WTF? Parking Tickets Pile Up on Dead Man’s Van
Posted by Bossip Staff
This story just shows how incompetent many police officers and meter maids are. Wouldn’t you investigate a van that didn’t move for more than a couple of days instead of constantly ticketing the vehicle. How big is a mini-van anyways? We’re sure it wouldn’t be hard to notice a dead body inside.
NEW YORK – A New York City woman says her father apparently lay dead for weeks in a minivan while police repeatedly left parking tickets on the vehicle.
Jennifer Morales of Manhattan told the Daily News on Thursday that she believes her father, George Morales, died of a heart attack.
Morales said she last heard from her dad in early May. She said she had contacted police, but police say they have no report on record.
A city marshal found the body of George Morales on Wednesday while trying to tow the minivan from beneath the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway overpass.
Parking tickets and dust covered the vehicle.
Just wrong. No one should ever have to experience the loss of a loved one is this way.

how sad…ugh
sad indeed and whats really sad is that most meter maids patrol the same area so I am sure that the same metermaid posted all of those tickets.
WHOEVER WROTE THE 3RD TICKET SHOULD BE CITED FOR NEGLIGENCE!!
*HAIR BY DEON*
MY*****E/SALONDEON
that is so sad..sounds like a potential law suit will follow
very sad, where can you find the millionaire? now many single have accounts on ___Cl*****yMingle.com____ .it’s a big millionaire and celebrities dating site. it’s a big chance to meet your cl*****y lover in your life time
Now that is sad!! To busy issuing those tickets to care!
wow….This is shocking!
And the police said they didn’t have any reports or records files. That’s when there lazy a$$ should have done something…
If this car was in Washington D.C. trust in believe after the second ticket it would have been towed..
Sorry to hear about this…..Man ol’ Man!
Stop with the ads!!
The story to me is like..He was homeless living under the BQE..The dirt and smell ..no one noticed. Thats NY .
[...] Morales family plans to cremate the remains. Officials used X-rays taken of him in 2007 at Elmhurst Hospital Center to positively identify him, Jennifer Morales told the newspaper. [...]
This is a damn disgrace! Someone needs to be fired for incompetence! My heart goes out to this mans family
smdh!!!!!
This should have gotten a Jesus Take the Wheel title…SMH.
I hope those losers don’t expect those parking tickets to still be paid.
this just goes to show you how stupid people are.
I’m laughing my ***** off thinking that funk from hell the meter maid must have been smelling was nothing out of the ordinary for New York.
To be honest unless I was in the front seat of my Suburban dead they’d have no clue because from the second row of windows back they are all tinted and they probably wouldn’t see me either…….sad but no less true…..if correct he was found in the back of the mini van wasn’t he?
this is pathetic. I dont care if he was in the backseat or the trunk, after days and the car is still there, why keep issuing tickets? I agree. If this was any other city, that car wouldve been towed.
why are there ads attached to my posts?!
Though this is unfortunate I can see how this could happen. How many people are gonna be checking for dead bodies? Come on! I think this was just an unfortunate turn of events.
OMG…the police can be so stupid. My condolences the Morales family.
Typical NYC, too busy making money issuing citations Thats all they care about making their daily quota. Poor man.
I hope they get Fired!! All they do is lurk around anyway trying to make Quotas..Thats why no one notice he was under the BQE all this time. Dumb *****s!! I hate the NYPD!!!
Oh my!!! They didn’t notice a stench??? … so weird and sad!!!
New York’s Positively Deranged cops are idiots and don’t give a damn unless it’s one of them! It’s typical for them! Best believe they’ll do all they can to protect the heifer or ***** that issued the tickets.
Breaking News!!
NYPD has no regard for human life…..again.
Story at 11….again.
As a former police officer, I am offended by your criticism. When a vehicle is parked illegally, a ticket is issued. There is NO reason for law enforcement to look inside the vehicle. When a person dies while sitting in a vehicle, he/she will most likely fall over. Car windows are often tinted. Police Officers do not have “super powers”, but they do catch murderers, child molesters, drive-by shooters, drug dealers, etc. Think before you criticize.
As much as our instinct is to be critical, after reading the post from “Saffi” It does help to see both sides of this unfortunate & very sad situation. As “KJ504″ mentioned you’d think after the 3rd ticket the patrol officer would “possibly” take an addional step of notifying the police or higher ups about the suspicious previously ignored tickets still on the window. Condolences to the family.
NYC authorities just don’t give a f%ck do they? Don’t know why people bother living there.

…as usual, OVER-ZEALOUS AND UNTRAINED NYPD!…

This was an episode of Castle, I would have never thought that this could ever be true.

street cops and meter maids are ……. wow. I don’t even have anything nice to say at all.
What a sad world. Don’t we always read about how the officer spotted this or that during a stop. None of these officers looked in the van after a few days. Sure the probably *****ume that this was just another deadbeat hood driver. Condolences to the family.
Police and meter maids get a bonus for the amount of tickets issued. This has been a subject of contempt for many years. What’s really funny is that meter maids actually think they are the PoPo. Their attitude should be, it’s a job and someone has to do it, meanwhile they get brainwashed into believing that they are contributing to making traffic and parking better, but in reality they are hustlers for the state.
And we wonder why crimes don’t get solved. Just the high profile media crimes are worked on constantly – everybody else’s are forgotten and lost in the system. If it’s not a high profile crime, unless the person walks in and literally turns himself in for the crime, I doubt it will ever be solved. Talk about LAZY.
Speechless
I really feel for the family. And as far as the patrol…I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if they were still talking through the window at him daily.
