Serv-On

Former No Limit Soldier, Serv-On, has written a book called “Inside the Mind of Brothas: A Young Black Man’s Guide for Black Women Trying to Survive the Dating Game in Today’s Hip-Hop Generation”:

“Seventy percent of the time, Black Women’s hearts get broken because of their own blind misjudgment and greediness for a man based on outside attributes. With this book, I hope to teach women about today’s Black men in the Hip-Hop community, so that the playing fields are equal and every black woman will end up with the right guy.”

That’s sounds like something positive.  Hopefully that book will help both men and woman, and just in time for Valentine’s Day.

In the ‘Hip-hop’ community? That’s where you African-american women are supposed to find the ‘right guy’? No wonder you are all so angry!

  • Yadadamean?

That’s where i find my guys.

  • Kompton’s Kutie

Ok, this sounds good. Becuz some females do get blinded by ‘what he has’ instead of the real person he is and they end up hurt, when he gave you a million signs in the beginning that he didn’t really like you! Even with this book some still wouldn’t learn anything…..

Um, I don’t know about yall, but i don’t need a guide to finding the right black man in the hip-hop community. I mean come on. Who in the hell wants to read about that? Um, I used to live two streets over from him and he has been married with kids for like forever so what in the hell does he know?

  • http://www.yahoo.com Southern Belle 225

Is he even still a part of the hip hop community?

  • bree

ok um wait..why is he holding his medallion above his half-zipped 1999 Old Navy Winter Fleece hoodie?

Totally agree. Can no one see how ridiculous this is. Help u find a man in the ‘hip-hop’ community? Do u lot REALLY think that the best guys are in hip-hop?

LMAO, at people clowning him for being married for a long time.

Could it be that most of you are unmarriageable and undesireable.

    @Jack the Ripper

His trying is good and all but…but if he’s not keeping it real how is that going to help. Some men just want like a variety of p*ssy. And that has nothing to do with the so-called 70% that he is blaming on the women.

  • luvchild

ooops “just want or like a”

  • luvchild

    @Jack Tripper

LOL! I thought it was Jack the Ripper. And why such negativity tiray & marquis. For real…

    The book sounds interesting.

Translation – You gold digging ho’s need to TALK to a man before you drop the drawers.

Why do most women sleep with a man before they cook him a dinner? What message are you sending?

As someone who will be in D.C. this summer at our centennial celebration, I second EZ’s post. As for the book, I’m not the target market (I’m in my 40s and am looking for a man in my age group or older), so I won’t be buying it.

  • symone

The statement I read is true. From that it seems to be a good book. Our intuition tells us there something wrong with a man but we push forward in relationships knowing something is wrong.

  • and another one….

Old navy is wack and so is that damn book

    pumpum….

I don’t agree at all. Times have indeed changed. If you wanna go ahead and follow what you think is “evolution”,please do.You’ll be left alone with the girls, and guys that are 30 and bitter!

Women are making their own money, and they don’t really need a provider. Some do,but the percentage is getting smaller ,daily! Alot of the men and women of today still want to live in yesteryear. Yesteryr. =bitter and alone!

I’ve also seen posts that said…men are phsical, women are emotional….WRONG!

BOTH MEN & WOMEN ARE BOTH PHSICAL AND EMOTIONAL!

Moral of this story……THERE ARE NO MORE FREE LUNCHES FOR MEN OR WOMEN… or in a nutshell….sh*t or get off the proverial potsky! ya-heard???

Now GO..GO i say…and don’t tell anyone i put you on the path!!

    Didn’r see that coming…Your insight i meant!

I agree with everything u said.( not that u or any person needs for me to agree with you..)

    BUT ANGEL PLEASEEEEZZEE!

don’t ever finish off the greatest insightful, witty post, with …GULP! AHMM,ERR–a COMPARRISON TO WHITE PEOPLE! We are who we are…and white’s aren’t any people—BY FAR to be compared to.

  • Jack Tripper

Ms Luv Jack the Ripper and Jack Tripper are two different people…it’s all good

I don’t respond to ignorant bros and chicks…what for they are so irrelevant…they can never trigger a response in mental psyche or a convo from these fingers

I mean yea we all know some women love that game and TRUST you can have a terminal degree it dont matter. Chicks play themselves daily for the love of money. Teach his own though. I just dont see nothing wrong with writing the book if it even reflects something positive.

  • n_satiable

What the hell? Is this supposed to be like “The Gold-digger’s Guide to the Galaxy” or something? What woman in her right mind would intentionally pursue and think that she can have something lasting ONLY with a man in the Hip Hop community?

  • Rabble Rouser

    @ n_satiable

Well Vivica Fox for one, or don’t you remember that 50 Cent debacle. Tamala Jones, who was once engaged to Nate Dogg, before Wendy Williams revealed that she was seeing Dr. Dre (of YO MTV RAPS FAME) on the side, Karrine Stephans, and all the other groupies who flock to these rappers. I know a few who are married and screw around with some local west coast rappers behind their husbands back. And these married women are college educated with professional jobs. Trust me, we’re living in wierd times.

  • newbein

Black women – stop dating from the hip hop community. Date and marry the best men, this has nothing to do with race. Stop sharing and fighting for trash. Do not lower your standards. Date out and marry non black men.

  • Ignornace is contagious

why the HELL would I want a man in the “hip hop” community? Thats the problem now

  • lollipop77

The term “Hip-Hop Generation” is in reference to African Americans in their 20′s and 30′s. It’s to say anyone post civil rights, who grew up listening to Hip-Hop, not simply anyone who belongs to the Hip-Hop industry. I think he’s using Hip-Hop community interchangeable with African-American, but also to specify an age group, to distinguish us from our parents and grandparents.

I don’t think it would be a bad book. Our generation dates and mates differently than our parents and we need advice specific to us.

  • Fabulous

He looks like Cole from Martin

  • Shannie

Whatever…married…laugable…maybe if this book sells well he can start taking care of his two kids, and his “wife” can stop having to give her body to men to just keep the lights on…
