So this is a thing that happened. Black people on Twitter were casually minding their business, reminiscing about #GrowingUpBlack, then a White contingent of Twitter tried to Columbus the situation with their own hashtag #GrowingUpWhite. A lot of the #GrowingUpWhite tweets were in the form of “if I started a #GrowingUpWhite I’d be racist” tweets. But the problem was, the original hashtag had nothing to do with them! Sigh.
But have no fear, the good folks of Twitter, clapped back like only they know how and crushed #GrowingUpWhite to oblivion. Score one for us!
