I enjoy and agree with your posts. I am a die hard Obama supporter. I believe in Obama and live it by volunteering for and donating to his campaign.

However, I am hesitant to totally dismiss Ron Paul. Some of his ideas are actually a mirror of black power movement ideas of the 60's and 70's (independence of government being the main one).

I've seen Ron Paul speak in person, I've even volunteered a few times, and I feel we can't just dismiss what he has brought to the table. This is a 100% grassroots presidential campaign that has made an impact on a basically umimpactabe Republican party. You may not agree with or like him, but how can we not aknowledge what Ron Paul has accomplished as progressive and forward thinking black people? There was a time when these extreme "nut cases" were the only white people who gave 2 cents about black power.

However, I read on a post here that Ron Paul does not support the ending the enslavement of Africans in America.

With this new info, if it is true, I am gravely disappointed and cannot praise him.

But I can still acknowledge that he has brought ideas to the table that would be (directly or indirectly / intentionally or unintentionally)liberating for black people which confuses me if he supports slavery. I'm open to new info and enlightenment on the matter.

OBAMA 2008!!

I agree with you.

And what's up with all these Paul Ron "SHEEPLE" (go to any Democratic party blog and they're posting about this man, they esp. love Obama blogs).

He will NEVER EVER be elected as president of the United States of America, but maybe with all the QUACKS that are going around preaching his name can start some kind of cult. I imagine it being something like ATLAH.

Has anyone ever stopped to think that a liberal supporting Ron Paul over and above the other "republican" candidates isn't all that extraordinary?

Also shake my head at any serious discussion of Dennis Kucinich or Gravel sitting in the oval office. You people can't be serious about electing these extremist nut cases. It's like a conservative saying they should nominate Rick Santorum for the presidency.

Comparitivly speaking, Rob Paul is winning the Republican race.

Ron Paul is independently supported financially by the people and he has and has had the least media of all the candidates and he is getting votes and delegates. He is still on the map because people are keeping him on it. Edwards didn't even have that momentum. This says something great about Ron Paul.

I hope Obama reaches out to Ron Paul.

@ Ron Paul

Although an Obama supporter,

I do respect and admirer Ron Paul:

A few words on Ron Paul. I’ve attended several Ron Paul’s events, he is also an inspiring speaker. I’ve volunteered a few times as well.

His movement of supporters are sincere and driven and grassroots proud. There have been complaints that his movement does not reach out to black people. But I kind of liked that there was no special targeting or maketing or script for me. His supoprtrers really are 100% issue driven. I would never use the term colorblind, rather issue driven.

Ron Paul killed it in the Republican debate, although loyal to his party he is unafraid to challenge it even outright and publically. He is honest and last fall I wrote on this site that a dream ticket would be a bipartisan ticket with Obama/Paul. The Ron Paul Revolution, what a powerful statement, and his people spray painted it everywhere, the word and expression black people once dared to use.

I note that Ron Paul is still getting votes and delegates and the media does not exhalt him which I find discriminating.

Ron Paul is a revolutionary in this race, but with respect to Obama, I must note that given this country’s racist perceptions and history, radicalism is seen as “less threatening” coming from a white person.

I hate to say it but if McCain chose Paul as his running mate they would win in November. But McCain is not that strategic-smart-daring- whatever he would need to be to reach out to Paul.

I also like that Ron Paul refuses to run on a third party ticket. He is standing up to his own party and saying this is what a Republican looks like and challenges them to think and rethink and redefine.

Obama could never campaign on a “revolution” platform like Paul and live let alone be elected. When Martin Luther King, Jr. radicalized, he was assasinated. When Malcom X evovled, he was assasinated. When I think of WEB Dubois’ broken hearted writings on industrial and internalized racism, I am moved to believe that Obama is advent and wisened from the experience of many before him.

I feel Obama has found a historical balance and that is why I support him.

OBAMA 2008!!!

Obama would have been fine if he was simply a liberal, but sadly - he's not. He does not have to be a radical like Ron Paul, but a true liberal like Kucinich and Gravel would've still allowed him to capture so many supporters.

BARACK WANTS OUR TROOPS OUT AT LEAST BY 2013!
