Get back to me with the “hearsay” talk when you can tell me how old he was when he wrote the song. At a quick glance on the internet, his current listed age is 36 and I haven’t yet found anything yet (police records, etc) that suggest it’s a stage age. He’s been rapping since around 14 years old and listening to the sound clip, it sounds like something that was done in that time span, give a year or two. Recording with cassette tapes is a late 80s thing. Hell the LYRICS sound like they were written by someone not older than 16 at most.

So, let me know, when was this written that you can claim he did this during his adult life?

I see where you’re coming from with the standards of music and Mariah’s talent. However, why would someone tie themselves down to just singing ballads if their voice and style is versatile. I know Mariah is known for her high notes and vocals but she should be able to have a fun record like any other artist. It doesn’t take away from her artistry it simply adds.

I love her ballads but sometimes they bore me, same with Beyonce. I love her songs, but the dance routines, vocals, and lyrical content sometimes bore me as well. If I were A Boy was a breath of fresh air.
