

  63. Just Sit And Be Pretty

In other news: According to CNN, Mitt Romney set to announce that he is suspending his campaign.

Guess he doesn’t want to keep spending millions of his own dough when it’ll be futile.

  64. gimime a break

    vote for charles barkley

but he actually right these two

    basically preach racism

    the martin kings wannabe

  65. STEFANY

U r right Look at me,

I forgot about Arnold no english speaking *****!

    ****************************************8

Preach on MISS THANG, JACK TRIPPER & STEW!!!!

What in the hell has Charles done for black people, Al & Jesse are media w*****s at time but at least they get ***** done!

  66. S Dot

I have to agree with that one!

  67. Kenny

Why is it that BLACK people dont seem to understand that “RACE CARD” implies that racism is a game(excuse) that black people play as opposed to be held accountable for whatever. We can be so stupid, manipulated and led sometimes. I never see this much hate and p*****ion from us until it toward AL or Jesse or any other black leader (obama excluded so far). Without Al sharpton so much police and government corruption would have been swept under the rug its ridiculous. Louima, Diallo and sean bell just to name a few, where al goes news cameras follow (thank god). Besides, believe it or not the media appointed al sharpton as the leader of black people in america we didnt. They did it because they thought he was silly and shouldnt be taken seriously, so we shouldnt be taken seriously as a people. Any black leader that has ever existed has been portrayed as a fool or clown in their time. Not being appreciated till later. As soon as a black man in this country says that blacks need to join forces they portray him as a divicive racist who cheats on his wife lol. They lead us to believe that they are clowns, and we are all too willing to be led. Remember its easy for “successful” negros like Charles Barkley to make these kind of statements he hasent had to live the adult life of an average black man in this country because he was able to hurl a 4lbs ball at a hoop better than most of us. Yall act like black people are never held accountable for ***** cause we can play the race card to get out of any trouble lol. Foolish negros, all that is an illusion, Blacks are 13% of the general population and 73% of the inmates in this country. to me that’s being held overly accountable.

  68. Moomoo

Is this the same brother that once said a part of the reason he didn’t date black women is because they smell?…next!

    ^^^^

    *DEAD*

  69. The JACK OFF Artist...

I’M WITH YOU CHARLES FORGET THEM LAME *****S THEY SET NEGROS BACK… FORGET THEM AND THAT bet *****

THEY ARE NOT A GOOD LOOK FOR BLACK PEOPLE YA DONT NEED THEM CRABS ANYWAY

  70. He is definitely not a part of W.E. DuBios talented tenth.

  71. Finally

Finally someone who feels like i do….Al and Jesse are hypocrites!!!!

  72. ADRIENNE

ALREADY!!!! THATS THE REALEST ***** HE EVER SAID!!!!LOL

  73. C

    Well said,Charles.

  74. bissiB

I agree that every situation isn’t racial but at least Sharpton and Jackson support black people. All white people don’t get along but they will stick together and support each other. Charles Barkley is a phony and an opportunist. Remember all the nasty comments he made publically about black females? Just because he fell for a few tricks he thinks all black women are trifling? Is his mother not black? He talks to irresponisbly to be taken serious. If they elect that *****hole governer of any state I’m moving to Uganda. F**K Barkley.

  75. FLYYGIRL

Well ole boy from Jena thought someone slashed his tires and *****ulted him he is suspended 3 days and 10 days in school suspension… I live in Dallas and I know when I was going to school in Carrollton we had a zero tolerance programs people who fight get arrested first and ask questions later… I believe thats how it should go down. you shouldn’t be fighting in school neway… Thats a shame all those people marching for injustice in jena then he comes her to start more trouble…. But yea the Dallas media is not a friend to black people esp when they do something wrong I swear they leave their pictures up longer when reporting their crimes esp when that whole Michael Irvin thing went down 10 yrs ago channel 5 (NBC) was on that…

  76. STEFANY

    THANK YOU KENNY!!

Charles is always talking about how messed up we are but never addresses the how and why…He’s a successful tom who hasn’t suffered the plight of the average poor black man in America…CHarles is no better than the white man who blames the disadvantage black person for his proplems…Why don’t he get his sorry black ***** out and advacate for better schools, education, and after school programs for our youth…He does nothing with his celebrity for the movement of black people except ***** about how bad we are.

  77. **STAY OUT OF OUR BUSINESS BOSSIP!**

Don’t try the ol’ “divide &conquer” theory with me. . .dont ridicule Jesse or Al by using Charles Barkley statments to your advantage.

Im not one of these ppl who take these things for face value. I know white media outlets say words they want to say by using celebrities and make stories of it.

  78. Kurt Eric Munroe

I agree with Sir Charles. He has to run a modern campaign. If we expect to see more minorities running for higher office they have to keep on the road of broader vision. That is not to say ignore certain issues, but to look at the independent variables that impact the issues. It is reasonable.

When the country and the nature of political-economic competition changes we must revise our perspectives or we will become outdated in thought and behavior.

Whether or not Obama wins the White House we will have to continue stepping up our global image for political and economic gains. POWER.

  79. I Don't follow I Lead

Criticism of Jessie and Al coming from one of the most ignorant, inarticulate baffoon’s currently sitting in a sports anchor chair is laughable. This is a man that other than being an average athelete has never contributed anything of relevance to society, black or otherwise. He talks about Mr. Jackson and Mr. Sharpton, yet he fails to recognize how he is tolerated because he stand for nothing of substance other than the next golf game, night of gambling or some inarticulate poorly stated rant that he has trouble spitting out on TNT. Don’t worry Charles I’m sure Al or Jessie would not come out to support your bid to become Gov. Alabama, they probably think even less of you than you do of them

  80. Black Sistas got it go n on!

Charles Barkley is a jack ***** we need more people like Jesse and Al stupid or not just how his dumb ***** got here! Do you know how many whites are still racist that ***** ain’t no secret! Look at T.V Look at the grammy’s look at screen actors guild awards they dominate all the awards and the shows period point blank!

What whitey had him say that *****! The point is we need them to keep the whitey’s in line Martin and Malcolm dead so we gota have somebody to slow them down when they get started!

  81. JEANNIE

    TELL UM’ bissiB.

    EDUCATE THESE PEOPLE.

  82. JEANNIE

    I LOVE IT….

    tell um’ IDontFollowILead and BlackSistasGotItGoingOn

glad to see some people are not sleeping….

  83. Shawn08

I really do not like Barkley as a black man most times, but I do believe in what he is saying.

I really don’t like Jesse, but Al gets my support in the fact that he will stand up for what is right no matter whose opposed. What I don’t like about both Jesse & Al is the fact that you have to put out big money just to have them speak on right verses wrong. I never knew righteous acts cost…

  84. ResearchDONE

I am so hoping he runs for Gov. I live in Alabama and I would probably vote for him. Although, I like our current Gov.

  85. I agree with Charles and Prop Joe.

Them *****z out for self always have been. And we do need to stand up for something more than *****z going to jail for *****in up crackaz.

Let’s get serious pepole. The only why for us to get further is to teach our kids how to be politicians instead of ball players. The President don’t run ***** and we all gonna see when Obama takes office (yeah I said it). Congress run *****. The more blacks in congress the more power we will have.

  86. Black Sistas got it go n on!

Not to mention as long as there is racism the RACE COULD SHOULD BE PLAYED FLAT OUT! When racism stops towards blacks then the race card should stop! You can’t have one without the other!

white people still show blacks they are in charge by doin underhanded ***** to this day! Bush stole the election we needed ten more dumb al and jesse’s that day! So stop bashing blacks that want to stand up for your dumb black *****!

  87. BrutallyHonest

While I pay no *****ing attention to what Charles has to say about politics, I find it funny how outraged the black women are at comments Barkley made about black women when BLACK WOMEN consistently go on talk shows run down black men. Personally, I find it wrong both ways, Charles shouldn’t have said a thing but I wonder if the same outrage is shown when a black woman runs to Tyra, Oprah, Montel, etc.. telling the world just how sorry us black men are. Now I’ve dated all races and now I’m with a very intelligent, very gorgeous black woman whom I plan to marry in the future. They all smell the same, like women. LOL So before you kill idiot Barkley for his comments, look at the entire story and how we can be hypocrites at times.

  88. BrutallyHonest

    Dink,

That’s the truest ***** uttered in here. Congress *****es! You got them votes on the floor, you can run *****, so after Obama gets in office, we go to work.

  89. Black Sistas got it go n on!

I LOVE YOU KENNY! READ MY STUFF I AGREE WITH YOU 200% BLACK PEOPLE NEED TO WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE!

  90. Black Sistas got it go n on!

    KENNY

    READ MYSTUFF TOO YOUR AWESOME!

  91. Look at me

We dont need Al a Jesse to speak up for us, we can do it ourselves. Start first by investing more time in our own black families, and mentor those children who are not our family. Most of the problems we have today are because of lack of family and support of our own. We invest our time and money in other things except our families. Thats why other racial groups prosper after they are long gone because they leave investments and real estate for their families

  92. Common Sense

Could someone please give me a SOURCE, other than some half-a$$ed blog, that proves Charles said those things about black women? You people are so guillible. I heard Tommy Hilfiger told Oprah he hates black people on her show……

Charles is right. Black people need to make other black people (starting with their children) more accountable. Jena 6 is a perfect example. We looked for every possible racial angle to absolve those boys, when in reality, we should have called it like it was, a bunch of illiterate thugs who lacked the sophistication to know you can’t beat up some ignorant cracker 6 on 1 in a racially segregated southern town…..6 ON 1…and we hold marches for these fools.

I also find it hilarious that some of you jump to point out that he dates white women. So that somehow disqualifies him from being concerned with the black race? Really? Instead of creating a straw man to attack, why don’t you attack what he said.

For all the so-called good Al Sharton has done, he’s done 10000x worse in his Tawana Brawley routine. THERE IS REAL RACISM IN THE WORLD, but you dilute the perception of it when you cry wolf over the Jena 6’s and the Tawana Brawley’s of the world. So when NY cops shot an unarmed African man 41 times, the rest of the world, white, latino, asian, looks at it and goes: “oh man, there’s those race hustlers going on about nothing again.”

THAT’S the danger of the race card and THAT’S the damage Jesse and Al have done. Pick your F-ing battles, and research who you march for. I would have burnt $ before I ever donated it to some Jena 6 defense fund.

  93. joka

Jesse goes to the highest bidder. He makes a big loud stink of things to up the amount of ‘hush’ money he will get. He stops by the company I work with once a year to pick up a check.

  94. RU$$

Tom’s used to say the same about MLK back in the day.

  95. Look at me

    ^^^good point common sense

  96. Black Sistas got it go n on!

CHARLES WILL REAP WHAT HE SOW AND HE WILL BE CALLING AL AND jESSE WATch!

Not to mention HOW IN THE HELL YOU DON’T LIKE ME JUST OF THE COLOR OF MY SKIN! and we bashing 2 blacks that want to stand up for us! barkley ugly anyway I don’t care if he think I smell or not he look like he smell that’s *****ed up money don’t change you it changes your financial status!

  98. Lube and a Tube Sock

co-sign with common sense…lol man that was some clown ***** ***** we got all involved in..

  99. joka

RU$$, there is a big difference in MLK and Jesse and Al.

  100. Common Sense

    @RU$$

Comparing what MLK was up against in the 50’s and 60’s to today is F-ing hilarious. If you said those things about MLK you WERE a Tom because they were up against some real sh*t. I think lynchings, jim crow laws, and segregation are a bit more serious than, “oh I can’t get a cab” or ‘I got followed in a store.” or “I can’t believe that want to punish our dear boys for beating up a kid 6 on 1.”

I am not trying to say that racism does not exist, it’s alive and well, and will be here long after we have a black president, etc. As long as people are different and as long as there are stupid people, that sh*t will continue.

But how bout some perspective. You want to know what racism and injustice truly are, ask a black person older than 50 (especially one that lived in the south). Jesse and Al are about as much like MLK as Mike Tyson is like Mohammed Ali, both are black…..

    ***Same issues…Different Day***

12 Things The Negro Must Do For Himself

    by Nannie Helen Burroughs

    (Circa Early 1900’s)

    1. The Negro Must Learn To Put First Things First. The First Things Are: Education; Development of Character Traits; A Trade and Home Ownership.

    · The Negro puts too much of his earning in clothes, in food, in show and in having what he calls “a good time.” The Dr. Kelly Miller said, “The Negro buys what he WANTS and begs for what he needs.”

    2. The Negro Must Stop Expecting God and White Folk To Do For Him What He Can Do For Himself.

    · It is the “Divine Plan” that the strong shall help the weak, but even God does not do for man what man can do for himself. The Negro will have to do exactly what Jesus told the man (in John 5:8) to do–Carry his own load–”Take up your bed and walk.”

    3. The Negro Must Keep Himself, His Children And His Home Clean And Make The Surroundings In Which He Lives Comfortable and Attractive.

    · He must learn to “run his community up”–not down. We can segregate by law, we integrate only by living. Civilization is not a matter of race, it is a matter of standards. Believe it or not–some day, some race is going to outdo the Anglo-Saxon, completely. It can be the Negro race, if the Negro gets sense enough. Civilization goes up and down that way.

    4. The Negro Must Learn To Dress More Appropriately For Work And For Leisure.

    · Knowing what to wear–how to wear it–when to wear it and where to wear it, are earmarks of common sense, culture and also an index to character.

    5. The Negro Must Make His Religion An Everyday Practice And Not Just A Sunday-Go-To-Meeting Emotional Affair.

    6. The Negro Must Highly Resolve To Wipe Out M***** Ignorance.

    · The leaders of the race must teach and inspire the m*****es to become eager and determined to improve mentally, morally and spiritually, and to meet the basic requirements of good citizenship.

    · We should initiate an intensive literacy campaign in America, as well as in Africa. Ignorance– satisfied ignorance –is a millstone about the neck of the race. It is democracy’s greatest burden.

    · Social integration is a relationship attained as a result of the cultivation of kindred social ideals, interests and standards.

    · It is a blending process that requires time, understanding and kindred purposes to achieve. Likes alone and not laws can do it.

    7. The Negro Must Stop Charging His Failures Up To His “Color” And To White People’s Attitude.

    · The truth of the matter is that good service and conduct will make senseless race prejudice fade like mist before the rising sun.

    · God never intended that a man’s color shall be anything other than a badge of distinction . It is high time that all races were learning that fact. The Negro must first QUALIFY for whatever position he wants. Purpose, initiative, ingenuity and industry are the keys that all men use to get what they want. The Negro will have to do the same. He must make himself a workman who is too skilled not to be wanted, and too DEPENDABLE not to be on the job, according to promise or plan. He will never become a vital factor in industry until he learns to put into his work the vitalizing force of initiative, skill and dependability. He has gone “RIGHTS” mad and “DUTY” dumb.

    8. The Negro Must Overcome His Bad Job Habits.

    · He must make a brand new reputation for himself in the world of labor. His bad job habits are absenteeism, funerals to attend, or a little business to look after. The Negro runs an off and on business. He also has a bad reputation for conduct on the job–such as petty quarreling with other help, incessant loud talking about nothing; loafing, carelessness, due to lack of job pride; insolence, gum chewing and–too often–liquor drinking. Just plain bad job habits!

    9. He Must Improve His Conduct In Public Places.

    · Taken as a whole, he is entirely too loud and too ill-mannered.

    · There is much talk about wiping out racial segregation and also much talk about achieving integration.

    · Segregation is a physical arrangement by which people are separated in various services.

    · It is definitely up to the Negro to wipe out the apparent justification or excuse for segregation.

    · The only effective way to do it is to clean up and keep clean. By practice, cleanliness will become a habit and habit becomes character.

    10. The Negro Must Learn How To Operate Business For People–Not For Negro People, Only.

    · To do business, he will have to remove all typical “earmarks,” business principles; measure up to accepted standards and meet stimulating competition, graciously–in fact, he must learn to welcome competition.

    11. The Average So-Called Educated Negro Will Have To Come Down Out Of The Air. He Is Too Inflated Over Nothing. He Needs An Experience Similar To The One That Ezekiel Had–(Ezekiel 3:14-19). And He Must Do What Ezekiel Did

    · Otherwise, through indifference, as to the plight of the m*****es, the Negro, who thinks that he has escaped, will lose his own soul. It will do all leaders good to read Hebrew 13:3, and the first Thirty-seven Chapters of Ezekiel.

    · A race transformation itself through its own leaders and its sensible “common people.” A race rises on its own wings, or is held down by its own weight. True leaders are never “things apart from the people.” They are the m*****es. They simply got to the front ahead of them. Their only business at the front is to inspire to m*****es by hard work and *****le example and challenge them to “Come on!” Dante stated a fact when he said, “Show the people the light and they will find the way!”

    · There must arise within the Negro race a leadership that is not out hunting bargains for itself. A *****le example is found in the men and women of the Negro race, who, in the early days, laid down their lives for the people. Their invaluable contributions have not been appraised by the “latter-day leaders.” In many cases, their names would never be recorded, among the unsung heroes of the world, but for the fact that white friends have written them there.

“Lord, God of Hosts, Be with us yet.”

    · The Negro of today does not realize that, but, for these exhibits A’s, that certainly show the innate possibilities of members of their own race, white people would not have been moved to make such princely investments in lives and money, as they have made, for the establishment of schools and for the on-going of the race.

    12. The Negro Must Stop Forgetting His Friends. “Remember.”

    · Read Deuteronomy 24:18. Deuteronomy rings the big bell of gratitude. Why? Because an ingrate is an abomination in the sight of God. God is constantly telling us that “I the Lord thy God delivered you” –through human instrumentalities.

    · The American Negro has had and still has friends–in the North and in the South. These friends not only pray, speak, write, influence others, but make unbelievable, unpublished sacrifices and contributions for the advancement of the race–for their brothers in bonds.

    · The *****lest thing that the Negro can do is to so live and labor that these benefactors will not have given in vain. The Negro must make his heart warm with gratitude, his lips sweet with thanks and his heart and mind resolute with purpose to justify the sacrifices and stand on his feet and go forward– “God is no respector of persons. In every nation, he that feareth him and worketh righteousness is” sure to win out. Get to work! That’s the answer to everything that hurts us. We talk too much about nothing instead of redeeming the time by working.

    R-E-M-E-M-B-E-R

    * In spite of race prejudice, America is brim full of opportunities. Go after them!

And, this was written in the early 1900 ’s! The more things change the more they stay the same.

  103. pst

How are black people going to start holding other people accountable, let alone their children, if we don’t hold themselves accountable. Each Black person should set the example be holding them self accountable before expecting someone else to, including our children.

  104. BrutallyHonest

Keep droppin that knowledge Common Sense, it’s funny how they call Barkley brainwashed when they are the very ones that are brainwashed. Did that fool really compare those two clowns to MLK? He was probably in Jena marching for those *****in idiots. Don’t they realize the REAL problem was that in 2007, some white folks in Jena actually thought it was OKAY to hang a *****in noose? Why doesn’t that happen up here in the East Coast or the Midwest or the West Coast? I’m pretty sure if MLK were alive he had a much higher level of respect for Obama than Rev. AL and Jesse. MLK was ducking waterhoses and police dogs while Reverend Al is pitching reality shows. What a *****in joke. Black folks, much like lemmings, follow whatever they are told.

  105. VeeZee

Who the ***** you calling a “negro”….BINK????? Check yo self playa!!!

  106. VeeZee

But Charles Barkley IS the truth. I stand with him 100%.

  107. Common Sense

    @Black Sistas,

Dear, if you want to be taken seriously by anyone other than your momma and the uneduated/barely literate, how bout writing in a manner that doesn’t sound like a coon. I can barely look at what you type because it’s all in caps and it’s its unintelligible.

WAIT! I just saw that you wrote you’re a teacher?!?!?!?

Well F-me, you want to know what black youth are failing, this rocket scientist is teaching them. I know you don’t teach at a predominantly white HS because they’d never let you near the chalk board with your amos and andy routine.

    “You must don’t have kids”…….

Until black people learn to take themselves seriously, how can we expect and demand others to do the same?

  108. MistaO

    Regarding Jena 6

Ummm, not to break up some of yall’s bashing party, but um what happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Sheesh, seems we as Black folk wouldn’t be so darn quick to indict our own before ALL the facts are laid out!!!

Folks all crying bout they shouldn’t have supported these young brothers and what not, well next time (and you know there will be a next time) don’t. Just let us solid Blacks carry the weight, we always do anyhow.

And on the same note, have you all seen cases where a white man will use deadly force to protect “property” and the system deems it justified?

Well heck yea, right down there in Texas last year, a white man shot and killed two Black men with a shot gun who he saw coming out of his neighbors home.

And you know what? I agree with this shooting. I do. I had this conversation with my wife and had to put it to her like this: I my neighbor across the street saw two men coming out of my house (through a window, no less) and he knew that those men did not necessarily belong there, went out and told both to stop, and they didn’t, well hell yes, I’d support blowing holes in both.

Why, because we as CITIZENS have the right to protect ones person AND property! Plus, I had to tell wifey, who’s to say those men didn’t just rape and kill a family member in that house? I would do the same for one of my neighbors trust and believe.

So to me, this young man very much had a right AS A CITIZEN to defend his property, just like that white man had the right to smoke those fools coming out of his neighbors house after he told them to stop.

Bump all that waiting on the law and what not, that’s why WE have the 2nd amendment too.

Regarding Mr. Jackson and Mr. Sharpton:

Funny how some black folk buy wholesale into white folks view of both of these great men. Yes I said it, great men.

Also, I bet many of these ole shoe shine negros (like charles) feel this way that is until white folks give them their inevitable “n” wake up call. I always like to see these good ole m*****a negros come running back to people like Mr. Jackson and Mr. Sharpton when their tit is in a wringer.

I don’t think any conscious Black person belives that “we” don’t have work to do in the accountability forum, but to lump that onto Jackson and Sharpton is not necessarily fair.

Plus, I’ve seen white folk use the “race card” far more often than any Black. For instance, when applying for a home loan, insurance, car loans, business loans, bankruptcy, jobs. Hell that race card has been real good to them huh?

  109. Lube and a Tube Sock

Lol there’s a good chance I might go into the private sector called “Activism” and if I ever ac*****ulate a fortune of more than a million dollars while “helping people”..I’ll know I lost myself somewhere along the way..Jesus did it for free. that’s truth

  110. BrutallyHonest

What Black folks really need to be concerned with is how a Democrat can never when a Southern State because of sellout Baptist Preachers who side the the GOP even though half the church can’t get a job or pay for gas to get there.

  114. miss thang

Britally disHonest stop lying. When was the last time you had a famous sister go on TELEVISION, MAGAZINE or RADIO and talk about she doesn’t date Black men because they smell or are jealous of white men or are loud and always in jail every chance she gets…TELL THE TRUTH AND BE BRUTALLY HONEST ABOUT THAT. It is something that is going on much too often and we need to turn our backs on these people the way they have turned their backs on us!

*****ody is bringing up the race of his mate as an excuse to hate him, but as ADDITIONAL proof of his obvious distaste for his people. Charles Barkley WE GET IT. You don’t like Black women…you don’t like Black leaders…you don’t like Black men in the hood. GREAT. MOST OF US COULD DO WITHOUT YOUR INARTICULATE REACTIONARY PROVOCATIVE ILL WILLED BIAS OPINIONS OF US TOO. Get to steppin Uncle Charles!

  115. LeeLee

    Umm… HE’S RIGHT!

  116. Lube and a Tube Sock

@Brutally Honest…”What Black folks really need to be concerned with is how a Democrat can never when a Southern State because of sellout Baptist Preachers who side the the GOP even though half the church can’t get a job or pay for gas to get there.”

    Preach now…

  117. Huh?

Charles is right on this topic. He’s still a jack*****. You know there is a middle ground between being a coonery and race baiting.

  118. SMDH

    LOL!!

Isn’t this is same *****ing monkey who posed on the front of a magazine with a chain and shackles around his neck and hands??

Like with a great deal of black men this *****ing self hating coon son of a bytch will not only put his own down but will play the race card himself as he did when he got into trouble.. Its amazing to me how the black man feels everyone needs to just move ahead until its convenient to him to hold us back in those race games.. Charles Barkley will play the race card quicker than he’ll dunk a basketball..

Atleast Al and Jesse are upfront with their *****..

and ROTFLMBAO at this ***** really believing he has a chance at winning a Governorship.. Well Charly old boy – to win a Governorship in Georgia, you’re gonna need to many black womens votes to make that pipe dream happen and I think we all know where he stands on getting the black womans vote…

    SMDH!!

  119. @MistaO

    U make a good point

  120. miss thang

I agree…we need to hold Black accountable??? What country are you idiots living in? WE ARE HELD ACCOUNTABLE EVEN FOR ***** WE HAVEN’T DONE! If anything we are held OVERLY accountable! Seriously…did you know that Black men receive longer jail time than their white counterparts for the SAME EXACT CRIME??? Yet you sit here and type away about ACCOUNTABILITY? We are the hardest on ourselves! If something is unfair (and yes that ruling of those Jena boys was unfair!!!) we should protest just like we have been doing since our arrival in this country. We have a resposibility to make sure that we have the same equal rights as everyone else. PERIOD.

  121. Huh?

    MistaO,

No sane black person denies racism, but only a sucker would think pimpdaddy Sharpton is a “great man”.

  122. Lube and a Tube Sock

Charles Barkley is chump, lol what “brother” plays in Phoenix, Arizona?? *****s like Shaq, Raja Bell, Kevin Johnson…People need to understand a lot of the athletes play in cities that like…Arizona is as bout as “dark” as the desert…Charles has no chance at winning a 30percent black state…lol no chance..He ain’t never won ***** with his George Forman lookin *****

  123. Common Sense

Again, any proof that Charles said this…..I am waiting……I heard that Alicia Keys is a lesbian and that Shaq has a small *****….IT MUST BE TRUE (how else could that poor small ex-wife of his take it?)

    Mista0,

Please explain to me how hanging a noose (as discpicable and enraging it might be) is an attack on somebody’s person? Sorry, but being part of civilized society means abiding by its rules. Which mean, you can’t beat the ***** out of some *****hole for being an ignorant *****hole (6 on 1).

Please show me a case where the jury acquitted someone because they were insulted or threatened, and then retaliated 6 on 1.

Please look at it like this. If a white italian boy was in Harlem, and some brother told him that he was going to beat his white ***** to death and then f- his mama. So the white guy goes back to Bensonhurts and gets 5 other pisans and they beat the brother down. IS THIS JUSTIFIED????

  124. Common Sense

And whether or not you think it’s justified, it sure as hell ain’t legal.

  125. Common Sense

And whether or not you think it’s justified, it sure as hell ain’t legal.

  126. Lube and a Tube Sock

lol you know we like to whoop an italian boy once in awhile and ***** his sister cause she been eying me for a minute

  127. MistaO

@Dink – that list you posted written for Black people back in 1900. Good post, and I’d say all is just as attributable to whites and other races as well today. Blacks arent the only ones out here shiftless and what not, trust and belive.

Oh and yes, Charles Barkley is just one in a long line of closeted self haters. While there may be some truth in some of what he says, (I mean heck, a broke clock is right two times a day), this dude is so clearly a self hating Black.

I know some of yall we are the world types hate this, but just like those old school fathers and mothers who did raise their children right used to say “you can’t talk Black and sleep white”. Now that’s real talk.

  128. Common Sense

    @Miss Thang,

The notion that Blacks are hardest on Black is about 10% correct. As in, 10% are hard on blacks (like Cosby), and the other 90% whine about how that 10% are coons.

If we were so hard on ourselves, then explain why we think it’s somehow socially exceptable for our young men to go to jail before college. Explain why my family members that do teach are frustrated by absent black parents who don’t give a ***** about their children’s education, and want to whine about 2nd chances when life drops the boom on them. College was the first time I was surrounded by Asians, South Asians, and Jews (and to some extent, native Africans), and let me tell you THOSE PEOPLE are hard on themselves. They DEMAND excellence from their children or they consider them failures. We don’t demand *****.

  129. Truly

Finally, it’s said. Blacks need to start taking responsiblity for their actions and stop seeing themselves as victims, all the time. If they don’t, they won’t become better off.

  130. i agree charles. Black power sometimes just doesn’t fit the issue or cir*****stances.

  131. Nita

@ RIP Prop Joe wrote, “Don’t believe everything you hear from Dallas media”

    – That goes for all media. But word.

” – hands down the most racist city that I’ve ever been in.”

    – I’ve heard some ***** about Houston, though…. and there are places in the south that even white folks won’t venture.

“Gather your own info, THEN make your own

    decision.”

    – wise advise.

As for this relating to Jena 6, wrong is wrong, even when those being wronged are unsavory. What happened to those kids was an example of a punishment far beyond what was necessary. The white kid was presented as having been taken to the hospital as if he had been mortally wounded……….. that wasn’t the case at all. I agree with those who marched for Jena 6. That town came down too hard on those kids, and apparently the principle was forced to do so by white ‘higher ups’. Now, what those kids do with their chance is up to them. It’s unreasonable to expect them to suddenly be straight and narrow astrophysicists when the black community doesn’t really support straight and narrow astrophysicists unless they’re also ‘cool’, and ‘cool in clowning’.

“It merely was a superficial/promotional thing, fueled by emotion. Why not stand up for some REAL, everyday *****?”

    – You know, I believe, what happened to Jena 6 was real, everyday *****. Real, everyday ***** is muddled. There are no black and whites, only grays.

“***** JJ, the ***** helped kill MLK.”

    – like ***** Farrakhan for helping to kill Malcolm?

I hope not…though you’re not the first person I heard that from.

“Al Sharpton is my dude – although some of this attempts are a bit theatrical and misguided”

    – I had his number when he was photographed with Ann Coulter a couple years ago. Those huggy photographs of 50 and Paris reminded me of Al and Ann… except Al and Ann were not virtual sexing. It’s all bull*****. Having said that, Al is more like Don King — who also tried to pretend he was a black activist and black leader while doing dirty with the mob — than anyone.

Jesse has lost his way and plays a hustle game with white folks who are more than happy to exchange money for racial salvation……….. but Jesse used to always be called on to free hostages in *****ed up places. He wasn’t a ’shadow Senator’ for nothing. Jesse had real power, as much power as the Democrats were going to allow a black man who out-charisma’d any of them.

Al ain’t never freed no hostages. Are you from New York, though? Is Al more popular than Calvin Butts?

  132. @Miss Thing

    I agree and dis agree

I am a black man who has been to jail many times (6 to be exact) so I get that part. But if I was to come home and start to blame the “white man” for “holdin’ me back” I would not be the successfull black man that I am today. I got my ***** together cause after I *****ed up my life not after the “white man” *****ed it up. That’s what we mean when we say being accountable. We can’t keep sayin that we can’t make it cause they wont let us. If it means we have to work twice as hard than so be it but it is possible.

  133. I am/You are Barak/Jesse/Al/Charles....

Who do you want in your corner if you get caught up:

Jesse Jackson (Child out of wedlock)

Al Sharpton (Wrong in the Tawanna Brawley case)

    Charles Barkley

If we as human beings are truly, simply ’shades of each other’, then color me Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson. They may be wrong in some instances, but they get it done.

When/why did people of color adopt this ‘race-card’, hate Jesse/Al movement? They are flawed men, just like your every other human being. But at least they have track records of change in issues of human rights….

  134. With the emergence of political figures like Obama, Deval Patrick and more, Jesse & Al’s racebaiting ways are losing favor and they’ll fade away.

  135. miss thang

Commonsense…please show me where people said the BEATINGS were the reason they were marching as opposed to the proposed SENTENCING…

Also, why is it that whenever we talk about Charles Barkley there is always that one person who claims to have never heard of CB’s opinions of Black women? Seriously..where have you been and why is it so hard for you to believe that a man who wrote a book titled ‘WHO IS AFRAID OF A LARGE BLACK MAN’ would say these things…I think it is just your embar*****ment of supporting a Black man who thinks this way. The proof is in his books and numerous radio and magazine interviews where he says these things half jokingly without apology. Google it bruh!

  136. Kenny

See people the thing is that this board is a microcosm of blacks in this country and in general, I believe. I have to defend us more vigorously from us, then from anyone else. Reading some of these posts I would think thats all white speak proper english own businesses, acted properly in public, were never consumed by materialism and had no bad habits at all. lol, crazy.

Black people dont have, nor have we ever had unity in m*****. I mean we are a tribal people, like most people but our tribes are always smaller which is really the huge issue. Even back in Africa we were and still are in tribes, hardly ever in empires. That is why whites were able to take us into slavery in the first place. See the tribe mentality is cool but we dont kno when to join forces to ward off the bigger threat. We cant even identify a threat. Every empire needs an emperor. we need(ed) a leader to unite us. Any body needs a mind.

Yo I got a theory. I think that we need a leader that doesnt come from the church. We need a good black capitolist. This way they wont be held to this HIGH moral standard.

  137. you know

Finally somebody speaking the truth. Race is “an” issue but not always “the” issue.

  138. Kenny

    I am/You are

    Perfect!

  139. Common Sense

    Miss Thang,

If these statements were/are so ubiquitous, then you should have no problems finding me a link to a news article or something that substantiates it. Again, there are plenty of BS rumours that are widely believed, does that make them true…..I await yours, or anyone’s proof in a link or something that points thereto. Just because you heard it on Al Joyner or the idiot DJ on the radio, doesn’t make it real.

  140. They do hold blacks accountable for their actions silly *****. Since when have blacks not been held accountable, some even held for things they didnt do, you dont want support from those two, that understandable but dont bring “blacks” into it.

    YOU ALL DISGUST ME.

  143. MistaO

@common – I was refering to one of the young men charged in the Jena 6, being recently arrested at a new school in Tx, where someone vandalized his car. Not the actual noose event at Jena.

  144. Common Sense

    Kenny,

you make very astute observations, especially about Africa and the slave trade.

As for the Black capitalists, we got them, but they get no love unless they made their money pushing violence and sex to our children or in sports.

Stanley O’Neal was CEO of Merril Lynch, the epitome of old white money in this country. Kenneth Chennault is CEO of American Express. These brothas came up through the 60’s and 70’s and made themselves into CEO’s. I bet about 3 of the people here even know who they are.

Of course there’s Oprah, but white people like her, so she probably doesn’t count.

  145. Name me one “black” who has broken the law and is not in prison, Charles needs to concentrate on how articulate and speak better, country clown.

  146. Dred Sista Ren

    you must be *****ting me.

throughout the years there have been cir*****stances, in which i have taken issue with both Brothers Sharpton & Jackson. however, on the other hand they have done some hellafied things & i must doabale.

as for sir charles, i was a strong supporter & thought he was very underrated. when he was the round mound of rebound @ auburn. however, once he hit the league & picked up special ***** status. an example of special ***** status is when he & jordan played golf with tv crews in tow giving free publicity to countryclubs that did not accept and/or have any Black members.

at least a decade or so ago, he was being courted to run for governor as republican. georgia can make their reluctant free negroes real special. clarence thomas is from pin point.

but, i digress. yet, everytime that he end up in monkey mess. being sued, negative press for on & off the court antics (such as throwing a bar patron out of a window) which was over a white girl that both were trying to pickup and clowning at the clubs. as for tearing the clubs up the aforementioned incident & others including madonna pre-rodman, sitting courtside holding a sign which she was having his baby. were over white women and not his white wife at home. when takened to task about his behavior, he repeatedly, retorted “i’m being persecuted cuz, i’m “Black Man”.

as for playing the race card. this negro ain’t been Black since two days before dirt. he makes me wanna like the great Brothers Chester Himes & Marvin Gaye, throw up both my hands & holler…

    ***** ***** please

  147. Common Sense

Um, Charles may need to learn how to not speak country, but you my friend need to learn reading comprehension. No one in their right mind would argue whitey doesn’t make blacks accountable; he’s talking about blacks making other blacks accountable for their actions.

MistaO, I get you now. Don’t completely agree, but I get you……

  148. MistaO

Oh and for some of you who really didn’t read this article or really know crap about barkley, he wants to be Gov. of his home state of Alabama.

  149. uptowngirl

Thanks Kenny & Miss Thang. I’m not the biggest fan of Jessie and Al but sometime you got to call it like you see it. Everybody want to be PC and pretend like race is some abstract concept that doesn’t affect anything. Yes we as people have to be accountable but don’t try to pretend that we have “overcome” so everything is all good. Don’t believe the hype.

  150. Nita

Common Sense wrote, “Explain why my family members that do teach are frustrated by absent black parents who don’t give a ***** about their children’s education, and want to whine about 2nd chances when life drops the boom on them.”

    – and then you have folks like my sister who have to beg and keep on school administration’s ***** just to keep up with what’s going on with her children, because the administration doesn’t care. she wants to know about their schoolwork, their grades, their *****ignments….. they act like she’s weird for being interested. they don’t treat her seriously.

do you know, that school lost track of her eldest child? god help parents of young black boys. god help parents who are poor. god help parents who are both.

that’s not to say that I don’t disagree with you about parents who don’t give a *****. a lot don’t. i wonder how many would, if they were encouraged to, though. how much help are your family members receiving from their school districts in reaching out to black parents? or are your family members bearing the brunt alone?

@ “College was the first time I was surrounded by Asians, South Asians, and Jews (and to some extent, native Africans), and let me tell you THOSE PEOPLE are hard on themselves. They DEMAND excellence from their children or they consider them failures. We don’t demand *****.”

    – You mean like black folks demanding excellence in sports? heh.

I believe Jews should be excluded from what you’re talking about because a) Jews are rich as a people, and b) Jews have a different history than blacks. They’re unique for being hated because they have money, and learning. They are not hated because they are kept from wealth and kept from learning.

Asians, South Asians and African immigrants… the immigrant experience is different from the native experience. Especially if those immigrants are already well educated in their home lands (India, you know damn well I’m looking at you in particular). But also if those immigrants are the ’special ones’, the cream of the crop of their own native lands. It’s not the same. That’s like tweaking school testing results by encouraging the lesser students to stay home, or even misleading the lesser students and their parents about national and state tests…. like what has been done in my state. Only immigrants are the ’special ones’ who are encouraged to take the tests to make everybody else look good.

Immigrants really are given breaks which are not given to native blacks (and to a very real certain extent, native Indians). They’re ‘not really black’. I wish I could post that like to that New York Times article on what was happening in New Jersey in regards to native blacks and immigrant blacks……. and an unfortunate reason why the latter was being hired much more readily than the former, which had nothing to do with experience or talent or drive. I think you can add illegal mexican and other latin american and south american immigrants to that as well (for everybody reading who subscribes to ‘we’re all brown and therefore all have the same objectives and road to travel’).

But thank you to your family members for entering the teaching profession. I hope none of them burn out. The world needs more good, involved, positive teachers.

And some of you really miss the point others are trying to make.

Yes, Black folk have a lot of “housekeeping” to do concerning our male/female unions, child rearing, education and it goes on. But that being said, we can’t fall into the erroneous thought process that, by default, absolves overall white socitey of it’s undeniable role in the end results of tampering with the Black community.

IE – Institutional racism, for example minimizing access to capital when Blacks are at the table. See studies which showed that on average, Blacks with the same or better credit scores as whites and others, will be denied business and home loans at a rate of 7 to 1.

Criminal sentencing – On average a Black man convicted of a crime will receive maximum punishment often times for offenses white men never see prison for. This also do*****ented by Amnesty Int. See their web site.

Of course the list goes on, but I highlight these only to state that systematically, and in general, white society has proven over and over it’s unmitigated hostility towards Blacks in general and Black men in particular. Thus, surviving let alone thriving in an environment not held true to your best interest is terribly difficult.

Many blacks who have bought wholesale into the medias pumping up of all Black peoples issues are due to us not being accountable. Some yes, most no.

  155. Common Sense

    @Nita,

Your points are well made, and I respect your point of view, but this is the victim and excuse policy that has been holding us back. The school district never did ***** to “reach out” to my parents, they just did their job. Black people can’t expect government institutions (like schools) or white people to help them, because they haven’t ever come through for us, and they never will.

I am well aware of the distinction between the immigrant experience and native black folks, but what does that have to do with the expectations they set for their children vs. what we set for ours? The simple fact is, when a Chinese American kid (not all, but most) gets a C, he gets chastised for it and is embarr*****ed. WE HOWEVER, hold parties for graduation from 6th grade and Junior high. HELLO?!?! Do you see the point. Racism and oppression do not excuse or justify that.

High expectations in sports? With all due respect, I hope you were kidding. Sports have helped 1% of us, while the rest fail with that unrealistic, and frankly stupid pipe dream.

The bottom line is, that because we’ve been so abused and mistreated, and because the door has been shut on us for so long, that we’ve built into our psyche an idea that the door is still shut and that if we, or our children fail,, that we should be easy(ier) on them because hey, ‘we’re black and it’s harder on us.” That has gotten us NOWHERE.

Guess what, the door still isn’t fully open, and may never be fully open for us. But I know it’s open, G-DAMNIT, a black man won the primaries in Iowa, South Dakota, and Utah. So we need to start looking at how open the door now is, and how we can open that MF up further. Our failures lay at our feet only because no one (not the government, not whitey, not other minorities) is going to give us our due, our reparations, or anything else. The only way it is possible for us to ascend is for us to do it. So if we fail, it’s our fault.

    Two questions.

Maybe the sistas can help me with one of them

    1) If you marry/date outside of your race, does that mean you must forfeit your rights as a black man; can you no longer care about black unity and causes? Is Robert DeNiro a fake Italian because he loves the sistas? (can’t blame him)

    2) Do you think that maybe the fact that there are so many black men in prison has a lot to do with their choices and actions? Funny, I never found myself anywhere close to prison growing up. To listen to some of you, you’d think there’s this white boogie man in a big van that drives around grabbing brothers and putting them in jail. The justice system is flawed and few would argue it’s completely fair, but I’ve yet to hear about law abiding, studious black men getting yanked out of cl***** and thrown into prison. If you run with thugs and stay on the street, you’ll get caught in friendly fire, and you might get blamed for ***** you didn’t do……but if you were never there in the first place, it wouldn’t happen.

I agree with Charles, and I don’t want to ***** anyone off and get cussed out, but sometimes, as blacks we bring things on ourselves and then want to use race as the reason something happened to us. For instance at my job there is a black woman who is late for work every single day, comes in and tells the entire (almost white office) about the sexual escapades that she parti*****ted in until 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning and then cry racial discrimination when she gets written up. Well, wake up sista, you are the only person who is late very day and who sits on your cell phone at your desk talking loudly. The thing about it is the white people in our office get written up with a quickness, but because she’s black management tip toed around the whole situation. Now she’s filing a racial discrimination lawsuit and I so hope she loses. Sorry, but no one has discriminated against her. her problems she has brought on herself.

There’s no crime in interacial dating, it’s just hard for me to understand why negros want white women…How in the hell can a brotha sit back and complain about or be understanding to the problems in

in black America with a white woman on you arm…The amazing thing is that black men are and have suffered more do to racism but are the first to date ouside their race…Most not ALL brothas you see with white women have self esteem and idenity issues amongst themselves…If a brotha truly feels the strugle, he shouldn’t even want a white woman after all of the ***** that was and is still being done to you today…After everything we went through during the civil rights movement, how do you marry a white chick and still call yourself a true brotha….Robert DiNiro is an isolated incident, how many Itallians do you see with black women…And Charles is a uncle tom all the way around not just because he married a white woman.

  171. strong black woman

  173. Charles always kickin some real knowledge. He thinks for himself and i like that about him. Nas said something like that in one of his songs. White people have no white leaders so why do we need black leaders to tell us how to think. @Stefany

Wait, so if I want (am married to a black women btw, but have also been in relationships with white women) to date someone who shares my interests, I am physically attracted to, and has a similar level of career success; and I find that person, and they love me, I can’t love them because their great grandfather oppressed me? Please explain to me how that makes sense. It’s hard enough in this *****ed up world to find someone to love and who will love you in spite of all your faults, but now I have to limit myself to matching pigmentation?

I don’t subscribe to that. If you want to marry a sista and want to do so because of a shared experience or background, then good on you, but just because someone is the same shade as me doesn’t make them match. Should a black man who went to Harvard, works as an engineer and enjoys Russian Literature be forced to marry someone who is black and has none of those interests? (please spate me the “he ain’t black routine”)

Better yet, this applies to black women, because the scenario above described your average mid 30’s black women who has achieved so much, yet can’t find a man because she is so loyal to her black man. So while everyone else has a population of 200 million adults, this poor black women who works at Goldman Sachs or IBM can only date other black men who are at that level.

No, people shouldn’t date on cl*****, but you date who you relate to, and no matter what Tyler Perry Movies tell us, a sista who is a Corporate Lawyer has ***** in common with a Garbage man, or vice versa.

So no, I don’t see it as self-esteem problems, because I doubt Halle Berry’s man is dating her because he hates what his white mama looks like.

See they will ignore the statistics affecting MOST of us to harp on the few instances (Black men being jailed when they are supposed to)that we are NOT concerned with. I don’t understand it. We live in a country that only 30 years ago was giving Black women involuntary hysterectomies, birth control as a means of income, and still throwing rocks at school buses of black children trying to attend newly integrated public schools. Records of over the top police brutality geared mostly towards INNOCENT & NOT SO INNOCENT blacks sparked nationwide debate AND THEN action in police departmens via the government. There has been extensive evidence of the CIA planting drugs in Black communities on purpose…the wrongful death lawsuits for blacks are numerous (thank goodness for DNA testing I guess)..and STILL there are Blacks on here excusing these practices and blaming blacks for them by stating that they were in the wrong place at the wrong time and it is their fault? Wow….

I have also witnessed the lack of care for a black boy in school by the faculty. Did anyone notice how the problem ‘our’ boys are having in schools nationwide only became highlighted when white boys started failing too?

Exactly, if you find someone who loves you and you love them ***** what people think (I’m not in an interracial relationship by the way). People should worry about their own *****ed up relationships instead of trying to worry about what someone sees in someone else. I believe if you are confident in yourself and happy with your own life, you won’t care what the hell someone else is doing. Its insecure people who got a problem and set boundaries for what is accepted for what other people do and most times they are in the most *****ed up relationships themselves.

My grandma used to say love will go up a pigs ***** if its sent there. Never knew what it meant, but I think its you can’t help who you fall in love with. You also shouldn’t give a damn what the world thinks of it either.

  187. Common Sense

    @ Miss Thang,

I don’t think anyone here is debating the history of black oppression in this country. But detailing all the offences against us serves one purpose, to console us when we fail. So it that your goal? To make sure black self-esteem isn’t hurt by the obvious short-comings our achievements?

    Will that help us ascend?

You listed a litany of oppression just now, and you know, it highlights even more how impressive the achievements are of those who made it through those times. Black youth today have it way better than anyone before them, yet we still make excuses for them. If Stanley O’Neal can come out of a little poor Alabama country town with a broken home (in the 50’s and 60’s) and go to Harvard and then become CEO of Merrill Lynch, well then, the white oppression plan ain’t working as well as they hoped; and why the hell aren’t we studying what he and his family did instead of just calling it a “exception’ that we can’t rely on.

Answer this: What’s the surest path to success for Blacks, calling out white oppression and expecting restitution and justice, or putting the onus on ourselves and figuring out how we can pimp the system and make it happen for us?

I really don’t see how me calling you dishonest was the same as the bashing of Black women I see going on here and in the media. BTW, I said BLACK FEMALE CELEBRITIES…

A hahahaha that made my day. Bout time someone called out those two ignorant fools!

MissThang, just another bitter sister mad at a black man who doesn’t want her ghetto *****. How’s that for a comment?

  197. miss thang

Common Sense I beg to differ…the advantage blacks BEFORE us had was that they could see the devil and his works. When you have those in power sneaking around (FBI, CIA, ATF, POLICE) in our neighborhoods and hiding their wrong doings we will fail without ever knowing why. Like being told back in the day that you weren’t getting hired because you are Black is different than being told you are not getting hired for a different reason when the REAL reason is because you are Black. The struggle is there it is just harder to identify because public racism is frowned upon by a few….

Now if I understand you correctly..me pointing out the unfortunate racist practices that have helped to hold many Black people back is really what is holding them back? I don’t think so…that is the equivalent of telling rape victims that it was their rape was their own fault for walking to the store, seeking guidance from a priest or staying late after school…

  198. Common sese…. believe me i see where you are coming from, blacks have done bad things to whites and i dont want to be judgeed by what blacks do , just like i dont think they want to be judged for what they do… but you know and i know whites have done way more horrendous crimes of hate against blacks then the other way around, look at church bombings killing all those black kids, look at the man that was dragged by a truck to death in alabama, and lets dont even talk about how many of our ancesters lost their lives by beatings , hangings and castrating and rapeing and so on, plus lets dont even go into what they did to Emmett Till the boy that was killed in 1955 in Money Mississippi for so called whistling at a white woman. He was tortured so bad , throat slashed and messed up they couldnt even show his body. I wont go on and on but i am not judging white folks who didnt do it only the ones that did…… so dont get it twisted b/c i dont want to be judged by what other blacks do, but alot of times i am, like i cant go into a white store without being looked at like i steal and i dont, a lot of times i feel i am being watched and i dont appreciate it, dont watch me watch the real criminals and they come in all colors, and boy can i tell you some racist stories that go way back and it has all been racism against blacks. I feel white people hate blacks just b/c of a skin color and i dont feel blacks hate b/c of skin color , i feel blacks hate b/c of what has been done to them and for the reasons it was done. (skin color)… so why do they tan if they hate brown skin?????????????????

  199. Yadadamean?

  203. Common Sense

    Miss Thang,

I don’t see myself like Rape victim. There’s that word again…victim. If it makes you feel better at night to think the white devil is the reason for your failures (not saying that is the case) then so be it. But no one ever made a success of themselves by identifying themselves as a victim. That damn word (like my post said above) is so deep in our psyche, that it’s going to take generations to purge it.

If whitey’s whole goal is to keep us down, then who have so many succeeded? Explain the rise of Obama? Is whitey sleepin on the job?

Son, I know you got all D’s, and I know you hang out with drug dealers. I know you can’t get a job because you have tattoos on your neck and look like a criminal. But you see, you’re a victim, so don’t feel bad. We were destined to lose, because they’ve been holding us back for years. It’s not your fault, you’re like a rape victim. It’s not your fault, you couldn’t have ever made it anyway.

Oh, those knee grows at Ivy League schools and Law Firms? They’re not really black and they got there by doing whitey’s work. You kept it real and black, and they made you a victim for it.

  204. STEFANY

THANK YOU CUTIE PIE & MISS THANG!

“I wonder if this will still be your attitude the minute the white mans about to string you up by the ***** over some legal *****!! ”

This kinda ***** wont happend because of knowledge. I have a degree, a pretty cool job and a maketing firm on the side. And at the same time I help my friends and family and people in need of work get on and get money like me. I live rightous and always try to do the right thing. And I stay out of the streets and from around bad company. You are a *****in follower. Start thinkin for yourself and stop waiting for someone to tell you what to do. Al Sharpton goes too far sometimes and you know it. Racism still exists. I know that. But Al Sharpton AKA Rev. Rilo Goodluv is not the answer. If i was to get in some ***** i know how to get a lawyer and do what i have to do to get out the *****. The same ***** Al would ask your stupid’***** for a donation to do, I already know. I handle my business and you sound like the type of person that dont. Start taking initiative and handle your own *****. And try to listen when somebody tellin you some *****. Just think about the message sometime and if there is a possibility that the message could be right. I am not tryin to talk down on you but just give you something to think about.

  206. SMDH

“Exactly, if you find someone who loves you and you love them ***** what people think (I’m not in an interracial relationship by the way). People should worry about their own *****ed up relationships instead of trying to worry about what someone sees in someone else”

LOL – you sorry ***** *****ing coons will defend your right to turn your back on your own race until the very end!!! How many other races – aside from blacks – will argue the right to run off to other race?!? Oh thats right – they don’t need ot because they take pride in their own.. Its only our race that will take pride in others before ourselves..

  207. miss thang

Common Sense…since when is education a bad thing. There are many Black people who are not aware of the things I mentioned and just think Black people are too dumb and lazy too succeed and just choose to give up hope. They don’t see a purpose in fighting for equality and setting up their own road to independance instead of looking to people who really don’t want to see them succeed.

Yes…you may hate the word victim but it is what it is bro. I mean how else would you describe a person who was molested/raped? Would you rather me refer to them as a rape attendee?

Thats what you all don’t get…I hate to say it but some of you are just arrogant. Not every Black person is aware of their true history and what they are capable of because they are bombarded daily with only negative images of themselves and then told that things are the way they are just by virtue of their race…that is it. They are taught that slavery was bad but has been over for centuries so get over it. It is up to us who know the real deal to help educate them. So it helps us how to know that we are victims? Seems to me it only serves to soften the blow when we fall. You can’t go into a fight thinking you’re the victim and win.

That word’s only good for excusing our failures. Funny though, why have the others made it? Did my parents make a deal with whitey that I will only learn about once I turn 40 and sign the house negro pledge? Or did we realize that although America ain’t fair (and F-no, it ain’t), it’s got the wealthiest population of African people in the world (FACT) and that if you want to work hard, stay away from negative people, and abide by the law, you can have a decent life. I never heard these victim negro stories, all I heard was “you’re expected to succeed and failure will not be excused.” Of course, I lived in Disney Land, with all the other successful sellout negros….Silly me

  227. Common Sense

Nowhere did I say that Obama means racism is over, in fact, I said it means the opposite. But let’s not act like the reason black youth don’t succeed because the media doesn’t let them know that they can be successful and that they’ve been oppressed. Puuullleease.

Obama serves to show that if you are held to a high standard, even a single white devil mama can successfully raise you into an good successful person. In stead of focusing on reasons why “I can’t,” how bout figuring out “how can I” and then thinking “Holy *****, I can.”

That starts with accountability. Accountability means, you got arrested because you f-ed up. It doesn’t mean. Yeah, you got arrested, but the system isn’t fair. Your ancestors were slaves, and institutional racism has worked against you for centuries. You had no choice but to sell rocks and shoot that BLACK MAN in the face. Oh, and your violence against YOUR BROTHERS, that’s because you’ve been taught to hate yourself. So again, not your fault. You and your people are victims. Now you are educated and know the history. Now you will feel better while you are in jail and your baby mama raises your seed alone, because hey. You’re a victim brotha…..

  228. Hey we all know white folks judge us way more then we do them. How mant times have you walked behind a white person and see how many times he looks back at you like you want something from hi, How many times have white folks said “oh those black rappers are all thugs and gang bangers and we all know they turn around and copy , but if i juwere to be fair then after that post on bossip of the ole white women going to africa to have sex with young black african boys…. should i look at all ole white ladies like they have just came bcak from sexing african boys … is that fair or not?y thing is dont judge me id you dont want to judged… dont say the n word if i cant call you a honkey or a cracker, or a redneck, puerto ricans too, dont say ***** , i dont give a damn how you think you are down in the hood, if i cant call you a spic or a wetback, whats fair is fair… call me i call you dont just leave it at the n word… lets put up all the derogatory words and you white folks have a few too.

    I agree Common Sense,

Every time a brotha gets arrested it’s NOT because of racism, and YES we sometimes do bring bad things on ourselves…But when the goverment puts a bunch of poor, uneducated, unitelligent, angry people in a cage that he calls public housing, projects or ghettos with a *****ty education system, no social or mental health services, a gun a liquor store on every block, that’s the result…Negros kill, steal and sell drugs…Proverty and lack of education breeds violence, drugs, crime and all kind of other things…Look at Bush dumb *****, he’s cut the education budget while pumping billions into a war that’s putting our country into a recession….There is a certain psychology and mind state that goes along with being poor…And this system was designed for our failure believe it or not.

    Barak Obama is an Integrationalist.

Integrationalists, by nature, are very intelligent individuals. Exceptionally intelligent, very often, ‘magnetic’. The very fact of his being an Integrationalists trumps prejudicial, individual viewpoints: Integrationalists desire to achieve the best, overall results for the m*****es.

Integrationalists display ‘transcendent’ particularities in thei persona…

Oprah Winfrey & Colin Powell are also Integrationalists…

  242. All people have to be responsible for their actions and be held accountable. However, the criminal justice system reflects a large divide amongst races. This is in part due to drugs in urban communities, but also related to poor legal representation. It is not a good feeling to have 3-5 years hanging over your head and you walk in to meet your court appointed attorney fifteen minutes before going before the judge. Do you think the attorney getting paid $150 by the state really cares what happens?? With that said, a crime still has to be committed before reaching that point, but I think you all will get my rationale

That is the key…MOST (thank God your parents and mine taught us better) don’t even realize the actual power they possess. They are victims of IGNORANCE. Our grand positive history is not even in high school history books. It is up to us to educate, demand, and talk about all of this every chance we have. More knowledge is being lost with each generation and it shows….talk about the good as well as the bad.

    Miss thang,

My high school had the following black history lesson:

    1) We were slaves

    2) George Washington Carver and Peanuts

    3) MLK, MLK,

    THE END.

My black history was seeing the success of those around me who demanded my success. I understand your point of view in that you should uplift, but praise must be earned. That “uplift our children” philosophy is the same ***** that makes blacks have parties for 6th grade graduation and act like graduating HS is a major achievement. You MUST EARN YOUR PRAISE. Otherwise, you create low expectations.

There’s a term called the “racism of low expectations” that challenges affirmative action and welfare dependency. I am FOR affirmative action still because I aknowledge the racism that has shaped our situation and still does. However, that term is very true and powerful in looking at the way many good intentioned white liberals look at us and how many of use look at ourselves. WE SHOULD be holding our children up against the Chinese and Indian immigrant children, no matter how much harder it is/was for us. We are letting ourselves down and basically acknowledging that white supremacy is right when we don’t expect our children to perform as well as their white, asian, and native African counterparts.

Black skin is not a curse or an excuse for failure. There are white supremacists who want us to buy into that notion, who want us to embrace the idea that we need special help from the government because it plays into what they believe, that we can’t do it as well.

My parents and grandparents were told, “you’re black, so you have to be twice as good to succeed.”

How the hell did that become, ‘you’re black, so if you don’t succeed, or if you mess up, we understand, you’ve had it rough.”

  253. miss thang

it’s a matter of interpretation.. in a society where education may not be viewed as a ‘way out’ we should encourage and praise those who still go that route. 255. Common Sense

Miss Thang, (whose opinion I respect and whose civility and thoughtfulness is appreciated),

Speak to someone who played college or professional sports. Ask them if the coach ever said, “we want to win this game real bad, and your going to have to work hard to do so, but just let me tell you, every time we’ve come to this gym, they cheat us. They cheated every year and let me tell you, it will be hard cause they’ll cheat tonight. So if you lose, it probably will be because they cheated.”

No coach would ever tell his team that EVEN if it was true. It’s because you NEVER motivate someone by telling them that it’s usually not a fair fight and they should know that the other team has cheated before.

That instills a sense of defeat before the battle is even fought. You want people to be focused on what they have to do to achieve and make sure they have the discipline to achieve it, THAT is what makes them believe they can achieve. The fact that they know they have worked hard and to the best of their ability and that they have seen other teams before them win in that gym because they worked hard and did the necessary things to succeed. They will go into the game believing in their success because it’s expected and no one told them why they couldn’t.

As a Black person, when I’m addressing our issues, I say “WE, as Black people…” or “in OUR communities…” because though I may not like some things that go on in our communities/culture, I will never try to seperate myself from my race & speak about it like I’m not a member or as if I don’t belong to it. No one will take my pride out of being a Black person. If a White person had made this comment, the racist undertones he’s using would be more evident to some of you all. Just read his quote & picture if a White was saying this exact comment, you would immediately say it was a racist comment. You would be offended, and we should be just as offended by Charles making them, because he means it in the same way a White racist would. Just cause his skin is Black, doesn’t mean a thing.

    COMMON SENSE:

I hate wenn articulate and seemingly educated blacks have this view that all blacks do is make excuses. We have the highest hiv infection rates, highest infant mortallity rate, highest lung cancer (death) rates, highest inprisonment rates, highest hypertension rates, shortest life span and highest unemployment rates in America. The biggest trick the devil ever played was making people think he does’nt exist. Just because opression isnt so obvious doesnt mean it doesnt exist. You should know that.

Also, Im black and i’m not against interracial relationships. I have many many white friends and trust me white girls that mess with black men are looked down on seriously in the white community. U think black women give it to us hard for dating white girls they go through hell? Not only that, they seem to see us as sub-human.

    *********************************************

KENNY YOU ARE SO INTELLIGENT, I LOVE YOUR POINT OF VIEW, YOU HAVE BEEN SO ON POINT WITH EVERYTHING THAT YOU HAVE STATED TODAY….I DON’T KNOW WHERE SOME OF THESE DISILLUSIONED NEGROS COME FROM.

  260. Common Sense

    Kenny and Stefany,

No one would doubt that those problems you listed exist, but some of us differ on who we expect to fix those problems and the usefulness of telling ourselves “it’s not our fault”

  261. Common Sense

    Stefany,

I think if you were to google the definition of “disillusioned,” you’d find that you and kenny are much more “disillusioned.” But I am going to *****ume you meant “delusional negros.” If that’s the case, as you saw above, we live in Disney Land, where every black man can make it if he tries…….

  262. Stefany….. You are so right, if you want to see racism, listen to what those white folks say about the black man thats dates their white daugther, its so ugly and hateful you want to slap the hell out of them! So dont think black woman give hell you should be a fly on the wall in that white household and you will really hear some bad racist talk about the black man, and the black woman but honey i aint trying to date them> I see no pleasure in dating a person who has loked down on me in the past, plus our cultures have too much differences for me to be changing.. I would always be thinking in the back of my mind ” how come you like me now and you hated me back then , but then again thats just me! plus my mama said ‘if she cant use your comb dont bring her home” tee hee!~~~~~~~~~~~

  263. meleemel

I agree with Barkley!! We need to start holding each other accountable.

  264. I feel we as black folks need to stick together and stop putting others ahead of your own, believe you me they dont put you ahead of them and they sure as hell stick together. They will talk about you as a black person, but dont want you to talk about them and i have seen that coming from women who date blck men, they will use the word ghetto and even think they can say the n word… but lord have mercy if you say honkey or somsthing negative about them.you know its true!

  265. My best girlfriend dated a white guy and he climed to love him some black women, he says ” i like my coffee black no cream” and she said he always talked bad about black men mainly, but as soon as she had something to say about a white person he said “you are a racist. so needless to say she hurried up and gpt out of that relationship. and remember i shook my family tree and im still jumping out of the way fromm all those white folks that fell out of it.

Thanks Charles. But now back to Charles he sure is right but Charles Barkely’ wife looks like “trailer Trash” I saw her a few years ago it looks like he got her from the GUTTER

  272. nahnah

UMMMMMMMMMMM, the term ‘race card’ is simply a deterrance and nothing else. The fact is black people cannot point out racism without being accused of ‘playing the race card’. If it’s racism, why can’t we call it like it is?

Charles Barkley has always been a numbnut, just look at his past comments.

But what he meant to say is that he doesn’t want Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to mess up his chance with white people since he worship them so much.

Also, I don’t think Barkley should be picky about who he want to support him because I doubt his dumb ***** will be getting much support any way.

Call it the ‘playing the race card’ or whatever you please, if it’s racism, it’s racism.

Just notice the vast majority of white people want us to believe racism is a figment of the negro imagination, and they try to shut us every chance they get.

Lastly, while I’m not a huge fan of Jesse and Al, I must say the media has given them a really bad reputation – as an attempt to tarnish their image.

Sorry, but if I get ruffed up by a cop in NYC or any place else, I’m contacting them. ***** Charles Barkley. He’s a slave.

  273. BITTER

Thank you Mr. Barkley. I thought it was just me. And Jesse and Al have pretty much tarnished their own reputations IMO, with Al’s grandstanding and lying, and Jesse’s womanizing.

  274. Kompton's Kutie

Race card or not. He’s running for Governor of Alabama..big boy better have alot more than a race card and more than Black folks behind him.

Every presidential election the state is always Republican votes overall….N he’s running for Governor? Good Luck Chuck!

  275. b

Nanah is it. He is not saying that racism does not exist no one is saying that. What he is saying is that for some of the things in our communities like 98.999% is our fault and we have to take responsibility for it. A racist person now does not have to do anything to destroy our race because we have that on lock down. Just take a look at most of our communities. Most of our communities do not have to be the way they are. We can start by taking pride where we live regardless of where it is and keep the streets and buildings clean. That is what I believe he is talking about. Take responsibility for yourself and your community.

  276. BITTER

And whoever called Barkley a Tom has no *****ing clue as to what they are talking about…..he’s been hard on white people too, and has said in the press more than once about how racist white folks, Americans in particular, can be.

  277. nahnah

We as black people have the ultimate right to speak against issues that affect us as people. And since racism affect us on a daily basis, I will continue to ‘play the race card’.

I don’t know about you guys, but I will not stop speaking out against racism simply because many white people are uncomfortable with reality.

Black people ALL OVER THE WORLD are victims of racism, therefore we have the utmost right to recognize our enemies.

But like everything else, how do we fix the problems if we’re going to pretend as if it doesn’t exist just to please other people who refuse to accept reality? Acknowledging that racism exist is not the problem, it’s how you handle racism. In other words, rising above it is the answer.

    Oh, and ***** Charles Barkley.

I don’t ‘agree’ with him because he’s always been a sheepish slave. He needs to stick to pleasing his masters.

  278. Shawn08

    @Common Sense

I am reading your posts and notice you are generalizing a bunch on so many levels. Secondly, there are no black leaders, and should not be any. We do not need a black savior; WE HAVE GOD! Pray on it.

I agree we should stop blaming the White man for everything that happens to us. I also believe the oppressed are not oppressed because we don’t like education, are lazy, and never want to accomplish anything in life. Life is never as simple as get off your back and make it happen. You go through so many trials and tribulations that sometimes you feel overwhelmed.

Another thing, it is sad that so many black men want white women. I see it all the time. The reasons for dating white women truly enrage me at times. I do understand black men that just fall in love with white women. What I don’t understand is why black men who date outside their race find it necessary to put their black women down???? It is baffling to me how any black man could ever put down a black woman. First off, black women carried their men when no one else wanted you. Stood by your side. Raised children for you. And comforted you when the white man put you down. And this is the thanks we get??? Black men are running to white women at alarming rates, and forgetting the Queens that stood by them, and had their backs through centuries of time. Wake up black men… Wake up!!! Don’t leave your black queens just because you think they are more pleasing to the eye. They’re only more pleasing to the eye because TV programmed you to think that way! Find the beauty in your black women, and come home like your grandfathers did!!!

  279. SickandTired.

Charles is right. Too many of us have settled for the nastiest levels of behavior, then, when we don’t succeed in life, we blame white people.

White people don’t make us have unprotected sex. White people don’t make us have multiple sex partners simultaneously. They don’t make get pregnant as teenagers, or, as unmarried adults.

White people don’t hold the crack pipe to our mouth. Hell they don’t even make us sell drugs.

Some black people engage in self-damaging behavior, without thought about the consequences. Then, when they wake up and realize their mistakes and it lifetime damage, white people are to blame.

Some of us have used racism to justify living an unrighteous life. We only damage ourselves with these nasty behaviors. We destroy our families for generations. We are to blame for not arriving to work on time. We are to blame for not studying long enough for that exam we failed.

Charles is right. Some of us need to take responsiblilty for our individual behavior. We are to blame for the disrepair of our own lives.

White people can and do hate us, but, they don’t control our minds. They don’t control the choices we make. We do, and it’s time we start behaving as rational, logical human beings; and stop affirming the doctrine that the KKK has long spewed about us.

  280. nahnah

    b…

Are you claiming that poverty and everything else that is prevalant in the black community is self inflicted? If that’s your argument, then you’re basically saying that black people are inferior, since we have a lot of ***** going on in our communities.

Black people have gone through some *****, so to dismiss them as if they don’t have a long term impact on us as a people is to deem yourself pretty ignorant.

There’s nothing wrong with recognizing that we as a people are victims, but the problem is wallowing in victimhood.

Please, don’t forget covert systematic/institutionalized racism only became illegal about 40 years ago – in other words, 4 decades ago – and even so, we’re doing HELLA good for a people who’s suffered tremendously in this country and abroad.

Just don’t expect centuries of institutionalized subjugation to be corrected in only a few decades.

  281. nahnah

    Sickandtired:

White people can and do hate us, but, they don’t control our minds. They don’t control the choices we make. We do, and it’s time we start behaving as rational, logical human beings; and stop affirming the doctrine that the KKK has long spewed about us.

    ______________________________________

Sweetheart, if the minds of the average WHITE person is controlled, what makes you think the average black person’s mind isn’t controlled by filth?

But, of course, the best way to control a people is to make them think they’re free.

While we have the Jay Z’s and the Dr. Dre’s on the frontline, polluting our young’s minds with garbage, who do you think are controlling them?

Do you not see how white people love Soldier Boy’s ignorant *****?

Do you not see how white people love Snoop’s coonish *****?

Yeah, that’s because they pay them to keep us ignorant and illiterate. They don’t have to use physical force to to keep us enslaved, as they now do it by way of television and other mediums.

If the white media can trea their blonde princess, Britney Spears, in such a vile and nasty way, what makes you think they give a ***** about us?

Even myself who work extra hard on a daily basis to break the chains of pyschological slavery is still enslaved to a degree.

And people, for the most part, react to their environment. Unwed mothers and irresponsible sexual behaviors will most likely be found in places where people lack social skills and an overall education due to poverty. The fact is, poverty stricken neighborhoods, regardless of the ethnic background of the people who occupy them, will be basically the same.

    High rate of unwed mothers.

    High rate of teen pregnancy

    High rate of crime.

High rate of just about anything…

I agree, we need to rise above our problems, but we must not pretend as if they don’t exist. Because I cannot fix a problem if I don’t acknowledge it. With that said, Charles Barkely has always been full of *****.

  282. Jessica-keeping it real

Messy Jesse is right! I will never forget when he came out against Clinton who he was supposed to be really good friends with and lashed out at him for his behavior with Monica. Then what came out, he had a baby with a woman who was old enough to be his daughter and he tried to pay her off to leave him alone and he didn’t want nothing to do with that child. I was like here he is preaching to us and all this stuff and then he’s going to do something as triffling as that. There is so much dirty laundry in his closet it’s not even funny. And let’s not talk about Al and Tawana Brawley. He payed that girl to say that the police were the ones to rough her up and then they caught him on camera! I have no doubt that something did happen to that girl and her case was loss because of his ignorance. So is Charles wrong for not wanting his name *****ociated with those two- you decide.

The notion that Jesse and Al only play the race card is BULL*****.

Jesse has been to just about every anti war demonstration that existed in NYC, which had nothing to do with race.

Jesse and Al were one of the FEW to tell Clinton and Obama to stop with that race bull***** and stop being so divisive in order to beat the Republicans.

Al Sharpton had lend his support to Terry Schiavo.

Jesse Jackson visited the Schiavo family before the woman was put to death.

Sharpton marched for homosexual rights several times.

Sharpton speaks out on police brutality, REGARDLESS of color.

When innocent black men are murdered by racist, trigger happy cops, who’s going to stand by their side? Who else with a voice will help bring light to such injustice?

When Abner Louima got the broom stuck up his behind, who stood up for him?

Granted, black people have a lot of issues that we need to take care of. And the services of the two are very limited, HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean that what they provide isn’t needed.

Yes, I believe we should all be able to govern ourselves, but every successful movement had a great leader who led. That’s an indisputable fact.

  286. Aoki Lee

    @ Vino-

How the hell can you say a black persons mentioning how white women smell like “Wet dog” is the kind of “institutional racism that will be the end of us all” when you have idiots like ‘HUH’ spewing the anti-black rhetoric below????

huh? said: “Sick of *****ing *****s always wanting a free ride! Damn straight they should be held accountable. But it won’t happen. There are too many white ***** ***** kissers and ***** lovers!”

    ————————-

When wite donkey *****ed *****s like ‘HUH’ have nerve to take off from their welfare receiving soap opera watching finger-*****ing their cousins in the back of their dirty trailers to type moronic ***** like this it makes me angry!!

  287. Ghost

Charles does make some valid points. Jesse and Al do scream race card a lot, however that does not devalue what they have done in the past.

10% of our race knows most of the issues in the black community are our own doing. It’s the 90% that think it’s all the white man’s fault and enforce those stereotypes about us.

You wonder why so many of our black men are in jail and get longer jail terms? Ask these questions-

    1) how many times have the brother been locked up as a minor? I know a boy that has been locked up 25 times and he’s only 12.

    2) Who is he hanging out with? Remember the term “guilty by *****ociation”. Does he have the backbone to say no to his friends? I know a boy who had a FULL PAID SCHOLARSHIP & starting spot at Florida State (it was a done deal). He is should be a Senior in college this year. He is now in his 4th year of a 25 year sentence for stealing a car with a child in it. Another boy beat up another one with his friends (got a FELONY charge)-so instead of going to Iowa State on paid scholarship, he’s at Devry and spends free time posting photos on my*****e.

    3) Did he do jail time for a family member? You will be amazed at how drugs/guns can get “placed” on a child when cops pop up.

    4) Does he follow his boys? At my school I had boys get into a fight that DIDN’T concern them. They got their butts kicked four times (they kept going back to fight) and 2 got free trips to the hospital. You hang around with losers and you will suffer.

Schools-We want to yell racism, but no one wants to look beyond the surface.

    1) Does your child come to school?

    2) Do they do work or have you (the parent) told your child to be stupid and refuse to do work. And yes this has happen many times.

    3) Schools do make it easy for parents to check on their kids. You just have to GO to the school and set up appointments. We as black folk don’t. We don’t want to follow the laws, we go to the schools to fight and curse out the teachers. We don’t let our kids go to tutoring or ask for help.

    4) If your child is 18 years old in the 9th grade who fault is that?

    5) same as 4 but with the 18 in the 7th grade.

    6) White folks are hoarding money from black run schools. As we have discovered in Dallas, the biggest crooks were black.

I’m tired of hearing how the white man has us down. We are all held accountable for what we do in some form or another.

You do have a mind and don’t have to do drugs or anything illegal.

You don’t have to make kids for welfare checks.

Just because there is a d*ck or a p****y doesn’t mean you have to f**k it. AIDS and children being born out of wedlock is real.

We need to teach ourselvs not everything needs to be posted on my*****e and youtube.

Our Sisters need to realize there is nothing wrong with the Nick Cannon/Romeo/Taye Diggs/Urkel or any other educated brother with a job. Big D*ick Tyrone might be good in bed, but if he can’t pay your bills or stay out of jail what good is he?

REMEMBER when Kanye West publically stated the truth, which is that Bush doesn’t care about poor people and black people?

NOTICE how so many white people hated him for speaking the TRUTH?

NOTICE how so many white people accused him of ‘playing the race card’ and accusing him of being a ‘race baiter’ for speaking the TRUTH.?

NOTICE how no one can speak about racism without being labeled as a ‘race baiter’?

The race baiters are the ones who practice racism, not the one who attack them.

What does that have to do with the fact that courts all across America are breaking the law and treating juveniles as adults? They could’ve committed thousands of crimes, they MUST be tried accordingly.

I don’t know where you’re from, but here – even criminals have rights. And all juveniles, regardless of race, should be treated as such.

Regardless, I don’t know anybody who claimed they didn’t committ any crimes. I think people steppted up to the fact that they were unfairly treated in the ‘justice’ system – as is minorities all over the country.

Wow @ Ghost, you’ve just about covered it all. As an employee for the school district where I live, you have covered most of the issues that I see on a daily basis, which makes me so sad as an educated black woman. Another thing to add to it is that the club is full on Saturday night with people of color and can’t get them to go to church and give God His due service, but we holler about being broke, busted and disgusted all of the time. Do I agree with EVERYTHING Mr. Sharpton or Mr. Jackson says, no, but they have been an integral part of propelling the black community towards fairness in our “United” States justice system.

The issue with the Jena 6 was the neese hanging from the tree, and un-equal punishment. It was understood from the beginning that they were not against punishment. Barkley is afread that they may have came out in support of him,so he has tried to prevent their parti*****tion. Barkley will see where he stands when he run and lose, with or without their support. I cannot condem these brothers who fought for our freedom when Barkley or many of the contributors were no where around.

I must admit that I think they are fake leaders too but Sir Charles is speaking about “blacks” like he isn’t one of US. Anyway, they pretty much do hold “blacks” accountable for trivial things like Hip Hop but they don’t really hold “Whites” accountable when it comes to people like KKKramer or Imus. They like publicity more than anything. But Charles must think he’s really White because he dates White women, at least Bill Cosby acknowledges that he is part of the Black community when he makes his comments that are most times true.

  324. Ripped…. thanks for answering my post, I posted a picture on mto, not long ago, but i have to take another, i dont want to go on about looks b/c then i would be accused of bragging, but anyway, the man i have now is Jamaican, been with him almost ten years and im sorry but thats how i feel about dating whites, thats mt priviledge and it doesnt make me a bad person, the ancestor issue, and i know it was in the past but a lot of the past reflects the future and i would probably be able to put it aside if it still didnt exist today! I know and you know it exist today and sometimes even more openly than yesterdays. (nooses and crosses are still being burned in some neighborhoods. Not trying to funny but i am no Sylvia Browne but sometimes i see racism in a lot of white folks when they are approaching me. I understand your views and im sure you respect mine, but truth be told i would never date a white person, call me a racist if you want but it is what it is!

Oh my goodness! I did not realize that most of you are the epitome of the long lasting effects of the “Willie Lynch Syndrome”. I don’t care about Charles Barkley or his dating of whatever nationality of woman he chooses. However, why was it necessary to bring up Rev. Al Sharpton or Rev. Jesse Jackson in the conversation. It’s a shame that most of you feel so “delivered” until the attack is on you or your loved ones. I do not agree with every issue that Rev. Sharpton or Rev. Jackson supports but I still respect that they have the courage and mental fortitude to fight on behalf of African Americans that are victimized in America. And yes I said victimized because that’s what it is. I think some of you are so confused it would take a lifetime to reverse your conditioned mindset. Most of you state, I don’t need *****ody to speak for me, Messy Jesse needs to take care of his illegitimate kids, or Al Sharpton needs to cut his hair, etc. Yeah, until you are the victim and do not have the financial means to obtain adequate legal representation and then you will see how biased the American Criminal Justice System really is for African Americans. Most of us in America, not just African Americans, are one paycheck from being HOMELESS. Also, please let’s stop announcing that Education is the key and once we’re all educated, everything will be different for us in America. Yes, education is ONE of the solutions for some of the issues in our community but it will not reverse racism. Sorry! Many of us have obtained Master, Bachelors, Juris Doctorate degrees and racism is still rampant. Even for us “Educated” African Americans. We are also informed of the accomplishments of Kenneth Chenault, Stanley O’Neal, Richard Parsons, Ann Fudge, Clarence Otis, Deborah Wright and other African Americans that have excelled in the corporate community. However, if you look at our history, we have ALWAYS contributed to the advancement and prosperity of America, regardless of our conditions (Benjamin Banneker, Garrett Morgan, Charles Drew, Maggie Lena Walker, George Washington Carver). Therefore, our problem is not just education and accountability. Such as many of the online posters do*****ented, we are held accountable for our actions, most of the time overly accountable. I did not state that to say that we should dismiss being accountable for our actions in our homes and community. We should be responsible for promoting positive growth in our families and communities. What I have not heard from most of you as a solution is UNITY. We feel no level of responsibility for our race. Everything is about me and mine. Many of us did not support Barack Obama until you realized that other nationalities were admiring him as a political force and he won Iowa and we jumped on the bandwagon. We don’t support black businesses, we don’t mentor African American children, we volunteer in our communities, and we don’t adopt or care for foster children, and we even have the audacity to criticize the only people I see that fight on your behalf (whether you ask them to or not). I’m not talking about the drop outs or undereducated that may not engage in this type of conversation. I’m speaking in reference to you working middle-cl***** African Americans that spew negativity online daily and have no appreciation for the individuals that fought on your behalf to go to the 9 to 5 job that you go to religiously. That has become the extent of your contribution to your race.

“Sometimes the race card is needed but not in every situation.”

What the heck does THAT mean? Who gets to determine when the race card is needed – Charles?!!! This guy makes a comment without any context, any explanation…at least he should provide an example of when teh race card should’ve been used and when it shouldn’t have been used, or an example in which Sharpton & Jackson improperly used the race card.

Anyone on this board that cannot see the apparent injustice of the Jena situation is both blind AND dumb. It is WRONG to prosecute black teens for a crime and not prosecute white teens for the same crime! How is that playing the race card? how si that fair? Whether one of the kids did something today is immaterial; the prosecutor should NOT have prosecuted those black teens for fighting if he wasn’t gonna prosecute the white teens for ALSO fighting.

Cutie Pie, I know it still exists, my point is its on both sides. We are just as racist as whites are. Sounds like you have a great relationship. I’m happy for you, and always appreciate your point of view. You are right, you are entitled to your feelings. I hope all racism ends one day. I hate to see kids hurt by it.

another thing that was funny to me is that when someone said something about Maya Angelou a while ago, all hell broke out on this blog. How come no one talked ***** about Saint Maya Angelou only being married to white men? Its okay when black women do it, but we dog the ***** out of white women who date a black man.

  329. Ripped… I always love your views and i never teach my child to be racist, I feel a lot of blacks are racist b/c of what was done to them first and only b/c of their skin color. You know and i know that whites are more racist than blacks. One question Ripped… “Does that make me a racist b/c i choose not to date white men” please answer that with sincerity, b/c i never do racist things to whites and i never judge them before i get to know them , i can have a white man as a friend, but am i wrong not to want to date them, is that racist? please answer me back with your opinion! thanks!

  330. rachel still sweet 25th/2008

@ ripped shut up your post is stupid, black women are not going out in droves to date white men , which is exactly what white women and black men are doing that is the problem. Not the fact that ONE BLACK PERSON MAY DATE ANOTHER WHITE PERSON. Just when it becomes an epidemic like we have now with black men and white women. Charles barkley hates black women …black people in general he has made that very clear in many tv show and articles. He has to please his white ho wife when he goes home every night and other white people he kiss ***** too on a regular. Any black person in thier right mind would be crazy to vote for him.

  331. ripped

rachel I appreciate your opinion, even though you didn’t have to be so rude giving it. I don’t know much about Charles Barkley, I think its sad if he does hate black women, I think its sad when anyone hates a whole race of people. I like to date people for who they are not the color of their skin.

Cutie Pie, no I don’t think you are racist because you don’t date white men. Maybe you are just not attracted to them. I just think its wrong to hate people because of their race and I think if someone else wants to date outside their race then its their business and the rest of the world shouldn’t care. But if you choose not to, no, that doesn’t make you racist, in my humble opinion. I always appreciate your input and I’m glad to hear you wouldn’t teach your child to be racist.

  332. @ Ripped, I agree with cutie pie, I dont date out of my race either and i only hate white folks when they bring hatred to me, which is very often. They are the ones who teach their kids to be racist and i agree with cutie the only time they dont act racist is when a white woman dates interracially!
