Halle Berry-ESSENCE

Halle Berry, Diddy, J-Lo and Jay Z were shouted out by co-hosts Tatyana Ali and correspondent Quddus, on TV Access One for being 40+ and fierce:

On the next “TV One Access,” host Tatyana Ali and correspondent Quddus celebrate the hottest 40-year-olds in Hollywood. “The Big 4-OH!” is an hour-long special produced by TV One’s monthly entertainment news program, “TV One Access.” The special premieres Sunday, June 7, 2009 on cable’s TV One.

In this episode, “TV One Access” is hosting a birthday bash in honor of the biggest ballers, shot callers and power players who are at the top of their game at the age of 40. Some of the celebrities included range from actor Terrence Howard and “Grey’s Anatomy” star Chandra Wilson, to retired NFL football star Emmit Smith.

“With so many of Hollywood’s hottest stars turning 40 this year, ‘TV One Access’ decided to throw a grown and sexy birthday bash to celebrate this milestone year,” said Monique Chenault, Senior Producer, “TV One Access.” “Each star honored in this special episode, ‘The Big 4-OH!’ is proof that the good life begins at 40 years young.”

Diddy, the hip-hop mogul and father of five who heads up Bad Boy Worldwide Entertainment Group, turns 40 later this fall. Diddy is also a successful rapper and actor and is worth an estimated $300 million.

Rapper Jay-Z, who also runs Def Jam Records and is married to actress and singer Beyonce, turns 40 this December.

Also included are singer/actress Jennifer Lopez, who turns 40 this summer and is a multi-faceted business woman who has a successful clothing line and is the mother of twins and Tyler Perry, the successful writer, director, actor and producer whose successful films include “Diary Of A Mad Black Woman” and “Madea Goes to Jail.”

Rounding out the group is Singer Al B. Sure, professional boxer Antonio Tarver, as well as actor and rapper O’Shea “Ice Cube” Jackson.

Age really isn’t anything but a number these days especially when you have a great plastic surgeon, trainer, home chef, dermatologist, glam squad and about 40 million dollars to spend just on wardrobe.

Dont forget the new President and his wife, not to mention the growing numbers of light heavyweigts entering the House soon to come.

    The Sane One

I don’t know why people keep saying that because you might live until 80, but quality of life goes down past 65. People are now spending 10-15 years just suffering from dementia.

Wasnt talking about that kind of change,I do forget sometimes to have my coffee in the mournin. But yes the new 40 is the new 69.

    Just Sit And Be Pretty

Aww Bossip, don’t be cynical…some of us can be 40+ and fabulous WITHOUT the plastic surgeon, trainer, personel chef, etc. For some…it’s in the genes. ;-)

40 is just sexy PERIOD! It says “Stable and Confident” and that’s what I consider sexy (in most cases).

i read your biases to mean you are ugly, out of shape, with bad skin, and no style. you dont need lots of money to look and feel good. and many people with money are still busted. always so acerbic. man.

40 is 40 I don’t care what these Hollyweird people who are scared of getting older say! Be happy you’re alive to see another day and move FORWARD! Stop trying to relive your twilight years because they are behind you! No one said just because you get older means you have to act it and look it, but I think you should embrace your age regardless of what it is.

Grey-headedness is a crown of beauty in God’s eyes, and it’s also a sign of wisdom. My parents have embraced their greys – and they didn’t start going grey until their late 40’s early 50’s – and have never dyed their hair and I plan on doing the same. My parents are now in their 60’s and still look very youthful. I hope I age as gracefully as they have.

@2dimplzs….You must be under 30….you will get it when you become 40 and over….

    missunderstood

Whew! Thank GOD that 40 is the new 30! And here I was thinking I was gonna be turning the same old 40…

    nothankyou

just how are the *****f*ckas that post on this site? y’all seem obsessed with folks being 40+. My take is this – 40 aint old and it aint young. But everybody needs to come correct and get used to the fact that ya don’t stay young forever. Everybody gets old or gets dead.

    2dimplzs, I completely agree!

I’m tired of people saying “(this) is the new (that)”. With age you become better, wiser and learn from the mistakes of your past and what you want for the future, which changes greatly from your youth.

That girl looks like her elevator does not go all the way to the top. So Sorry for their pain- I hope this works out for them. So sad!! Good luck!! Congratulations

Im 30 & I love getting older & more wise- Wouldnt go back to 20 for anything….

    @ Lady J:

Actually I’m 35, about to turn 36. I’m still waiting on my first grey hair and I’m enjoying getting older because for me age means BEING ALIVE to see another day and it means acquiring more WISDOM. The only thing I would want back from my 20’s is my slimmer size. I love the fact that I’ve matured and learned so much since then and would not want to go backwards.

Granted I have a husband and 4 kids and I’m a little thicker now, I’m very happy with me and my age. I feel I’m in a good place and getting older is the last thing on my mind. Losing a good 10 pounds is at the top of my list though! =)

    big homie

so 40’s is the new 30. jayz started that right? rich people hate to get old and think of dying with all that bread around. he better send that memo that 40’s are the new 30 to his heart, organs and etc so that they know whats up,lol.

    llic

i remember back in the day when women would go crazy when they went from 29 to 30,thinking they’re getting older and close to their death beds and ***** and overreacting all over the place. now 30 isn’t so old anymore.40 is,lol.

    skeeta

My mom says 40 aint sh$t but 40.
