The Russell family is a strong black functional unit. There are so many disfunctional black family and I am proud to watch their show. It’s an excellent show to watch with your children. It’s about time that you see a strong black man and a black woman enjoying the fruits of life and sharing it with their children, especially on the television. I am so happy not a see the typical black man with a white woman.

That’s a very lucky baby. I can only imagine how long she would’ve stayed in foster care or traveled from one foster home to another.

I’m glad The Simmons family looked beyond the “light skin, good hair syndrome” and gave a baby a chance that most people would overlook.

I was reading an article the other week about the plight of so many AA children who are in foster homes waiting for adoption and it made me sad.

I thought I was the only one that thought the baby wasnt cute. Until I read the comments above. But she is blessed to be adopted by a loving family. Yeah for the Simmons…..

Thank God for adoption. Lord knows we need more people like them for our children! Even the “not so cute” ones need love too! Lol!!!!!

I cannot believe the amount of insensitivity on this blog! You negative people are simply unbelievable. First things first ~ making comments about the baby not being cute is so not funny OR cute. What does looks have to do with anything. Secondly ~ Yes, the Simmons Family has a big bank account but that cannot surmount to loving that baby like she needs to be loved. Don’t get me wrong, I’m more than certain that they will love her unconditionally and give her the best of everything but their bank account does not guarantee that.

Lastly ~ While you are on here surfing and making comments, you too can make a difference in a child’s life, preferably an African American child, by opening your heart and your home to foster a child. As an adoptive foster parent, I cannot express to you how important it is for us to take a stand a do our part by taking care of our own. Not once have I ever looked at any one of my babies like they didn’t come from my womb. They ones whom I’ve loved and let go, I did my part to fill the gap until they could return home or to their adoptive home. Never was their any lack of financial resources either. When you bless others, God makes sure He blesses you. Check with your local Social Services office and see how you can help. I guarantee you’ll never be the same again.

P.S. That baby is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Inside and OUT!

she is a lil cutie. i’m an absolute fan of their show and i was very happy that they were able to adopt. i also think it’s kinda funny that she actually looks like them. she looks like justine actually gave birth to her. anyway, many blessings and continued happiness to their entire family.

The baby is very cute. What a blessing for her to be adopted by such loving parents. This baby obviously was dealt a bad hand to start with by ending up in the system, but everything has turned out just fine for her. They make a lovely family. There are so many other Black children in the system waiting for adoption. I think that the Simmons family has done a beautiful thing.
