Al B. Sure Breaks the Silence About Quincy Putting Him on Blast

- By Bossip Staff Categories: For the Children, News, out of pocket

Al B. Sure knows he got caught out there looking shady so now he’s going into media overload trying to clean up his deadbeat dad steeze. Pop the top for his “heartfelt” response to Quincy’s dogged out letter

“I’m a human being so of course hearing about any family member being disappointed with you is devastating, but what can you do? I’m a human being and my job is to fix it,” Al B. Sure tells exclusively. “I will not engage in a private family matter with the public, but I will say that Quincy is the most wonderful, kind young man in the world, and whatever he and I are going through we are going to work it out and that’s all that counts.”

About a month ago, Quincy posted an open letter to his father on Russell Simmons’s accusing him of being an absentee father:

“Albert Brown, also known as “Al B. Sure!” is my biological father, but Sean Combs, also known as “Diddy,” has been a father figure in my life for as long as I can remember. Sean Combs is the person whom I look up to and appreciate as a father. He is the one who helped mold me into the person I am today and I will always try to live up to his expectations. He has always been supportive of me and I will forever love and respect him. As far as my biological father goes, the ‘spitting image’ is all I have taken from him. Throughout my life, I’ve always wondered about him: Where he was? What was he doing? and most importantly, Was he even thinking about me? The absence of my father has given me a better understanding of what type of man I am going to be. I am grateful for my mom’s love, support, guidance, and for her strength.”

Al B. Sure is set to drop his new album, “Honey, I’m Home,” (Hidden Beach Recordings) on Tuesday, June 23.

We knew it was a publicity stunt. That’s real convenient that he has an album dropping in a few weeks. SMH That ish is low.

Publicity stunt for who? Your son calling you out as a deadbeat dad isn’t going to push album sales-not in R&B, maybe hip hop.

Publicity stunt…. DUH!! that was obvious….

@illy….In the entertainment industry any publicity is good publicity; also people like the underdog…A man asking for redemption in the media…good stuff. He will interviewed on this stuff…he already has a prepared answer…so staged….

Perfect timing. Very disappointing. Here I was holding out hope that he was legit about making amends with his son. His album comes out in 2 weeks and he just now decides to respond to his son’s plea? Wow. What an opportunist.

    WOW..thats dirty

WTF? I won’t spend a dime on that album. I am not going to be the one to fund his deadbeat mentality.

He’s dropping a new album? So, what’re you saying – he finally learned to sing?

    @ Shamar

I am sure A l B felt threatened about Diddy’s millions but that is no excuse to not have a relationship with his son. Quincy still longed for a relationship with his father. It is foolish to try and justify a father not being in his son’s life. It takes more than money to be a father. I am sure Kim or Diddy would of paid for Quincy to to visit Al B sure. But he didn’t try to be a father. He just decided to be absent and that is not a man or a father.

This sh*t reminds me of being at work and hearing black men say stupid sh*t like, “How am I supposed to pay child support when I have a car note?” (sigh)

… .::wonders what the US would be like if all left-behind children wrote heartfelt letters to their ABSENT fathers such as this::.

the post office would be busy as hell, returning mail:/

  • David

Who’s Al B Sure? With or without the letter, who would buy music from this guy?
