I also think the change in ranking is dubious. While I appreciate Angelina’s philanthropic efforts and her box office pull, is there any comparison between her and the Queen of Media, Oprah? There have been articles about the Oprah Effect — there was even a study on the impact of her endorsement of Obama on voters. The woman has had and continues to have a LOT of pull. She has made a lot of people millionaires — book authors, for starters — just from the mere mention of their names on her show.

While that’s ‘nice” its not a prerequisite for being a judge. I question her temperament, her judicial craftsmanship, and most of all, her ability to provide an intellectual counterweight to the conservative justices, as well as a clear liberal alternative.
When you look at her cases, she seems more like a bully than someone who can articulate their thoughts in a positive manner.

What are your thoughts on this? I remember the Human Genome project when it began back in the 90’s. If you recall Bill Clinton signed a bill stating that people couldn’t be “discriminated” against by employers and insurers based on their DNA after the project began.
That told me that it was POSSIBLE to be discriminated against based on DNA. Following “Murphy’s Law” that also means we WILL be discriminated against based on our DNA. It’s only a matter of time.

Girl, I don’t even know where to begin on this one. If my man didn’t work then he would have to contribute to the household in some other way. As you mentioned, cooking, cleaning, or whatever he needs to do to contribute to the overall well being of the household.
Inevitably, his ego will erode, because that is how men are; they want to feel as if they are the “man” regardless of who is making more in the relationship. I feel that the woman in the relationship has the power to keep his ego in check…if she handles it right.

The money is in refining. However, I could care less about refining as long as I knew that oil was under my property and oil companies were trying to get at me.

Wow… This IS/WAS my life. Let me explain – my husband is an OTR truck driver, and has been for some time. When he decided to take a job that would allow him to be home more, he was there for 6 months (lumber co) and got laid off due to the economy (this was last yr in October). We thought, truck driver, no problem. Get another gig. WRONG! It took him 5 months to find a job. During this 5 months, my gr***** was re-seeded, my house was clean daily, clothes washed, groceries stocked, clothes washed, errands and business taken care of. The only thing that he did not do was cook, because he doesn’t know how (bless his heart
). So yes, unemployed = Mr. Mom around my camp.
In regards to the 2nd part of the question, we live that as well. I make approx twice what he does. This is not an issue because that whole “it’s OURS, and what benefits you benefits me”, we believe and live by that. So when I get a huge bonus, he’s happy! And when he brings home his check, so am I! It’s a concerted effort in a relationship, and when you have expectations for one or the other to always carry more/less than it becomes an issue. We just “get er done”, regardless of who is doing what, and that works out EXCELLENT for us….
I think Stephen Covey’s “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” is pretty popular, too.

This was a few years ago that I saw this, but it was a doc on a lodge Hughes used to frequent somewhere in the Pacific Northwest, I think (I’ll have to look the name up again). Well, it mentioned allegations that he was involved in the occult or other similar activities, and I think he was mentally unstable. Some of it was worth the information, some was not. I wish you had a p.o. box, I could mail you these hardback copies…We don’t use them. Hubby keeps them for reference, but not much else.
My uncle in Tx is a real estate agent, so I don’t really bother with using my own credit, for deals..
